Good Morning, All!! I think I might finally be caught up on sleep! I didn't get much of a nap before I went in to work Thursday night, then stayed up for about 4 hours after I got off work Friday morning to go to the Farmer's market and finish planting the front garden. I was snoozing away until around 3pm when my phone blew up - group text message r/t work; they needed someone to come in early. You know that button on your phone that you can slide over so you only get calls/texts from certain people? Yeah, mine doesn't work.... Or, more likely, I'm doing something wrong I'll get one of the kids at work to show me what I need to do next time. With daughter and the grandsons on the road driving home from Montana, my phone needed to be on, but more than a few hours of sleep would have been nice...
I tracked daughter and the boys while they were driving home; figured that they'd be getting home around 9 or 10 am, so stopped by home briefly, then headed over to her house to clean the fridge and dump the garbage into the cans; then was off to Wal-Mart (the only grocery store in town - there used to be three others) to restock her fridge. I got back to their house just in time to carry everything in and move my van so she'd be able to back up to the ramp door to unload their stuff. One boy took off immediately to go check out what his friends had been doing; the other headed to his room to play a video game, daughter cleaned the pool filter and then threw some chemical in before she and the dog headed to the couch for a nap. I headed home, dozed off in the tub until Hubby knocked on the bathroom door and woke me up, then staggered to bed - and didn't wake up until almost 9pm - and then went back to sleep and slept all night. Should be caught up for a bit
It's a pretty day here so far - temp is in the high 50's and it's not too humid, so it's nice and cool to have the kitchen door open. Right now, I'm drinking my coffee and eating a raspberry muffin from the farmers market while listening to the hummingbirds zipping back and forth, and the other birds in the grape vines that shade that west porch chirping away. Mornings like this soothe my soul - they help me recharge from the chaos of work and world. The clouds to the west are a deeper blue than usual for this time of the morning - I keep going to the kitchen door to look out and make sure they aren't getting darker I'm hoping that the rain that was predicted to hit between 6 & 7 am has dissipated instead of lollygagging around and waiting to hit when I can get out in the back garden to work. I need to till the back garden one more time before I plant it - and I kinda don't want to start tilling until I hear Hubby stirring around - that ancient Troy-Bilt tiller can shake the house from 40' away!!
The feral kitty just came up for breakfast - she'll come inside to the kitchen rug to eat the food I put down for her if I don't get too close! I've been working on trying to tame her for months now; she'll get to within a few feet of me, but no closer. Hubby said she wound around his feet last night when he was sitting on the porch, so maybe it was a female that made her so spooky as she loves the grand-dog and now tolerates Hubby. I'm going to have to put up a short chicken wire fence and soak some some newspaper to put down in my raised strawberry bed and wet it down though, she was digging in it and I don't want her using it as a litter box.
Well, my computer/internet is starting to get wonky, which means that storm might hit after all - guess I'd better post this and let Hubby know that it's time to get up by firing up the tiller!
You folks all take care out there - stay safe!!
