Sorry man I meant to reply to dennis quote about voting for Rom is basically being an enemy to this country. That line of thinkin is borderline insane in my opinion. Romney supporters aren't the enemy, and neither were the mccain supporters of 2008. Satan and tptb is the enemy.
I think Dennis used to be a Democrat, before he became a libertarian. I don't know what he is now.
I do know that most of these people who claim to be libertarian, depending on the state and the type of primary they have, had to be Republicans to vote for Ron Paul in the primary. Ah, just checked, Texas is a semi open primary state.
intowolves, it does seem like some people are obsessed with Romney hatred. It may be because I simply don't know of any Obama supporters on this board except for 1 and I think he just pretends to be so he can get people upset.
People will tell you how evil Romney is, but they are really just pissed because he is the Republican nominee instead of Paul.
These people live in their own little isolated world and believe that if Paul would have just gotten the nomination, he would have easily won the election.
Numbers mean nothing to them.
They rant on the keyboard because that doesn't take much energy. Ask them exactly what they have done for any candidate. Ask them if they have gone door to door and handed out flyers or signs. Ask them if they have worked a phone bank. Ask them how much money they have contributed. Ask them what they know of local candidates and if they have actually worked for their campaign.
As someone else said, You don't impliment political change from the top down. You start at the local and state level where your influence and vote has the greatest impact. Once you have a base built at the local and state level you go for the presidency.
The leftists and libs that are now so much in control at all levels of government, started to move into power at the local and state levels in the late 60s and 70s.
They actually gained power and influence in almost every area of society, from schools and universities, to local governments, to regulatory agencies, to the media, they grew like a cancer. Now you can't go anywhere without being exposed to their PC propaganda. Their liberal cancer is killing the country.
What many fail to understand is that is the only way consevatives or constitutionalists will ever wrest control of the govenment back is one step at a time, one level at a time, one institution at a time. Ask them how many of them have worked, actually given of their time and money to a candidate, and you will get an astonishingly small percentage, and this is why the outlook for this country is so dismal.
Now we have a bunch of frustrated and bitter Paul supporters who don't understand any of this and think one man, no matter how good, was going to change the world if only he could become President.
They only know they wanted Paul, and they wanted him now, and that if he was only elected, angel and unicorn farts would descend on the Congress and magically transform them all into constitutional libertarians, and the Supreme Court would call a special session to repeal all the unconstitutional decisions they ever made, and islamic terrorists would suddenly start waving olive branches instead of AKs, the areas of drought would receive gentle rain, tornados and hurricanes would never darken the US skies again, the national debt would be magically forgiven, people on welfare would suddenly start working, and they would all live happily ever after.
Now that the fairytale dream book is closed, they are mad. They blame Romney. They blame the people who voted for Romney. They hate both more than they hate Obama and democrats in general. They will continue to be Romneys harshest critics, more critical of him than the democrats. They don't even stop to think that if Paul would have been intellectually honest, he would have run as a libertarian. In fact he never would have switched parties and become a Republican. Fact is, Paul was more of a realist and more practical minded than many of his "idealogically pure" followers.
