Son: Possible second Ebola patient 'didn't mean to cause panic'
The son of Sgt. Michael Monnig said his father did not mean to cause a panic Wednesday when he went to a Frisco clinic with possible Ebola symptoms.
London Monnig told News 8 that
his father didn't have a fever when he went to the CareNow clinic in Frisco, a suburb of Dallas, and he believes his father does not have the fatal disease.
London Monning said his father was simply not feeling well Wednesday morning.
"He woke up and he just kind of felt sore and had a bit of a stomach ache," London Monnig said. "He's a very cautious person so he took it upon himself to check himself out to make sure he's okay."
Michael Monnig is one of the deputies who went into the apartment of Thomas Eric Duncan, who died of Ebola Wednesday morning.
Since that day, Monnig has been monitoring his fever twice daily.
"It's a low to no risk," London Monnig said. "He would have had to come in contact with the bodily fluids with Duncan himself, which he did not."
London Monnig said his father went to the CareNow clinic as a precaution.
