VIDEO Netflix’s “Leave the World Behind”

I just watched the Netflix movie, “Leave the World Behind.” Set aside your hated for Netflix for a moment and listen to this one….

It’s an apocalyptic type movie where another country (or countries) have launched a cyber attack against the US that plays out in 3 stages ending in a civil war where Americans turn on each other. It’s a feast for preppers. I mean, there’s a scene where the main character was invited to become a member of “the evil cabal” by “an incredibly high official in the military.”

****But get this for one ultra strange detail: Barack and Michelle Obama are the Executive Directors!!!**** (Julia Roberts stars in this with Ethan Hawke and Kevin Bacon, as well.)

Everything you ever watch or read on these YT prepper channels or blogs/news, it’s all in this movie. It’s almost as if the Obama’s are foreshadowing future events. A little girl in the movie retells the story about the man who kept praying to the Lord to protect him from a flood and the Lord provided 3 ways to rescue the man but he ignored them all because he prayed that the Lord would protect him. It’s just a lot to process with the Obama’s involved and all.

(Sam Esmail directs it and he’s one of my favorite producer/directors.)

So, I just watched this movie. I felt compelled mainly due to the Obamas being executive producers. Like custom2006 said above: predictive programming.

Highly recommend it for a number of reasons. I also won’t spoil it for others right now, but I will say this:

Near the end, look at the very noticeable date on the sticker on the car windshield. It is quite large:

12-22

Interesting.

Thank you, I probably would neither have noticed it nor paid any attention to it without your recommendation. I now have it up to watch later. I have company this week so I am on and off line often.

There is lots of stuff (reviews and such) on YouTube about this movie but most of what I've watched so far seem to be trying to lead you off in different directions. I did notice the inspection sticker (assuming that is what it is from living in Texas). What is really interesting, going through some of the stuff on YouTube, the inspection sticker shows up earlier in the movie but it is on the other guy's car (sorry, I'm horrible on names) when he went out and found the Spanish woman. Again the same 12-22! From what I remember about inspection stickers from Texas this is the month and day the sticker expires. The year is represented by background color. So why are two different cars showing the same expiration date on their separate stickers?

I think I know what my rabbit hole will be today.

More than 1 car will have the same expiration month.

If I read that right the Obama's were the producers, so that would be a big loud NO. on the movie. I don't care if they were giving gold tickets.

They got all my money for 8 years think that is enough.

The author and also the screenwriter have Muslim sounding names. That, along with the fact that the Obama's were involved means that I want nothing to do with it.

I read the book - doesnt sound like it is much like the movie. In the book - its two pretty clueless NYC couples one young one old ending up at the airbnb that the older couple own. One minor character was a half-assed prepper and it didnt mean much to the plot. And the cyberattack is just an offshoot to all else that it going on. The most interesting thing about the book was the ending which I wont spoil here.

Very easy to torrent the book and the movie for free if u learn how to do that.
