Even though it was full on cloudy, and even sprinkling and drizzling throughout, it was STILL cool.
The chickens were so confused. By the time they realized it was getting dark, it was happening too fast and they didn't make it into the coop in time. There was a moment of panic and squawking as they realized they were trapped outside in the dark, and then they all hunkered down and went silent. The minute it was light enough, they all jumped up and started telling each other all about it! lol.
The horses were un-impressed, and far more interested in WHY I was hovering around, than in how light or dark it was.
During totality, it was wild that there was a ring of light all around the horizon, to the east, south, and west. Couldn't see north horizon due to giant hill, but it was like the sliver of light at sunrise or sunset, but in every direction.
It sucked that we were so overcast, but I have experienced two before, the 2017, and the one in the Grand Canyon back in 2011 I think, so I can't be too sad. It was still an experience!
