ALERT RUSSIA INVADES UKRAINE - Consolidated Thread

While everyday boris and Natasha defend there homeland. In the end the only thing they will have defended is the ability for the political class and there oligarchs to make off with the wealth of the country. This is true with most of the world at this point. Including the United States. It's a frigging joke.

Actually, it's not funny at all.

From a website I follow. I concur with their assessment, and I have noticed similar things. Ukraine, as it stands right now, is not the main event. Something else is up...

ETA: I went and looked it up. So far, Russia has not even committed 1/3 of their available combat power to this. So like I said. Somethings up.
More war updates
The propaganda has gone SO over the top now that it's a subject in itself.

First of all, Putin is not weak, and Putin is not defeated. Word on the street is that Putin used his junk at first and will pull out the good stuff if NATO attacks. And it seems legit, there were a few good cruise missiles used but most of what got used really was not Russia's best.

I have seen lots of crap about Russian tech being "50 years behind the United States" and it is always from a war monger that probably wants Americans to believe victory will be easy. But even if America's tech is better, it is going to be used by a military that was recently maimed by a death vax. The playing field is probably quite level.

50 years is a lie to boot.Russia's tech would not be "50 years behind America" even if they never updated a Mig 29, which is their 80's plane that's damn near abandoned. Their tech in reality is a mix of "30 years behind" with a nice pile of "15 years behind" all the way up to "Ahead of the United States" when it comes to anti aircraft systems and cruise missiles. Does your 15 year old computer still do the job? With modern warfare systems, I don't think 15 years matters when the tools are in the right hands, 30 years does, but not 15. Lots of America's military stuff in use right now is a mix of the same - some of what America uses is 40 years old too. But it was so far ahead of Russia at that time that 40 years is not a deal breaker.

The bottom line is I don't think Russia's stuff is outdated enough for it to even be a factor. What WILL be a factor is how it gets used and whether or not it can be hacked.

Literally there is an army of progressives doing this crap.

Not cool in my opinion.
Wow!! I knew there was a machine against us, I just never thought about the amount of coordination that went into it.

On the other hand, looks like something an opposing blogger could do. :hmm:

All these countries sending equipment and weapons from their own reserves cannot be a good thing.
Are these supplies being replaced? How quickly? Who buys? From who?

If it gets bunt up in this war, what is left to defend yourselves in a personal way?

Part of the thinking likely is one burnt out Russian tank in Ukraine is one less Russian tank, and crew, to possibly cross their own border.

there's NATO stockpiles that the individual countries can draw from under the correct treaty regs >>> I don't think anything supplied to Ukraine has come from NATO itself ....

the munitions coming from Poland should be all fairly new - the US would be sending in factory fresh - the question would be how old is the UK and German stuff ....

This is concerning to say the least. Hopefully he's just running his mouth. I bet U.S. intel keeping a close eye on RUS nuke force posture. If he sorties the subs out of ports and gets the TU 95s and 22s airborne or fuel trucks move toward the silos then we got a problem.

He's trying hard to convey the message that he's not simply "running his mouth".

Isn't that clear by this point?

He's doing his best to get the point across the he's not F'n kidding.

Whether he'll push the button or not, ? :shr:

It will be interesting to see the data. Either way, everyone involved is going to have to refresh their stocks....

Not to derail (hopefully just food for thought) but I'm thinking that a few (cognizant) wanna-be tyrants in this country are digesting the effectiveness of rag-tag but determined Ukrainian citizens as we speak - in relation to their own domestic ambitions.

INDEED . . . not to mention those RIGHT HERE AT HOME who would be MUCH NEEDED participants in the fight for their OWN HOMELAND and the future of their OWN PROGENY

thank you for pointing this to this FACT . . . I'd been very much wanting to say something about this - and had successfully refrained from doing so

You mean the one that the Soviets won, and Russia still controls the land taken from Finland.

Yes, also where the Soviets lost a huge number of men to do it. ETA: 400K+ Soviet casualties vs 70K+ Finnish.

Swedish volunteers were present for that mess on the side of the Finns.

Anyone remember the Lucitania?

Sending arms to a country involved in a war can have all sorts of consequences. Not saying we shouldn't send arms to Ukraine, but when a shipment gets blasted we shouldn't be surprised. Arms running in a war zone carries a certain amount of risk.
Great grand mother came over from Ireland on thankfully an earlier voyage aboard her.

So bank runs inside Russia trying to get foreign currency but that appears to be running out of foreign currency and the only available is Ruble

For those that think Putin is sandbagging the attack because of orders from Klaus, Putin cares a lot more about the internal political situation in Russia than he cares or trusts WEF.

Yes this is still early innings and reports are both sketchy confusing and contradicting but the current situation is not in Russia’s interest so that immediately connects that it is not in Putins interest.

A slight chance for a settlement is still possible but a good settlement would need to give both sides something to be happy and miserable about. Would Ukraine be willing to give up the breakaway regions and some small additional territory in exchange for cease fire and removal of Russian troops from the ‘rest’ of Ukraine. This can imho only be managed by an independent 3rd party respected by both sides.

The only possibility of a negotiated settlement is if Putin feels internal unrest is threatening his position, and we are far from there today but a lot can change over the next week.

I don’t think Putin can prevent word of losses and deaths reaching back into Russia. I would assume the crematorium trucks are to limit the shock of the injuries and the logistics requirement of returning the bodies.

Nothing I have seen so far makes me believe this was a well thought out and planned campaign, and with part of Putins international power built on the threat of the Russian military this also not serving in Russia’s geo political interests.

In the military logistics is not sexy, logistics is not something that looks menacing on a parade, logistics is hard to sell to a Congressman and Senator but logistics is the ultimate force multiplier.

The only thing worse than running out of ammo and fuel is running out of food. Maybe some ground pounders can chime in but in the standard combat pack load out in US you carry what some energy bars and maybe 2-3 days mre’s.
