Wowww!!I didn't plan to go to WalMart, but I wanted to observe the zoo just prior to a blizzard. Everything was basically back to pre-Covid normal, the entire store was basically fully stocked, or overstocked, with the exceptions of beef, small bottles of cooking oil (many, many gallon jugs), small containers of yogurt (many, many tubs), and cheap canned cat food (plenty of boutique stuff).
8 Lives Seafood Platter Pate is the only inexpensive thing left. Some shoppers told me no cat will eat that stuff. Maybe the cats know it could kill them.
And, I'm glad I went. Campbell's Cream of Mushroom (and Cream of Chicken) condensed soup were .25 a can. I picked up about an 18 month supply.
It sure was. For pantry canned goods, I basically buy cream of mushroom soup, tomato paste (I just picked up a year's supply), and albacore in water. That's it. I'm at two out of three, with tuna "maybe" going on sale just before Lent.Wowww!!
Lucky score!!
I haven't received any notice here in the desert. Do you have Southwest Gas? I did see a 6 % rate increase went into effect starting this month.
25 cents is a screaming deal, for sure. But substitutes for both cream of mushroom and cream of chicken are really easy to make--and healthier.man that is a great price...... i would like that to come our way...... those two flavors are a must if you cook.......congrats
Mine is out of sight also. Electric cost me 500 mo. Water 1000 every 2 months. So if that increase is right I will be paying 1500 a month for utilities. I don't know how people are paying these bills. They are letting all the trees die in these working class neighborhoods.Southern California Gas
$17 a month?!?!? OMG!! We're looking at going from an average of $200/month to over $500!!

I quit going out alone after dark a good ten years ago. I was visiting where I moved from and ran over to the walmart I'd shopped at for years and felt very uncomfortable there, outside not in the store. Since I didn't live there anymore I'd never been back even in the day time. I use to go there all the time, even in the evening.Went shopping tonight (it was our date night!). No bananas, lots of meat (but who can afford it), everything else seemed well stocked, except no Nyquil/Dayquil/off brand similar med. Prices keep creeping or bounding up. I buy mostly sale items, so I do OK. When I had gone to a different store Friday night after work, it just felt.... off.
Tonight, I saw a lot of groups shopping....very few single shoppers unless it was single men. I don't know if people just don't feel as safe going out past dark (it was only like 5:30) or what.

Getting the same storm. Just hope there is no iceWe (Indiana, central/north of Indy) are expecting a pretty ugly storm this week starting Tuesday -Friday....ice, a lot of snow, sleet, potentially being the kind that will keep many home.
I’m going to wait until tomorrow morning to get last minute top off items. Kroger was so bad yesterday I set down the two items out of the few I needed and walked out.
They were packed to begin with but had...only three cashiers and not a single bagger in there.
The self checkout was winding all the way to the floral area. After working all morning no way was I standing in that mess.
Today being a Sunday will not be any better.
Same here!!Getting the same storm. Just hope there is no ice
Coke has been having issues for a really long time. We drink Diet Coke and diet caffeine free...We grab some whenever we see it. That, and FrescaAt work today (state college food service) the Coke vendor showed up, not sure why given how little he delivered. For the second delivery in a row we received no coca cola, no diet coke, no Fanta in any flavor. Again this is the main coke distributor in the entire state and we got no soda from them. The last delivery we received less than 20% of what was ordered. More than a little frustrating. This is in western OK, distributor is coming out of OKC
Offbrand, here was 1.89 last summer (basically the only time I use it). I barely noticed that the now smaller print listed it at 30 ounces, rather than the previous 32.An offbrand quart jar of mayonaise was...wait for it...drumroll...taps...
$7.99.
Like bloody hel. I'll be using a recipe and making my own. Thanks Marie! I see you posted a recipe in Granny's Kitchen.
We’ve limited most other “woke” items except for Diet Coke lolI have not had a coke since they went woke.
Around my AO coke is plentiful because nobody is buying it anymore.
At my WalMart, they no longer stack the saltines. They slide the large cardboard box off the pallet onto the bottom shelf, cut out the front, and let the cracker wolves at it.Went shopping at Walmart, today. NE MS. Store looked good. Some things were thin, but still available. I had to make a few substitutions on some brand names, but all in all, it was a good trip for another 2 weeks. The saltine crackers were very thin. Zesta brand is all they had. We like Premium brand, but Zesta will have to do.
What State are you in? Restaurants are all over the place here in CAs desert. The family went out to dinner tonight on the spur of the moment. We went to 6 restaurants we had frequented in the past. Five were empty and permanently closed.

I was able to get wet cat food from Amazon. Store shelves here are bare.I was at a small chain store (Weis) in MD yesterday. They had been out of the wet/canned cat food for a LONG time. But yesterday it was about 60-70% full! Mostly "Friskies" from what I remember, but all kinds of varieties were on the shelf. I don't have a cat, but this thread makes me swing by that section of the store every time I'm there to see how it is. So the cat food is apparently out there, somewhere. Just finding it is the hard part.
