You have my sincere sympathy and understanding... as of today, I've endured 5 weeks since having my right knee replaced. When I had my left done ten years ago I followed doctors orders and took oxycodone. It was the worst experience of my lifetime... hallucination, constipation, imagination! Over the past ten years I forgot how much 'fun' it was to heal after the TKR but I didn't forget the side effects of the opioid. This time it has been nothing but extra strength Tylenol. Today my flexion measured out at 118 degrees at the physical therapist appointment. The knee surgeon wants to see 120 degrees to be happy, he say's I should gain 3 degrees per week so by the end of next week I'll be there.
A full nights sleep has been evading me since the surgery due to the constant ache, but it's getting better every week, I've been walking unaided since week two and doing all the farm chores so this time things went far better than the first knee replacement. I pray that, hearing all this, you'll keep the faith that it will get better every day and that you'll be so thankful that you (have only two knees) got it done. Walking pain free again will be your reward!!!
