VIDEO Netflix’s “Leave the World Behind”

Masterchief117

I'm all about the doom
My personal take on it is that "they" are telling us what is coming and this maybe "The Last One", as in warning/telling us what is coming.

I think there is a lot of little subtle nuggets of info that need to be cleaned and researched about topics mentioned in the movie.

I was looking at backgrounds, pictures, etc. It would be interesting to get a English translation of what the Hispanic woman by the road was saying. Maybe nothing but it may have something in it.

I think a lot of the meaning has to do with how easy it would be to take this country down. We have been so brainwashed over the years and become so reliant on our technology and toys that we can hardly think logically anymore. We are so divided with all the different factions consisting of small differences between humans, even a bunch of made up ones, that we can't stand each other. Empathy, what is that, we can't even find enough to pick up a panicked Spanish lady crying in the street or to give a sick kid some pills? The most brainwashed was the little girl. She did not care for any real human. She goes off by herself, finds her dopamine hit and stares into the TV not even thinking of her family or telling them about the safe place she has discovered. I don't know if this was a warning of a possible take down of this country on 12/22 or just someone musing about an easy, cheap way to do it, but it scared the crap out of me.

The animals had it right. Stick together and take care of the pack, flock, flamboyance (kind of a queer reference ya think?). There is safety in numbers. I think they were even trying to bring those crazy humans into their pack because they sensed the outside threat. But humans don't trust even their own kind. We have been trained.

Yes, I think that was a big message in the movie. The ending also conveyed the same message (I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet) - the Friends theme = "I'll be there for you..." Maybe the bug bite wasn't significant? I thought it was interesting to kind of bring Havanna syndrome into it. Also, I think the movie touched on the disinformation that would circulate during an event like this.

It was pretty good. I wondered how the electricity and water stayed on, though. You'd think the utilities would be one of the first things to go in a cyberattack.

How many movies have been produced by Barak and Michelle Obama?

That’s why I felt compelled to watch this, other than the fact that I enjoy participating on one of Cowgirl4Christ’s threads. I didn’t watch this for enjoyment. It was a recon mission.

I believe evil does announce its plans before perpetrating them.

One must ponder why an ex-president would executively produce a film such as this? This is far from presidential. Think about that, and then watch this film with your brain on full alert.

It was OK. It did make me think. We will never know what IT is when it hits. Could be a mix of natural disaster and human invasion. All things we already know. For the "unchurched" it might rattle their cage.

****Spoiler alert****
I thought it interesting that the "Friends" loving 13 year old choose junk food and watching the series finale of "Friends" over responding to mom's call. I think this is a true depiction of our current culture, particularly children who have emotional attachment to the entities on their phones. They have no emotional attachment to real people, they have been raised on electronics for their emotional attachments.

Husband didn't like it. Thought it was boring.

Attack deer...rando flamingo flocks... and why in all of creation would they assume that the only prepper they knew would have a miracle drug for whatever was wrong with the kid?

To me it was like this movie was written by amateurs. The actors dragged it along as best they could, but to me it was sub-par at best. I still can't stand Julia Roberts. She's got permanent RBF.

The film did, however, seem to telegraph how they intend to destroy the country if they believe Trump will finally return to the White House. They'll sabotage the national infrastructure and blame it on Russia/China/anyone else as we're thrown back to the 19th century. The fact that they mention "rogue military" at the end tells me that they're already putting those destructive plans in place but know that not everyone is going along with The Plan.

And that scenario is straight out of Jericho, if you watched the entire series you learn at the end it was all to keep one person from becoming POTUS. He was very popular and the swamp wouldn't have any of it so decided to burn it all down and blamed it on Iran and Russia, which they then nuked.

My take on it is this is just fanfiction. the producers of the show are creating a vision of what they would like to see inflicted on us. I think that's the thing that I dislike most about obama and his fellow travelers is that they don't have any kind of positive vision for the future to present to us, yet they feel like they should be the ones to lead us.

If this is the best they got, cyberattacks changing animal migration and causing global warming..

I think we’ll be just fine

Or sarcasm, snark, or making money off the backs of the foolish. I'm just not sure which it really is.

IF someone finds this film free (or cheap) online, please post. I don't have Netflix, but would like to see what this is all about, mostly because of who produced it.

Half asleep when it came to that part so I may not be perfect but she said something like,
'please please,I am trying to get back home, she mentioned the deer, like seeing 50, and said she said she seen the plane spraying "red" stuff. I think she was concerned about what the plane was spraying. Asked something about the military and asks him not to leave her please. Asked to use his phone. Said we got to get out of here. Was concerned about something. She just wants to get home and asks him not to leave her.

And at that point the Gen Z movie star keeps looking at his non-working car computer and drives off pushing the on button on his non-working nav system like he was in a trance. Or pretty close to that.

If I read that right the Obama's were the producers, so that would be a big loud NO. on the movie. I don't care if they were giving gold tickets.

They got all my money for 8 years think that is enough.
Wouldn't you say that ui you have netflix then they already have your money. which movie you watch is insignificant.

It is the build up to Reacher Season 2 on Amazon… He will be the guy who knew what the Hispanic Lady was saying, also how to prepare Flamingo and Deer on the grill. And as far as getting medicine for the kid from Kevin Bacon, he would have made a BLT out of him!!!!!!

I thought it was a cheap and poorly produced movie but still worth watching. I watched on 1.5 speed because most of it moved so slow. The music was simply irritating- like they wanted me to feel frightened and out of balance but the plot didn't demand that until way up in the timeline. I also found the whole deer-thing odd - what's up with all that?

A good reminder of the many good points that others have already shared. My main takeaway is that I need a bunker like that!

Not having seen the movie but having watched the trailer and read a *spoiler* review, I have to ask.... Have you read Ingersoll Lockwood's The Last President?

EXACTLY!! It became a recon mission for me, as well, when I saw the Obama’s in the credits. I was going to turn the channel immediately but then I was like… “Wait a minute. An apocalyptic movie showing the demise of the US and the Obama’s are Executive Producers? Yeah. I have to see what this is all about.”
