Goya CEO Issues Dire Warning On Looming Food Crisis

Policies leading to a war on fossil fuel as well as the Russian invasion of Ukraine will contribute to a food crisis, according to Robert Unanue, President and CEO of Goya Foods. “We are on the precipice of food shortage.”

The two held the press conference to discuss details of a recent shipment of humanitarian aid to Venezuela, donated by Goya Foods.Russia and Ukraine together produce half of the fertilizer used in the United States and fertilizer prices have quadrupled, Unanue said on EpochTV’s “Crossroads” program.
However, the fourfold surge in fertilizer prices will affect African and European countries more severely than the United States because the latter is currently more independent with regard to food, Unanue said, with the big problem being that it’s planting season in southeastern Ukraine and people are fighting a war.
“There’s two and a half million acres of sunflowers to be planted,” he said. Farmers there will be planting less and yielding less, because of the rising costs and the lack of good yield. “It’s going to send food prices spiraling.”

Together, they account for about 29 percent of global wheat exports, 19 percent of global corn supply, and 80 percent of global sunflower oil exports.
Moreover, the irrigation systems in southeastern Ukraine have been bombed and ports have been cut off, Unanue noted. Mariupol, a port on the Azov Sea, has already been cut off, and Odesa, a Black Sea port, is the next target, he added. “That will landlock Ukraine and prevent them from exporting.”
The biggest component of food cost is transportation, so the current war on fossil fuels has made the United States no longer oil independent.
“Shipping in a pipeline is free,” he said. “But when you put it on a ship, with rates 10 times where they were two years ago, we are buying oil at retail.”
Nitrogen-based fertilizers are made from natural gas, so the war on fossil fuels and energy independence also impacts the cost of fertilizers, Unanue said.
The CEO gave an example of coconut water, which his company imports from Thailand in bulk, to illustrate the impact of the surge in transportation costs.
A case of coconut water used to cost $1.44, but now the cost per case has increased to $15 due to rising transportation expenditure, he said. “That’s an inflation, a tenfold inflation.”

“We’re there with nourishing the body, but we also want to nourish the soul,” he said of the company’s creed.
“God created humanity. But humanity has created the way to destroy itself—nuclear, chemical, biological,” Unanue said. “Now we’re using food as a weapon. We have to move closer to God.”
“We need to love and build, not hate and destroy. And that’s our mission.”
Firefighters respond to an industrial fire that threatened a Perdue Farms facility in Virginia on April 30, 2022. With a food crisis looming, recent fires and other accidents that occurred at a multitude of food processing facilities within the last few months, raising concerns over yet another burden on an already vulnerable food industry.
Unanue said that such incidents often occur due to deferring preventive maintenance of these facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic. When lockdowns were imposed on most companies and businesses, the food industry kept working.
Since then, Goya has doubled its capacity and its facilities operate around the clock, but “any factory needs to stop for maintenance at least once a year,” he said, adding that Goya’s plants stop twice a year for maintenance.

White House 'Near Deal' To Reopen Abbott Baby Formula Plant, Allow Imports

The Biden administration on Monday is expected to announce an agreement which would reopen the largest domestic baby formula plant in addition to easing import rules to allow for supplies from overseas, according to NBC San Diego.
According to the White House National Economic Council director Brian Deese, a consent decree between Abbott and the FDA is "forthcoming," while the agency will take steps on imports to address urgent supply constraints.
The administration has been under fire over the last week for doing nothing to ease the shortage of formula due to a malfunctioning drying machine that contaminated several batches, killing two children and injuring two more.
The contamination led to a February recall by Abbott, which shuttered the company's Michigan plan at perhaps the worst possible time amid ongoing supply chain disruptions among other manufacturers.
Abbott is one of four major producers that account for roughly 90% of baby formula in the US.
According to Deese, the administration "made clear to all of them that federal resources, including transportation and logistics resources, are available and on call and we are prepared to move assets in coordination with them as and when we identify need."
The FDA has warned parents not to try and make their own baby formula - and to instead call their doctor or seek charities with supplies of milk.
During its six-week investigation, the FDA published a list of problems in March, including issues with sanitary standards and safety, as well as a history of bacterial contamination in several areas of the plant.
Abbott, however, said that its products have not been directly linked to the bacterial infections in children, as samples found at the plant did not match the strains collected from the babies. The company has repeatedly said it's ready to continue manufacturing, however the FDA has not allowed them to do so.

If you think that the food and diesel shortages are bad now, then you will be absolutely horrified by what the globe is experiencing by the end of the year. All over the planet, food production is being crippled by an unprecedented confluence of factors. The war in Ukraine, extremely bizarre weather patterns, nightmarish plagues and a historic fertilizer crisis have combined to create a “perfect storm” that isn’t going away any time soon. As a result, the food that won’t be grown in 2022 will become an extremely severe global problem by the end of this calendar year. Global wheat prices have already risen by more than 40 percent since the start of 2022, but this is just the beginning. Meanwhile, we are facing unthinkable diesel fuel shortages in the United States this summer, and as you will see below there are “no plans” to increase refining capacity in this country for the foreseeable future.
If you had told me six months ago that we would be dealing with the worst baby formula shortage in U.S. history in the middle of 2022, I am not sure that I would have believed you.
But that is precisely what we are now facing. One young couple in Florida searched stores in their area for four hours and couldn’t find anything…
Of course the Biden administration has made sure that there is enough baby formula for migrants that are illegally crossing the border, but for millions of ordinary American families this crisis has become a complete and utter nightmare.
One father actually broke down in tears right in the middle of the baby formula aisle in Walmart because things have become so desperate for his family…
Sadly, we shouldn’t expect any improvement any time soon.
As I discussed last week, the Biden administration shut down one of the most important baby formula manufacturing facilities in this country a while ago, and the CEO of Abbott Nutrition says that it will take a few months to get products back on the shelves once the FDA finally allows them to reopen the plant…
Needless to say, baby formula is not the only thing in short supply right now. As shortages grow and prices spiral out of control, grocery stores are increasingly becoming prime targets for thieves.
In fact, things have already gotten so bad in the Midwest that one major supermarket chain has decided to post armed guards in their stores…
As I have warned for many years, eventually we will see armed guards in supermarkets and on food delivery trucks all over the nation.
In the months ahead, food production is going to be way below expectations all over the globe. The following summary of what farmers are currently facing comes from Zero Hedge…
As I have previously detailed, some countries have already decided to ban certain types of agricultural exports as they brace for the coming global food crisis.
And we just learned that India has now decided to ban the export of all wheat…
This is huge.
Supplies of food are getting tighter with each passing week, and this is already starting to spark food riots all over the world.
For example, we witnessed some very emotional protests in Iran last week…
And in Sri Lanka the citizens are so angry that they are actually burning down the homes of politicians…
This is just the tip of the iceberg.
Things will get really crazy in the months ahead as global food supplies get a whole lot tighter.
Meanwhile, we are being warned that there is likely to be a “diesel fuel shortage on the East Coast” during the months ahead…
Last week, the price of diesel fuel in the U.S. rose to an all-time record high of $5.62 a gallon, and it is only going to go higher.
The biggest reason why we are facing such a supply crunch right now is because there are “simply too few refineries turning oil into usable fuels”…
Surely more refineries are being built to meet the growing demand, right?
Wrong.
Mountains of regulations that have been instituted by our politicians make it extremely difficult to build and operate a new refinery in this country.
As a result, we are being told that “the supply squeeze is only going to get worse” for the foreseeable future…
To a very large degree, we have done this to ourselves.
And as I keep telling my readers, decades of very foolish decisions are starting to catch up with us in a major way.
Our trucks and our trains run on diesel, and so a shortage of diesel will only make our ongoing supply chain crisis even worse.
This nightmare never seems to end, and there will be plenty of pain in the months ahead.

US Gasoline Prices Hit New Record Amid Refinery Bottlenecks And Tight Supplies

US retail gasoline prices soared to another record on Monday as global refineries struggled with adding new capacity ahead of the driving season.
Before diving into Goldman Sachs' new commodity note explaining how global refining will be tight for the foreseeable future, last week, Saudi Energy Minister said, "the bottleneck is now to do with refining ... many refineries in the world, especially in Europe and the US, have closed."
Goldman's commodity analyst Neil Mehta outlines a rash of refinery retirements, reduced Russian energy exports, recovering jet fuel demand, and tight global inventories for products, particularly diesel, have supported higher retail fuel prices.
Mehta points out US product inventories are below a 10% five-year average, refining utilization rates are below normal, global natural gas prices are high, and demand for diesel remains robust.
US product and total inventories are well below a five-year average.
US refining utilization struggles to increase as the driving season begins.
"We believe the oil market needs to price to demand destruction, which will drive the least elastic prices, such as those for distillate, higher," he said, adding tight inventories could last through this year and well into 2023.
While the demand destruction has not begun yet (from what we have seen in the data), the price adjustments for refined products is starting to reprice drastically (in barrel equivalents below for easy comparisons)...
A lack of refinery capacity is the culprit of rising fuel prices. The average cost of US gas prices at the pump on Monday morning is $4.483 and $5.56 for diesel.
Today's refinery bottlenecks may suggest that even higher prices are ahead this summer as the driving season begins.

"Silence The Voices Of Hatred": NY Governor Hochul Uses Buffalo Massacre To Renew Calls For Censorship Of Social Media

Politicians have long viewed tragedies and crises as opportunities not to be “wasted.” Most recently, Samantha Power, Biden’s Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development, told ABC that they did not want to waste the war in Ukraine as a way of pushing green initiatives. She explained to George Stephanopoulos that you should “never let a crisis go to waste.”
Governor Kathy Hochul (D-NY), adopted the same approach to the massacre in Buffalo in renewing calls for censorship on the Internet. While many drew the connection between the shooting and the need for greater gun control measures, Hochul notably went further to demand the curtailment of free speech protections. Speaking later at a church, she pledged to “silence the voices of hatred and racism and white supremacy all over the Internet.”
On CNN’s “State of the Union,” Hochul declared
The reference to “national laws” is the latest example that Democratic politicians are moving beyond their long push for corporate censorship and rediscovering good old-fashioned state censorship. Both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have recently called for legislation internationally and domestically to limit free speech.
As it became more likely that Elon Musk could buy Twitter, there was a notable shift in the comments of pro-censorship figures. Hillary Clinton went to Twitter to call on the European Union to quickly pass the Digital Services Act in Europe to force censorship “before it’s too late.” Since figures like Clinton cannot count on corporate surrogates to censor, they are returning to state censorship. If the DSA is passed, they hope to force Twitter to resume censoring material – a warning echoed by EU officials this week.
At the same time, the United Kingdom is pushing its own Online Safety Act and recently Musk was summoned to Parliament to answer for his alarming suggestion of restoring free speech on social media. The British are assuring citizens to “stay calm and censor on” despite Musk’s pledge. It is threatening to take ten percent of the company’s profits if Musk does not censor users.
Now, Hochul is trying to rally voters to the cause of censorship in the wake of the Buffalo tragedy. To defend free speech in response to such a call is to risk being denounced as supporting violent extremists or dishonoring the fallen.
The government would then be able to determine what constitutes “unfettered sharing of hate information on the internet.” Indeed, the Biden Administration already created a Disinformation Governance Board that is eager to start that work with great eagerness. It may be a bitter pill for some who value free speech, but it is hard to defend the abstraction of free speech in the aftermath of a massacre. That is why this is a crisis that cannot be wasted. As the Biden’s Administration’s “Mary Poppins of Disinformation” might say, a crisis “helps the censorship medicine go down in a most delightful way.”

In its organization, funding, operation, structure, and rhetoric the Integrity Initiative is the single best template for understanding how the entire hornets’ nest of NGOs, journalists, and “national security” bureaucrats work secretly and in concert to wage psychological warfare against citizens of the West. One cannot understand how the Disinformation Industry functions without understanding the little-known (and now defunct) Integrity Initiative.
Thankfully, before its demise, hackers leaked a huge swath of internal documents from the Integrity Initiative. More on that leak in a moment, but for now, here is an official description of the “clusters” from one of those leaked documents:

Another name that appears alongside Nina Jankowicz’s in the leaked documents as a member of the “inner core” of the U.K. cluster dealing with Russia is Anne Applebaum. Revolver briefly touched upon Applebaum’s apparent involvement in the Integrity Initiative in an earlier piece.
Applebaum was last seen refusing to comment on the coordinated cover-up of Hunter Biden’s laptop. Applebaum’s apparent fellow “inner core” cluster wingman Nina Jankowicz repeatedly amplified the U.S. intelligence community’s discredited claim that the Hunter Biden laptop was a Russian disinformation operation:

In 2018, Spain’s ruling party attempted to appoint Pedro Baños as head of the country’s national security department. The Integrity Initiative’s Spanish cluster as well as several U.K. associates immediately leapt into action to sabotage the appointment of this allegedly “pro-Kremlin” official. A couple things are especially noteworthy about the operations described above.
First, we note the sinister irony that the NATO-funded Integrity Initiative, whose ostensible purpose is to “Defend Democracy Against Disinformation,” was caught red-handed conducting a secretive influence operation to meddle in the internal politics of Spain, a democratic NATO member.
Second, we note how crucial — indeed, indispensable — the social media platform Twitter was to the influence operations in question. It is precisely the importance of Twitter as a theater for U.S., U.K., and NATO backed psychological influence operations that informed our analysis of Elon Musk’s attempt to purchase the platform. We weren’t exaggerating when we described Elon’s threat to allow free speech and transparency on Twitter as a “declaration of war” against the Regime. As the Integrity Initiative’s use of the platform shows, Twitter’s value to U.S.-aligned intelligence agencies as a friendly ground for influence operations far exceeds its nominal value as a technology company.
Throughout this article so far, we have repeatedly referred to the Integrity Initiative as “state-funded.” This isn’t idle speculation. The Integrity Initiative took pains to mask the nature of its operations. Its listed address was in Scotland, despite actually operating in London. The Integrity Initiative’s funding came from a Scotland-based non-profit, the Institute for Statecraft, of which it operated under as a subsidiary. The Institute for Statecraft presents itself as an independent organization with a wide array of backers, but in reality the vast majority of its funding comes from the U.K. government. In its 2018-2019 fiscal year (running March 2018-March 2019), the Institute reported 2.2 million pounds in income.
How much money did the Institute for Statecraft receive from the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) in that time? 2.2 million pounds! By the way, at the same time, the FCO oversaw both the GCHQ (Britain’s equivalent of the NSA) and MI6 (its equivalent of the CIA).
As venture capitalist Marc Andreessen once asked:
The answer, it turns out, is you, the American taxpayer. Besides receiving funds from the British FCO, the Integrity Initiative also received funds directly from NATO, aka the U.S. taxpayer, in addition to funds from the United States State Department.
Funding wasn’t exclusively government-based, though, because in a fitting symbol of the growing tether between Big Tech and the security state, the Institute did receive a small chunk of money from Facebook, as the above document shows.
Perhaps more ominous than the fact that Facebook funded the Integrity Initiative is the fact that the name Ben Nimmo appears as an apparent member of the Integrity Initiative’s UK Cluster, right there with Nina Jankowicz (see Ben’s name the third from the top in the UK Inner Core Russia cluster).
At the time of the leak, Ben Nimmo worked for a group called the Digital Forensic Research Lab (DFRLab). The DFRLab is a subsidiary of the Atlantic Council, an NGO which is also funded by the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office, NATO, and the State Department. The group brags that it has “operationalized the study of disinformation by exposing falsehoods and fake news.”
You know what that means: Nimmo and DFR have become notorious for accusing all sorts of journalists and even random civilians of being “Russian bots.”
The Integrity Initiative’s leaked handbook identified Ben Nimmo’s DFR Lab, along with Buzzfeed and a handful of other organizations, as friendly outlets to rely upon when conducting its influence operations.

In his classic dystopian novel 1984, George Orwell famously wrote, “If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face—for ever.” This striking image served as a potent symbol for totalitarianism in the 20th Century. But as Caylan Ford recently observed, with the advent of digital health passports in the emerging biomedical security state, the new symbol of totalitarian repression is “not a boot, but an algorithm in the cloud: emotionless, impervious to appeal, silently shaping the biomass.”
These new digital surveillance and control mechanisms will be no less oppressive for being virtual rather than physical. Contact tracing apps, for example, have proliferated with at least 120 different apps in used in 71 different states, and 60 other digital contact-tracing measures have been used across 38 countries. There is currently no evidence that contact tracing apps or other methods of digital surveillance have helped to slow the spread of covid; but as with so many of our pandemic policies, this does not seem to have deterred their use.
Other advanced technologies were deployed in what one writer has called, with a nod to Orwell, “the stomp reflex,” to describe governments’ propensity to abuse emergency powers.
Twenty-two countries used surveillance drones to monitor their populations for covid rule-breakers, others deployed facial recognition technologies, twenty-eight countries used internet censorship and thirteen countries resorted to internet shutdowns to manage populations during covid. A total of thirty-two countries have used militaries or military ordnances to enforce rules, which has included casualties. In Angola, for example, police shot and killed several citizens while imposing a lockdown.
Orwell explored the power of language to shape our thinking, including the power of sloppy or degraded language to distort thought. He articulated these concerns not only in his novels Animal Farm and 1984 but in his classic essay, “Politics and the English Language,” where he argues that “if thought corrupts language, language can also corrupt thought.”
The totalitarian regime depicted in 1984 requires citizens to communicate in Newspeak, a carefully controlled language of simplified grammar and restricted vocabulary designed to limit the individual’s ability to think or articulate subversive concepts such as personal identity, self-expression, and free will. With this bastardization of language, complete thoughts are reduced to simple terms conveying only simplistic meaning.
Newspeak eliminates the possibility of nuance, rendering impossible consideration and communication of shades of meaning. The Party also intends with Newspeak’s short words to make speech physically automatic and thereby make speech largely unconscious, which further diminishes the possibility of genuinely critical thought.
In the novel, character Syme discusses his editorial work on the latest edition of the Newspeak Dictionary:
Several terms of disparagement were repeatedly deployed during the pandemic, phrases whose only function was to halt the possibility of critical thought. These included, among others, ‘covid denier,’ ‘anti-vax,’ and ‘conspiracy theorist’. Some commentators will doubtless mischaracterize this book, and particularly this chapter, using these and similar terms—ready-made shortcuts that save critics the trouble of reading the book or critically engaging my evidence or arguments.
A brief comment on each of these may be helpful in illustrating how they function.
The first term, ‘covid denier,’ requires little attention. Those who sling this charge at any critic of our pandemic response recklessly equate covid with the Holocaust, which suggests that antisemitism continues to infect discourse on both the right and the left. We need not detain ourselves with more commentary on this phrase.
The epithet ‘anti-vax,’ deployed to characterize anyone who raises questions about the mass vaccination campaign or the safety and efficacy of covid vaccines, functions similarly as a conversation stopper rather than an accurately descriptive label. When people ask me whether I am anti-vax for challenging vaccine mandates I can only respond that the question makes about as much sense to me as the question, “Dr. Kheriaty, are you ‘pro-medication’ or ‘anti-medication’?” The answer is obviously contingent and nuanced: which medication, for which patient or patient population, under what circumstances, and for what indications? There is clearly no such thing as a medication, or a vaccine for that matter, that’s always good for everyone in every circumstance and all the time.
Regarding the term “conspiracy theorist,” Agamben notes that its indiscriminate deployment “demonstrates a surprising historical ignorance.” For anyone familiar with history knows that the stories historians recount retrace and reconstruct the actions of individuals, groups, and factions working in common purpose to achieve their goals using all available means. He mentions three examples from among thousands in the historical record.
In 415 B.C. Alcibiades deployed his influence and money to convince the Athenians to embark on an expedition to Sicily, a venture that turned out disastrously and marked the end of Athenian supremacy. In retaliation, Alcibiades enemies hired false witnesses and conspired against him to condemn him to death. In 1799 Napoleon Bonaparte violated his oath of fidelity to the Republic’s Constitution, overthrowing the directory in a coup, assumed full powers, and ending the Revolution. Days prior, he had met with co-conspirators to fine-tune their strategy against the anticipated opposition of the Council of Five Hundred.
Closer to our own day, he mentions the March on Rome by 25,000 Italian fascists in October 1922. Leading up to this even, Mussolini prepared the march with three collaborators, initiated contacts with the Prime Minister and powerful figures from the business world (some even maintain that Mussolini secretly met with the King to explore possible allegiances). The fascists rehearsed their occupation of Rome by a military occupation of Ancona two months prior.
Countless other examples, from the murder of Julius Caesar to the Bolshevik revolution, will occur to any student of history. In all these cases, individuals gathering in groups or parties to strategize goals and tactics, anticipate obstacles, then act resolutely to achieve their aims.
Agamben acknowledges that this does not mean it is always necessary to aver to ‘conspiracies’ to explain historical events. “But anyone who labelled a historical who tried to reconstruct in detail the plots that triggered such events as a ‘conspiracy theorist’ would most definitely be demonstrating their own ignorance, if not idiocy.”
Anyone who mentioned “The Great Reset” in 2019 was accused of buying into a conspiracy theory—that is, until World Economic Forum founder and executive chairman Klaus Schwab published a book in 2020 laying out the WEF agenda with the helpful title,Covid-19: The Great Reset. Following new revelations about the lab leak hypothesis, U.S. funding of gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, vaccine safety issues willfully suppressed, and coordinated media censorship and government smear campaigns against dissident voices, it seems the only difference between a conspiracy theory and credible news was about six months.

While the price of gasoline continues to soar, the Biden Administration continues to cancel oil and gas leases. The Biden Administration has been very clear that, in their estimation, we do not have a supply problem but a demand problem – we can only solve the problem by doing less, producing less, and lowering our expectations for our material needs and future ambitions.
Joe Biden won 81 million votes running a Presidential campaign from his basement. He figures you can do everything you need to do from your basement. Just stay home!
And if you think the pain at the pump is bad, just wait until you see what the price of electricity and natural gas are going to be. Heating and cooling houses are going to become prohibitively expensive.
Wages, in the meantime, are going to remain stagnant. You may not have seen it in the news, but our economy contracted 1.4% last quarter. If it contracts this quarter, then in a couple of months, we will be told we are in a recession. We are actually in a recession now – it just is not official yet. You have to be in a recession for six months before the government will call it one.
Note that much of China has been in lockdown for over a month. Cities as large as Shanghai are in complete lockdown, including most of China’s manufacturing centers. One month is how long it takes for ships to get from China to America’s ports, and those ships are not coming. We have about a two-month backlog of shipping at our ports. As critical components start to fall out of stock today, and as other things start to fall out of stock over the coming months, our economy has no way to go but down.
Our President gave a speech the other day admonishing the GOP, in which he said, “Remember those long lines you’d see on television? People lining up in all kinds of vehicles just to get a box of food in their trunk? How quickly we forget. People were hurting. And what did the MAGA crowd want to do? Forget it. Forget it. My God, this is the United States of America. The idea that people would have to wait in line an hour or an hour-and-a-half to get a box of food in their trunk — it’s just unbelievable.”
The President literally SCREAMED at us about this, but he has either the time frame or the country wrong. Ours is not a country where people have traditionally waited for food. Ours is a country where food has traditionally waited for people. Joe Biden does not remember waiting in line for food, because it never happened here. Even in the depths of the Great Depression, Americans still had access to food. We had shortages of certain items at certain times during the Covid lockdowns, but even then, America never ran out of food. The images Joe Biden ripped into Republicans about – we did not forget them, but rather, they never actually happened. Joe Biden made all of that up out of thin air.
But those lines will happen: Joe Biden was not screaming about America’s past so much as he was screaming about America’s future. It is a future that we will soon see.
China, under this administration, has stopped shipping phosphate-based fertilizers to the rest of the world. China is the primary source of phosphate-based fertilizers, so this move effectively took phosphate-based fertilizers off the global market.
As long as we are talking about China, let me go off on a brief tangent… in 2018, the FDA inspected a generic lisinopril coming from China and found that it was contaminated with a carcinogenic metal compound at 200 times safe levels. The FDA forced a recall of that product.
The EPA learned a valuable lesson from that recall. Today, the EPA no longer inspects generic pharmaceuticals coming from China out of a fear that if they inspect, they would have to pull so much medication off shelves to cause a massive shortage of life-saving medications in our country. If you are taking prescription drugs (and just for the record – I’m on Lisinopril), you are likely ingesting poison. Thank you, China, for the poison pills, and thank you, Joe Biden, for having the FDA do nothing about it…
But back to fertilizers…
Russia is the 2nd largest producer of potash-based fertilizers in the world. Ukraine is the 4th largest. The Ukraine War, which only happened because Putin viewed Biden as monumentally weak (the way we left Afghanistan may have had something to do with that), has taken two of the largest producers of potash off the global market.
Nitrogen-based fertilizers are a byproduct of oil refining. Since the West refines less and less oil every year (Biden’s EPA shuttered five American refineries just this year, and has a stated goal of using environmental policy to shutter more and more refineries until we have none left), we have but a dwindling supply of nitrogen-based fertilizers.
Guess what happens to the supply of food when there is a global shortage of fertilizer?
America is lucky. We can survive with nothing but manure as a fertilizer. But Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia will be going through famines this year, and though we will have food, it will be in short supply, and it will be very expensive. We will see Joe Biden’s food lines. That’s not a joke – you can expect to stand in one when you can no longer afford both to heat your home and to feed your family. And when it happens, it will be entirely Joe Biden’s fault. None of this would have happened had Joe Biden lost the election, and I want to drive that into the heads of every American every day until the Disinformation Governance Board of the Department of Homeland Security shuts me down for the crime of speaking truth to power.
They have power. We have truth. We’d better use truth to retake power, or this country is finished. Everyone is looking for the next Ronald Reagan to save us, but my friends – it might take the next Augustus Pinochet instead.
I want to be clear that I am not calling for a military coup, but for the first time in my life, I can see a future where a military coup may become necessary to restore our Constitutional Republic. And that scares the hell out of me. It was not Julius Caesar that created the empire.
Julius Caesar really did take control of Rome to give Rome back to the Romans (the members of the Senate had grown so rich as to have largely taken ownership of Rome), and the Senate killed him for it. His great-nephew and heir, Julius Octavian (who ruled as ‘Augustus Caesar’), created the empire. He probably felt forced by political necessity to do so, being one of the most benevolent emperors in recorded history.
The only military coup that ever willingly ceded power back to the people in all of recorded history was that of Augustus Pinochet. Augustus Caesar never gave Rome back to the Romans; Rome remained an empire until it fell. If history teaches a lesson, it is that even where military coups are performed to restore Constitutional Republics, while the coup may succeed, any attempt at restoring a Constitutional Republic generally fails.
In the present day, without ample supplies of fertilizer, much of the world will see famines of Biblical proportions. If you are old enough to remember what happened in Ethiopia in the 1980s – it is going to be like that over much of the planet.
And our President blames a party that is not in power for food lines we have not even seen yet.
And to make sure you do not blame Joe Biden when famine happens, we now have the Disinformation Governance Board of the Department of Homeland Security (aka the Ministry of Truth) to censor dissent.
Don’t worry – the White House has a solution to all that ails us: don’t drive and don’t eat. Don’t do anything. Lower your expectations, and you’ll be fine. Be grateful for less – be grateful you have anything at all.
You see, the problem is not that you are suddenly waking up with half the buying power you had before, or that you will wake up one day soon with half the buying power you have today.
Oh no – that is not the problem at all. The problem is that you used to be rich compared to what you are today, and you are rich today compared to what you will be in the future. Only the elite can be rich. You, dear serf, need to understand your place, so lower your expectations, avoid doing things that cause you to have to use gas pumps, and praise your Dear Leader for whatever meager rations he or she provides you with.

I do not see rising grocery prices in the polling data either, but unlike Nancy Pelosi, I am smart enough not to look for rising grocery prices in polling data. I look for rising grocery prices in the grocery store, and lo and behold, those of us who do not have people to do their shopping for us see grocery prices exploding.
The last time Nancy Pelosi had to buy her own groceries was back when the Beatles were still around; she has absolutely no clue what it is like to see rising prices.
Joe Biden responds to all of this by blaming political opposition, claiming that Republicans have gone ‘Ultra-MAGA’ and have become ‘the most extreme political group in history.’
Apparently, forming a Ministry of Truth is mainstream. Free speech – that’s extremism!
Joe Biden has gone from, “If you don’t know you are voting for me, y’aint black,” to, “If you do not agree with me, you are the most dangerous threat this nation has ever faced and need to be censored by my new Ministry of Truth, and you might even go to jail.”
The more Joe Biden speaks, the worse he sounds, not only in terms of the unintelligible blabbering coming from his mouth (“The number one threat is the strength, and that strength that we’ve built is inflation”), but also in the sheer stupidity of the things that he, and those around him, want to do. He actually thinks he can spend his way out of inflation. That’s like trying to get sober by drinking more.
Ironically, the only thing preventing Joe Biden’s poll numbers from sinking even lower, is the fact that he cannot articulate the stupid ideas his administration keeps coming up with.
And it is not just him. The newest member of the Supreme Court would like to use her position to champion women’s rights, but she thinks the best way to do that is to deny that any such thing as a woman exists.
What is a woman? She claims not to know… What constitutes “Women’s Rights” when nobody knows what a woman is? Without a definition for the term, the only woman’s right she can logically defend is the right for a man to claim to be a woman. And of course, she is all for that!
As for actual women’s rights? What is a woman? Women don’t even exist anymore, so they have no rights! The science tells us that men make better women than women do – just look at sports. And while the men dominate men’s as well as women’s sports, you can make them sandwiches. So sayeth the woke version of Women’s Liberation!
Do you want to be woke or awake? Choose carefully – you cannot be both. If you are awake, you know what a woman is, and you still believe they have rights, such as the right not to be forced to compete with, or to share locker rooms with, men. If you are woke, life is easier. All the woke have to do is to bend in the wind, giving way to whatever their overlords tell them, facts be damned.
We live in a world where the only actual woman’s right is suddenly bestowed upon men. You would think George Orwell wrote that, but he did not. The Democratic National Committee did. But give Orwell some credit – he surely gave them the idea.

A well-funded cabal………
Dinesh D’Souza exposed THOUSANDS of people packing HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of ballots into election drop-boxes. How do fact-checkers respond? Do they say the videos are fake? No. They do not call the videos fake because they cannot call the videos fake – the video evidence is incontrovertible. So what do the fact-checkers say? They say that stuffing the ballot boxes was LEGAL!
“Nothing to see here, folks. We did not cheat the election. We merely violated Federal law (including the Constitution) to illegally change the rules in ways that predetermined the results” – THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is the actual claim, except that the wording is not ‘predetermined the results,’ but ‘ensured that America did not make a calamitous mistake.’
It’s all double-speak. The left denies rigging the election but admits to having ‘fortified the election.’ Laws only exist to the degree that they can be weaponized against the political right – the left ignored the law in the 2020 election and did whatever was necessary to win, and then used the law like a club to bludgeon the political right into going along with it. That’s what really happened, and if we stand for it it’ll happen again. They’ll give us the midterms so that they can say elections are real, and then in 2024, it’ll be Yogi Berra’s “deja vu all over again,” except that it won’t be funny.
Look around you. Look at your receipt the next time you go to the grocery store. Look at our world in flames. Look at how we pulled out of Afghanistan. Look at the cost of gasoline.
The ‘well-funded cabal’ that thought it knew better than you did who should run the country – I double-dog dare someone to try to tell me how anyone in their right mind can claim that the ‘well-funded cabal’ did not make a calamitous mistake.
And we still have two and a half more years to go.

Gov. Gavin Newsom and the Air Resources Board are boasting about California’s shift to zero-emission vehicles but the reality of making it happen is daunting.
Gov. Gavin Newsom and the California Air Resources Board publicly boasted last week about making great strides toward eliminating fossil fuels and their greenhouse gases.
The board released “a draft plan that, when final, will guide the state’s transition to a clean energy economy, drastically reduce the use of fossil fuels, achieve carbon neutrality by 2045 or sooner, and significantly clean the state’s air especially in disadvantaged communities disproportionately burdened by persistent pollution.”
Much of the plan is concentrated on transportation — particularly cars and trucks — which is the largest single emitter of carbon dioxide and other pollutants.
“That means rapidly moving to zero-emission transportation, electrifying the cars, buses, trains, and trucks that now constitute California’s single largest source of planet-warming pollution,” ARB said.
Newsom, meanwhile, crowed that with new state subsidies, sales of battery-powered zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) have exceeded 16% of all new vehicle sales so far this year, more than double the proportion in 2020. He also noted that Californians make half of nationwide purchases of electric vehicles.
“Our state is on the frontlines of extreme weather, and we’re taking aggressive steps to protect Californians from the costs of climate change — transitioning away from the big polluters fueling this crisis and towards clean energy,” Newsom said. “These incentives make it easier and cheaper to make that transition.”
This year’s increase in electric car sales was, no doubt, spurred in part by a steep hike in gasoline prices, as well as subsidies – which poses an interesting dichotomy. Newsom has decried those fuel price spikes and wants the state to offset them with payments to motorists, which would reduce some of their motivation to buy electric cars.

Moreover, were California to eventually ban sales of gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles and go 100% ZEVs, as Newsom also advocates, charging their batteries would impose immense new burdens on an electric power grid that’s already strained to meet demand.
By happenstance, as Newsom and the air board were issuing their upbeat messages about the shift, a financial data website, Forbes Advisor, was revealing that California has one of the nation’s worst records on providing recharging sites for ZEV owners.
Its study, drawn from U.S. Department of Energy data and numbers from all 50 states, found that North Dakota is the nation’s most ZEV-friendly state with one charging station for every 3.18 electric vehicles.
Wyoming, Rhode Island, Maine and West Virginia round out the top five.
And California? It has the fourth highest ratio, just one station for every 31.2 ZEVs. New Jersey is the least accommodating to ZEV owners, with one station for every 46.16 electric vehicles.
Okay, so California is lacking when it comes to infrastructure needed to support the ZEV nirvana that Newsom and the ARB envision, both in terms of electrical power supply and sites to connect that power to electric cars.
However, the situation may actually be worse.
Again by happenstance, last week brought us evidence that not only is California failing to provide enough ZEV charging stations, but those it does have often don’t work.
David Rempel, a retired professor of bioengineering from UC Berkeley, and a team of volunteers tested 181 public Bay Area charging stations with 657 plug-in kiosks and found 73% in working order but 23% had inoperable screens, payment failures or broken connector cables and in 5% cables were too short to reach vehicles recharging inlets.
California’s much-vaunted shift to electric cars may turn out to be one of the state government’s many high-concept programs that become managerial disasters, another Department of Motor Vehicles or Employment Development Department.

Hospitals in the United States are on high alert, with some doctors prioritizing patients in critical condition as the prolonged COVID-19 lockdown in Shanghai has caused a global shortage of chemicals used in medical imaging.
Some of the largest U.S. hospitals said earlier this month they were facing significant shortages of iodinated contrast media products, which are dyes given to patients so that their internal organs and vessels can be picked up by CT scans, X-rays, and radiography.
The dwindling supply was due to the temporary closure of the production facility of General Electric’s health care unit in Shanghai, a trade hub that has been locked down for nearly two months. Though the factory has been allowed to resume operation gradually, the Greater New York Hospital Association warned that an 80 percent reduction in supply might last through the end of June, according to a May 5 statement.
Some hospitals have started to conserve use of the medical dye. For example, the University of Alabama at Birmingham Health System said they activated a response to aggressively ration the supply of intravenous contrast to address the shortage, according to a May 7 statement. The efforts mean doctors are prioritizing urgent scans and postponing elective tests.

From Apple, Microsoft, and Tesla, to Adidas, Estée Lauder, and Starbucks, global companies have warned of the spillover effects of China’s protracted COVID-19 lockdowns.
As the fast-moving Omicron variant spread across the country, Chinese cities, from large to small, have imposed various degrees of restrictions under the regime’s “zero-COVID” playbook.
The biggest lockdown in Shanghai led to many of the city’s 25 million residents enduring a food shortage. Officials on May 15 said the city has started to reopen, but residents said they still couldn’t step out of their homes.
As of May 10, some 41 cities across the country were under partial or full lockdown, according to estimates by Japanese bank Nomura, accounting for almost 30 percent of China’s economic output.

With factory workers and consumers stuck at home and many businesses forced to suspend operations, China’s export growth last month was at a two-year low. Exports in dollar terms decelerated to 3.9 percent in April from a year earlier, tumbling from a 14.7 percent growth in March, China’s customs reported on May 9.
The sluggish figures from the trade sector, which accounts for about a third of gross domestic product, added to a string of signs that the world’s second-largest economy was slowing down.
Factory activity had already contracted at a sharper pace in April, industry surveys show.
Chinese authorities promised to allow some businesses to resume operations within a so-called “closed loop” system where workers live where they work. But only 19 percent of 460 German companies have permits to operate under such conditions, according to a survey by the German Chamber of Commerce in China published on May 12. Of those allowed to produce under lockdown, facilities are running at less than half of their capacity, on average.
“Closed loop productions are inacceptable as a long-term solution for German companies to operate in China,” Maximilian Butek, the executive director of the chamber, said in a statement.
The flash survey, echoing the results of recent findings by the U.S. and European business groups in China, underscored signs that foreign employees were increasingly planning to leave the country due to the regime’s strict COVID-19 strategy.
Wary Investors
Strict COVID-19 curbs and the resulting supply chain chaos have rattled foreign business confidence, according to several surveys by foreign lobby groups.
A recent survey by the American Chamber of Commerce in China found that over half of its 121 members have already delayed or reduced investments as a result of the lockdown. Some 51 percent have already decreased their revenue projections for the year, according to the poll conducted from late April to early May.
“Revenue forecasts for this year are down, but, more worryingly, members don’t see any light at the end of the tunnel,” said AmCham China Chairman Colm Rafferty in the statement.
A gloomier picture was painted by European businesses in the country. The number of companies weighing a shift of investments out of China reached its highest proportion in a decade, according to a survey by the European Chamber of Commerce in China published on May 5.
The survey, conducted in late April, found that nearly a quarter of the 372 respondents were considering moving current or planned investments out of China, more than double the number at the beginning of the year. About 60 percent of businesses have cut their business revenue projections this year, while 92 percent said they had been affected by recent port closures, a decline in road freight, and rising sea freight costs.

Stronger Reverberations
At a May 5 meeting of the Chinese Communist Party’s most powerful body, the Politburo Standing Committee, Chinese leader Xi Jinping issued warnings against anyone who criticized, questioned, or distorted the regime’s zero-COVID policy.
“We have won the battle to defend Wuhan,” Xi said, according to the official news outlet Xinhua. “We can certainly win the battle to defend greater Shanghai.”
Economists have repeatedly warned of the consequences of the strict COVID-19 curbs. Top Chinese economist Xu Jianguo warned at a May 8 webinar that the economic impact of the latest outbreak was 10 times more severe than in early 2020, when the regime initially locked down Wuhan, South China Morning Post reported.
He estimated the curbs, including lockdown and travel restrictions, have cost the country $2.68 trillion this year, the report said.
Even with the threat of exodus by foreign investors and a possible economic recession, the communist regime will not give up its zero-COVID policy, as maintaining its power is its ultimate priority, according to Xie. He said that in the worst-case scenario, China could end up going back to being a planned economy.
Gordon Chang, author and a senior fellow of Gatestone Institute, said Xi is likely to double down on his zero-COVID policy if he secures an unprecedented third term in office at an important party conclave this autumn.
“China is determined to apply Mao Zedong’s man over nature narrative,” Chang said in a recent interview with The Epoch Times. “It just isn’t working.”

There hasn't been nearly enough attention being paid to the World Health Organization's Pandemic Treaty. This is, of course, by design. They don't want the world to pay any attention to it until it's too late, and that may be the case already. That's not to say we should give up and stop fighting. We should fight until it's signs in hopes that it won't be. We should fight after it's signed in hopes of negating it. And we should be prepared to fight when they use it to come for us, because they will.
With zero coverage by corporate media, scant coverage on conservative media, and shockingly little coverage from alternative media (which I'll discuss below), it's clear that the New World Order's goal of keeping people in the dark is being achieved. It's my hope that by illuminating the most dangerous aspect of the treaty, we'll be able to shake some patriots awake and get more attention paid to this existential threat.

Sri Lanka Has Only 1 Day Of Petrol Stocks Left, Says New Prime Minister

Sri Lanka has only enough petrol for one day and urgently needs $75 million in foreign exchange to pay for essential imports within the next couple of days, the country’s new prime minister said on Monday.
Wickremesinghe said that three shipments of crude oil and furnace oil “have been anchored within the maritime zone of Sri Lanka” because the government was unable to raise dollars to pay for them.
While shipments of diesel and petrol using the Indian credit line may provide relief in the coming days, Wickremesinghe warned that Sri Lanka could see power outages lasting up to 15 hours a day.
The country also faces a severe shortage of medicines and surgical equipment, particularly heart disease medication and the anti-rabies vaccine. Sri Lanka currently owes 34 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($94 million) to pharmaceutical suppliers.
Wickremesinghe said the central bank will have to print money to pay the wages of state-sector employees, though he cautioned that doing so would cause the currency to depreciate.
He also proposed privatizing the Sri Lankan Airlines.

Wickremesinghe was appointed prime minister on May 12 after violent protests led to the resignation of Mahinda Rajapaksa, the brother of sitting President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
At least nine people died and 219 others were injured after ruling-party supporters attacked anti-government protesters on May 9. Armed troops are now authorized to shoot anyone seen looting public property or causing damage.
A police spokesperson said Sunday that 230 people were arrested for violating curfew, attacking the public, and causing damage. Of those, 68 people have been remanded in custody.
China’s Role in Sri Lanka’s Economic Crisis
Sri Lanka is on the verge of bankruptcy, with its foreign exchange reserves plummeting by 70 percent over the past two years. The government said on April 12 that it was suspending debt repayments.
Sri Lanka is a key part of the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), which other countries have criticized as a “debt trap” for smaller nations. Several of its infrastructure projects funded by foreign investments have failed to bring revenue, plunging the country into debt.
In December 2017, the Sri Lankan government leased the entire Hambantota Port to China for 99 years to convert its owed loans of $1.4 billion into equity. The move has led to thousands of protesters rallying against the deal.
Sri Lankan MP Harsha de Silva said Sunday that the government had no choice but to “figure out a way to come out of the debt” accumulated from the infrastructural projects.
About 10 percent of Sri Lanka’s $51 billion external debt is owed to China. Sri Lanka had requested China to help restructure its debt obligations and $2.5 billion in financial support. In May, the Sri Lankan government said Beijing extended a total aid package of 500 million yuan ($76 million).

Why the Centralization of Health via the WHO Should Be Resisted by Civil Society
Dr. Silvia Behrendt is the founder of the Global Health Responsibility Agency for accountability and transparency for health decisions. She was previously a consultant to the WHO on the IHR and wrote her Ph.D. about the executive authority of the WHO-DC during PHEIC.

Background
The International Health Regulations (IHR) was adopted by 194 member states of the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2005. They enable the WHO to declare a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) if it decides that an infectious disease outbreak has occurred in a member state, but with the consent of the member state. The World Council for Health (WCH) acknowledges this aspect of the current regulations because it recognizes the sovereignty of nations that adopted the IHR. But that is about to change.
Key Issues to Understand
On January 18th 2022, the United States Department of Health and Human Services proposed amendments to the IHR. These amendments give control over the declaration of a public health emergency in any member state to the WHO Director-General – even over the objection of the member state. The Director-General communicated the text of the proposed amendments on 20 January 2022, via a circular letter to State Parties.
The proposed IHR amendments also cede control to WHO “regional directors,” who are given the authority to declare a Public Health Emergency of Regional Concern (PHERC). Moreover, the proposed amendments allow the Director-General to ring an international alarm bell, by unilaterally issuing an “Intermediate Public Health Alert (IPHA).”
Properly understood, the proposed IHR amendments are directed towards establishing a globalist architecture of worldwide health surveillance, reporting, and management. Consistent with a top-down view of governance, the public will not have opportunities to provide input or criticism concerning the amendments. This, of course, is a direct violation of the basic tenets of democracy and can be compared to the separate new pandemic treaty.
Summary of Selected Proposed Amendments to the IHR
The WHO intends to amend 13 IHR articles: 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 18, 48, 49, 53, 59
- Increased surveillance: Under Article 5, the WHO will develop early warning criteria that will allow it to establish a risk assessment for a member state, which means that it can use the type of modeling, simulation, and predictions that exaggerated the risk from Covid-19 over two years ago. Once the WHO creates its assessment, it will communicate it to inter-governmental organizations and other member states.
- 48-hour deadline: Under Articles 6, 10, 11, and 13, a member state is given 48 hours to respond to a WHO risk assessment and accept or reject on-site assistance. However, in practice, this timeline can be reduced to hours, forcing it to comply or face international disapproval lead by the WHO and potentially unfriendly member states.
- Secret sources: Under Article 9, the WHO can rely on undisclosed sources for information leading it to declare a public health emergency. Those sources could include Big Pharma, WHO funders such as the Gates Foundation and the Gates-founded-and-funded GAVI Alliance, as well as others seeking to monopolize power.
- Weakened Sovereignty: Under Article 12, when the WHO receives undisclosed information concerning a purported public health threat in a member state, the Director-General may (not must) consult with the WHO Emergency Committee and the member state. However, s/he can unilaterally declare a potential or actual public health emergency of international concern. The Director General’s authority replaces national sovereign authority. This can later be used to enforce sanctions on nations.
- Rejecting the amendments: Under Article 59, after the amendments are adopted by the World Health Assembly, a member state has six months to reject them. This means November, this year. If the member state fails to act, it will be deemed to have accepted the amendments in full. Any rejection or reservation received by the Director-General after the expiry of that period shall have no force and effect.
The WCH opposes the unnecessary and dystopian move toward centralized control of public health. This proven harmful model assumes that only one entity, WHO, understands how to manage the health policy of every state – and by implication, the health of each and every individual. It also assumes, incorrectly, that Big Pharma’s controversial model of medicine which is the WHO’s preferred model – is the expert guide to better health and wellness.
These proposed IHR amendments will be voted upon at the next World Health Assembly, which will take place in Geneva, May 22 to 28, 2022. The official agenda item is 16.2. It is not clear if the event will be broadcast for transparency. Thus, the WCH believes that it is essential to campaign against the proposed amendments and to build alternative pathways.
Why People Must Take Action Together
Due to the influence of private money at the WHO, a review in the Journal of Integrative Medicine & Therapy stated that the corruption of the WHO is the “biggest threat to the world’s public health of our time.” This is particularly true in relation to WHO drug recommendations, including its “list of essential medicines,” which a growing number of people believe is biased and unreliable.
Moreover, even though WHO’s documents highlight voice, agency, and social participation as drivers of equity and democracy, it is unknown World Health Assembly delegates who get to make decisions for us. To date, 13 days away from the World Health Assembly 75, the secretive list of each country’s delegates has been not been published. This is censorship.
Given consistent evidence that WHO is heavily conflicted and controlled by various industries, its usefulness as a guide to public health must be critically re-evaluated, while alternative paradigms and models for ethical health guidance and human rights are built.
Global #StopTheWho Campaign Activated
It is going to take each and all of us to campaign against the power grab through the IHR Amendments, this May, and onwards to November – just six months away. In the best campaigns for human rights, multi-pronged strategies are effective. Here are some ideas:

- Act: Campaign through rallies, political mobilization, legal notices, and cases, etc.
- Collaborate with health freedom coalitions such as the World Council for Health

- Engage global indigenous leadership to take a united stand against the WHO’s IHR
- Notify World Health Assembly country delegates to oppose the IHR amendments
- Activate people’s parliaments, legislatures or referendums to oppose power grabs

America's Electric Grid Has A $2 Trillion Problem

The U.S. power grid is strained as-is, with disruption and outages becoming more frequent in many regions where local grid operators struggle to keep the lights on in case of extreme winter weather or heat. Those events would only become more frequent with climate change, such as the current early heat wave in Texas, which is testing ERCOT’s ability to withstand a surge in power demand.
In recent days, grid operators from a growing number of states started warning about electricity shortages as grids cannot cope with the imbalance between demand and supply heading into summer. California warned last week that it would need to produce more electricity than it is currently producing to avoid blackouts. The Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO), the nonprofit charged with operating the power grid in 15 U.S. states and Manitoba, issued a warning about outages during the summer.
If grids are warning they may not be able to cope with a surge in power demand now, what would they do if renewables were to become the dominant source of electricity generation (provided that the Biden Administration’s goals of a carbon-free grid by 2035 and 50 percent of all new vehicles sold in the United States in 2030 be zero-emission vehicles are met)?
For sure, the grid needs huge amounts of investments, researchers and analysts say.
For example, in a “high electrification” or E+ scenario, with aggressively electrifying buildings and transportation so that 100 percent of cars are electric by 2050, America would need $360 billion invested in transmission through 2030 and $2.4 trillion by 2050, the Princeton University said in a report at the end of 2020.
Yet, it’s not only a matter of money, but many analysts and industry consultants also say. That’s because the U.S. currently lacks a national strategy that clearly defines the roles of policymakers, states, federal agencies, grid operators, and utilities in preparing the transmission system on a national level to handle a surge in renewable power generation, demand from EV charging, and the “electrify everything” drive at home.
“We really don’t have anyone in charge,” Rob Gramlich, president of Washington D.C.-based energy consulting firm, Grid Strategies LLC, told Reuters for a special report on the hurdles the U.S. grid faces.
“The politics are a freakin’ nightmare,” Alison Silverstein, an independent industry consultant and former senior adviser to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), told Reuters’ Tim McLaughlin.
The regulatory ‘nightmare’ makes investments in the grid more complicated, which could delay much-needed transmission infrastructure updates and thus, push further the timeline of the clean energy goals, analysts say.
“The majority of the nation’s grid is aging, with some components over a century old — far past their 50-year life expectancy — and others, including 70% of T&D lines, are well into the second half of their lifespans,” the American Society of Civil Engineers said in a report last year.
Expanding the grid capacity by 2-5 times from current levels and transmission investments totaling up to $2.4 trillion presents “multiple technical, economic, and public policy challenges,” Jonathan M. Moch, Postdoctoral Research Fellow, and Henry Lee, Director, Environment and Natural Resources Program at The Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs of Harvard Kennedy School, wrote in a policy brief in February 2022.
“First, there is a lack of coordination between regional and national transmission planning. The organizations responsible for regional transmission planning are often legally constrained from prioritizing the reduction of carbon emissions. Furthermore, construction of new transmission requires an extensive siting and permitting process that can stretch for over a decade and may put the goal of a carbon-free electric grid by 2035 out of reach,” Moch and Lee wrote.
According to consultants Brattle Group, interregional planning processes are ineffective. In a presentation prepared for the ‘Building a Better Grid Initiative’ of the Department of Energy’s Office of Electricity, Brattle said in March that “essentially no major interregional transmission projects have been planned and built in the last decade.”
U.S. climate envoy John Kerry also admitted as much at the CERAWeek conference in Houston in March:
“We can send a rover to Mars, but we can’t send an electron to California from New York.”

Italy's Salvini Warns Food Shortages Could Cause 20 Million African Migrants To Enter Europe

Italian League party leader Matteo Salvini has warned that if the war in Ukraine does not end soon, chronic food shortages will cause an immigration wave that will lead to 20 million African migrants trying to enter Europe.
If Ukrainian grain supplies continue to be impacted, Salvini cautions, “Significant hunger is expected on the African continent, which will be a humanitarian, then a social, and finally an Italian problem.”
Salvini predicts that a new migrant crisis will unfold if a ceasefire and subsequent peace isn’t achieved by the end of this month, noting that this was “essential for Ukraine, Russia and Italy as well.”
Italy’s former Minister of the Interior is urgently asking for a meeting with Prime Minister Mario Draghi, who recently returned from a meeting with Joe Biden, to push the issue of a ceasefire.
Salvini said that European countries pouring weapons into the region was making peace an increasingly distant possibility.
Ukraine was the world’s 6th largest exporter of wheat before the war began.
Last week, it was revealed that £6.8billion of wheat in Ukraine is being blocked from export due to the war blocking off access to the sea.
The world is currently beset with food price hikes and shortages of key products such as sunflower oil, which are now starting to be rationed.

The recent dramatic increases in food prices together with shortages of baby formula and other foods are already pointing to a looming food crisis, and even the prospect of famine. In certain parts of the world, famine is not merely a prospective future to be feared but a present reality that is being experienced now. In Yemen, Sudan, Ethiopia, Burundi, Eritrea, and other countries, millions of people are already dying of starvation, and tens of millions more face the same fate. This comes on the heels of the Covid-19 pandemic and, in fact, it turns out that much of the food crisis and starvation is the result of government policy responses to the virus. The famine death spiral is being hastened by the Covid lockdowns and mandates that disrupted planting and harvesting cycles, destroyed crops and livestock herds, bankrupted crucial businesses, and crippled supply chains.
The 2020 global outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic profoundly changed human society throughout the world. Political leaders and bureaucrats aided by the media have used — and continue to use — fear of a virus from Communist China to push our entire planet into a regimentation that has set us marching toward a totalitarian future that increasingly resembles the Orwellian horror of that regime. Constitutional and traditional restraints on government powers have been swept aside by government edicts claiming to be based on “public safety and health” imperatives to protect us against an “existential threat” — from a virus that has proven thus far to be no more deadly than the common flu. In fact, as many studies have shown, and as we have reported, many more people have died from the government-prescribed “cures” than have succumbed to the virus itself. And the recent relenting by various governments on their draconian mandates (as welcome as those are) have not returned us to the status quo ante; they have merely given us a breather until the next fear campaign for which they decide to impose a new wave of controls, supposedly to protect us against a dangerous new “variant.”
During the months that followed the initial viral outbreak, more and more people around the globe began to realize that there was something terribly amiss with the official narratives that were driving us toward medical dictatorship. Physicians, virologists, epidemiologists, biologists, and other scientists — many of whom are world-recognized authorities in their fields — were being censored and “canceled” for daring to challenge government policies as unscientific and harmful, for daring to challenge Anthony (“I represent science”) Fauci. But, despite the censorship, the warnings by these courageous experts were leaking out and confirming the dire misgivings that the average thinking, freedom-loving layman already harbored in his soul. It was becoming daily more evident that Fauci “science” was transforming us — politically, socially, and economically — into a frightening replica of the Orwellian Beijing regime ruled by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Apropos of this growing recognition, Covid is increasingly referred to as the “CCP virus,” a term popularized by The Epoch Times.

Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Ray Dalio, BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, Blackstone, Carlyle, Citibank, and other Wall Street behemoths and their corporate clients have happily cheered on the Covid bandwagon. Of course, as “essential” businesses they have prospered mightily during the pandemic while their smaller, less-politically-connected competitors have been crippled or wiped out.
The convergence of the Western corporate elites with the CCP elites was no surprise to readers of The New American, since we have been chronicling this phenomenon in these pages for the past several decades. However, with the onset of the Covid pandemic, the world has witnessed the globalists even more openly embracing the communists and their despotic ways. This was brought to the fore in the summer of 2020 during the June meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF), with the announcement of their plans for “The Great Reset.”
The WEF confabs have been notorious for decades as gatherings of the world’s richest plutocrats and autocrats luxuriating in opulent splendor while feigning concern for the world’s poor and excoriating the world’s middle classes for their alleged overconsumption and pollution. Dictator Xi Jinping and other CCP officials are honored participants at WEF gatherings and even chair WEF programs and author WEF reports. With the Great Reset, the WEF grandees formally presented their CCP-style plan to “reset,” i.e., transform, all humanity — politically, socially, economically, biologically, morally, spiritually — along Marxist-Leninist lines.
Klaus Schwab, WEF founder and frontman for the globalist elites, explained that “the pandemic represents a rare but narrow window of opportunity to reflect, reimagine, and reset our world.”
He insisted that he and his fellow WEF demigods were seeking this unprecedented power to remold the world only “to create a healthier, more equitable, and more prosperous future” for all. Yes, trust us, give us unlimited control of everything and we’ll fix it all; we guarantee it! You’ll be SO happy! In fact, one of the signature promises, as presented in a now-infamous WEF video, states, “By 2030, you’ll own nothing and you’ll be happy.”
The WEF billionaires will still own their private jets, super-yachts, and mega-mansions, and will continue their globe-trotting champagne-and-caviar lifestyles, of course, but you will be “happy” with whatever government-provided necessities may be rationed to you. That’s an order! Moreover, the WEF global overlords insist that your happiness will include going vegan (except for eating bugs — very tasty and nutritious, you know), drinking recycled sewage water (very eco-friendly), giving up your car (mass transit is so much more efficient), and chipping your brain (welcome to the Borg — WEF’s transhumanism will help you). This would read like the ludicrous script for a Grade B movie except that it is being proposed and forcefully pushed by some of the world’s wealthiest and most powerful individuals. Klaus Schwab sounds and looks like a classic James Bond movie villain, but he represents the global titans of Big Business, Big Finance, Big Tech, Big Government, and Big Royalty. Britain’s Prince Charles, one of the most fanatical royals in the enviro-zealot lobby, addressed the WEF gathering to help launch the Great Reset by emphasizing “the interdependence of all living things.” “We have a golden opportunity to seize something good from this crisis. Its unprecedented shockwaves may well make people more receptive to big visions of change,” he added. The super wealthy prince has been making similar pronouncements for decades, advocating more spartan regimens for the common folk, but he has not changed his own lavish lifestyle. Ditto for the rest of the WEF’s Great Resetters. (See video on their breathtakingly blatant hypocrisy.)
Plandemic to Planned Famine
Not long after the Covid pall descended upon us, researchers began noticing a curious thing: Prior to the pandemic many of the key players in the forefront of the pandemic response effort — government officials, intelligence agencies, UN agencies, tax-exempt foundations, medical research institutions — had engaged in pandemic scenarios (“Germ Games”) that were eerily similar to the Covid-19 breakout. Beginning with Operation Dark Winter in 2001, these players have conducted more than a dozen Germ Games bearing names such as Atlantic Storm, Global Mercury, Lockstep, MARS, SPARS, CladeX, Crimson Contagion, and Event 201. While “war games” are a valid and useful tool to simulate and prepare for preventing or responding to potential future crises, a disturbing thread runs through these Germ Game exercises. These training scenarios invariably have focused on indoctrinating public decision-makers to respond to infectious disease outbreaks with inflexible, coercive dictates that concentrate and centralize governmental control over all aspects of life. Rather than truly “following the science,” the Germ Games invoked authoritarianism masquerading as science to justify forcing the global population into “lockstep” conformity with government mandates. Compliance would be accomplished largely through orchestrated germ propaganda that would terrify citizens into surrendering their independence, freedom, and rights. The exercises taught implicitly that the mental coercion of propaganda may not be sufficient and would likely need to be augmented by the brute force of military and police — just as we have witnessed throughout the world during Covid.
A closer look at the Germ Games also revealed a recurring and troubling connection between the government entities ostensibly in control of the exercises (U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Defense, USAID, CIA) and private institutions and individuals that are notorious for promoting coercive population control, such as David Rockefeller (and the Rockefeller family in general), Bill Gates, George Soros, Ted Turner, the Rockefeller Foundation, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Population Council, Planned Parenthood, and others.
Now, in the wake of the Covid plandemic, we find the same individuals and institutions assuming the lead in planning for global “food security.” Under Covid, the denizens of Big Pharma, with their allied investors and bought-and-paid-for politicians, have gained control over much of our medical and health sectors. Now we are seeing a similar concentration of control over our agriculture and food sectors. Bill Gates, one of the four wealthiest men in the world, is the single most influential person on the planet in directing global health and vaccine policies, with fingers in all aspects of private and public activity. In the past few years, the Microsoft billionaire has become the largest individual owner of American farmland, buying up more than 240,000 acres across eighteen states. Fellow overpopulation alarmist Ted Turner has bought up over 2 million acres of ranchland across eight states. Many of the mega-corporations, pension funds, and Wall Street investment firms have likewise been gobbling up land. The Covid lockdowns, which have driven many farmers into financial distress or bankruptcy, are allowing these buyers to pick up prime parcels at bargain rates. Over the past several years, this increasing concentration has been accompanied by a steady drumbeat of reports on food security from the Council on Foreign Relations, the Rockefeller Foundation, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Atlantic Council, and United Nations adjuncts such as the World Health Organization, the Food and Agricultural Organization, the World Food Programme, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Bank.
Rockefeller Foundation: Resetting the Table
One out of many noteworthy examples of the food security propaganda is the Rockefeller Foundation report entitled Reset the Table: Meeting the Moment to Transform the U.S. Food System, issued in July of 2020. First off, it is not a mere coincidence that the Rockefeller report adopted the WEF’s “Reset” in its title. The Rockefeller Foundation has been involved with the Davos group from WEF’s earliest years, and the foundation’s current president, Rajiv Shah, was brought up through the globalist ranks via the WEF Young Global Leaders program. In 2001, Dr. Shah went on to work for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, overseeing the organization’s corrupt International Finance Facility for Immunization (IFFI), before moving on to the Obama administration to head the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). In addition to being a regular of the WEF Davos set, he is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) and the Rockefeller-founded, ultra-elite Trilateral Commission, as well as a board member of the International Rescue Committee, a CIA front that poses as a humanitarian nonprofit. In other words, Rajiv Shah is solidly ensconced in the Deep State, the permanent ruling class that has hijacked our government.
In his foreword to Reset the Table, Shah writes that the report lays out “a framework for change toward an equitable, nourishing, and sustainable U.S. food system.” “The imperative to change the U.S. food system is not new,” he says. “What is new is the urgency and opportunity in this moment to make transformative progress.” The report offers the typical fuzzy buzzwords that underscore this “transformative progress”: sustainability, equity, diversity, resiliency, social justice, racial justice, etc. The report calls for additional “investment” in more health and welfare programs, by which it means, of course, that our indebted and bankrupt government should extract even more from taxpayers to fund government programs that are run by bureaucrats sympathetic to the collectivist notions of the Rockefeller Foundation.
The high-level involvement of the Rockefeller and Gates foundations in the development of food security policies is especially alarming considering the long-standing leadership and massive funding these organizations have provided to the militant advocates of population control.

- In 1904, the Carnegie Institution for Science created the Eugenics Record Office to promote the idea of “race betterment” through “scientific” population control, including forced sterilization and denial of healthcare to those deemed to have undesirable physical and mental traits.
- In the 1920s, feminist-eugenicist-racist Margaret Sanger launched her American Birth Control League (which would later become Planned Parenthood) with generous financial help from John D. Rockefeller, Jr. and other members of the Rockefeller family.
- By the 1960s, the fervor for population control had reached a tipping point. The publication of The Population Bomb by Stanford University’s Professor Paul Ehrlich in 1968 gave the movement a huge media-assisted boost. Deemed required reading in many high school and college classes, it sold tens of millions of copies. Ehrlich predicted that tens of millions of Americans would die of starvation in the 1980s, and by 1999 the U.S. population would be reduced to 22.2 million. England, he said would fare even worse, and would cease to exist by 2000! “Our position requires that we take immediate action at home and promote effective action worldwide,” Ehrlich insisted. “We must have population control at home, hopefully through a system of incentives and penalties, but by compulsion if voluntary methods fail…. We can no longer afford merely to treat the symptoms of the cancer of population growth; the cancer itself must be cut out.” (Emphasis added.) “We might institute a system,” Ehrlich suggested, “whereby a temporary sterilant would be added to a staple food or to the water supply. An antidote would have to be taken to permit reproduction.”
- In 1969, Alan Guttmacher, president of Planned Parenthood, stated: “Each country will have to decide its own form of coercion, determining when and how it should be employed…. The means presently available are compulsory sterilization and compulsory abortion.”
- In 1972, the globalists at the Club of Rome published The Limits to Growth, another influential overpopulation propaganda tract posing as science. Like Ehrlich’s environmental jeremiad, its hyperventilating predictions of eco-doom have proven to be ridiculous. In 1991, the Club published a book entitled The First Global Revolution, which concluded, “The real enemy then is humanity itself.”
- In 1974, the United States National Security Council completed a top-secret document entitled National Security Study Memorandum 200 (NSSM-200). It is also known as The Kissinger Report, since Henry Kissinger was Secretary of State at the time it was written. It is subtitled, “Implications of Worldwide Population Growth for U.S. Security and Overseas Interests.” It was declassified and made public in 1990. Claiming a national security interest in protecting the “political, economic, and social stability” of countries supplying the United States with strategic minerals, the Kissinger memo proposed using U.S. foreign aid to promote the legalization of abortion, increased sterilization and contraception-use rates, and withholding disaster and food aid unless population-control programs are implemented. Although The Kissinger Report is nearly half a century old, Dr. Brian Clowes of Human Life International notes, “it continues to be the foundational document on U.S. government population control. It therefore continues to represent official United States policy on government population control and, in fact, is still posted on the USAID website.”
- In 1977, John Holdren authored Ecoscience, in which he announced: “Indeed, it has been concluded that compulsory population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing Constitution if the population crisis became sufficiently severe to endanger the society.” President Barack Obama made Holdren his “science czar.”
- In 1990, CNN founder Ted Turner established the Turner Foundation, which continues to list as a goal “developing practices and policies to curb population growth rates.” In the mid-1990s he stated: “A total world population of 250-300 million people, a 95% decline from present levels, would be ideal.”
- In November 1991, famed underwater explorer and television star Jacques Cousteau told The UNESCO Courier that “Overpopulation is our planet’s number one problem.” He continued: “It’s terrible to have to say this. World population must be stabilized and to do that we must eliminate 350,000 people per day. This is so horrible to contemplate that we shouldn’t even say it. But the general situation in which we are involved is lamentable.”
- On January 1, 1995, the launch of the World Trade Organization (WTO) initiated a new regime of global food control by empowering the WTO to use the United Nations’ Codex Alimentarius in adjudicating international trade disputes involving foods. The Codex Alimentarius, created in 1961 and administered jointly by the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and World Health Organization, is a mammoth collection of 362 standards, guidelines, and codes of practice regarding essentially every category of food. WTO trade rulings are providing incentive for national legislators to adopt the Codex into their national laws, while FAO/WHO bureaucrats and their Big Pharma funders/advisors are constantly revising the Codex. Bill Gates is the second largest funder of WHO after the United States government, and is also a major funder of the FAO. A February 22, 2012 FAO press release featured a photo of then-FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva shaking hands with Gates at the FAO headquarters in Rome. According to the press release, “Graziano da Silva presented Gates with a permanent building pass to FAO, in a symbolic gesture of FAO’s commitment to working closer with the private sector and civil society.”
- In a 2003 PBS television interview with Bill Moyers, Gates said that when he was growing up, “my dad was head of Planned Parenthood” and the issue of population was “the one issue that really grabbed me as urgent.” (Emphasis added). Gates, apparently, misspoke during the interview; his father, William H. Gates, was not the head of Planned Parenthood (PP) nationally, but was a trustee, director, and significant funder of the organization in the Pacific Northwest. Media “fact-checkers” immediately attacked reports by pro-life critics that cited the Gates-PP connection (which was very real but contained the error promulgated by Bill Gates, Jr.) in an obvious attempt to discredit the reports as “baseless” and “conspiracy theories.”
- In 2012 the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) hailed Gates’ gift of $2.2 billion to a foundation named after his father which directs its funds toward global “reproductive health.” Gates’ foundation proudly displays the UNFPA praise on its website. Gates has given many multimillion-dollar grants directly to UNFPA, which supports coercive abortion in China and throughout the world.
- In October 1995, author/philosopher Sam Keen told the assembled prime ministers, presidents, legislators, celebrities, and scientists at the concluding plenary of the Gorbachev Foundation’s State of the World Forum in San Francisco of the consensus the forum had reached: “We must speak far more clearly about sexuality, about contraception, about abortion, about the values that control the population, because the ecological crisis, in short, is the population crisis. Cut the [world’s] population by 90 percent and there aren’t enough people left to do a great deal of ecological damage.”
- On May 24, 2009, The Times of London reported that a secret meeting of the world’s leading billionaires had struck on a plan for curtailing world population. Entitled “Billionaire club in bid to curb overpopulation,” it told of a gathering in Manhattan that included some of the planet’s richest titans: Bill Gates, George Soros, Ted Turner, Oprah Winfrey, David Rockefeller, Warren Buffett, and Michael Bloomberg. The Times reported that, according to an attendee, “a consensus emerged that they would back a strategy in which population growth would be tackled as a potentially disastrous environmental, social and industrial threat.” “This is something so nightmarish that everyone in this group agreed it needs big-brain answers,” said the guest. “They need to be independent of government agencies, which are unable to head off the disaster we all see looming.”

Gas stations across the US are running out of fuel and in anticipation of an increase in gas prices, gas stations in the state of Washington are reportedly reprogramming pumps to include double-digit numbers in "price per gallon" as the current trend could put prices over $10.00.
At the 76 Gas Station in Auburn, Washington located at 1725 Auburn Way North, gas pumps have been reprogrammed to make room for double-digit pricing. In March, they still had single-digit programming.
A spokesperson at 76 confirmed to The Post Millennial that the gas pumps were reprogrammed to allocate for double-digit pricing. Although not confirming that they are expecting prices to increase up to $10.00 or more, the current trend suggests the possibility.
This specific gas station also sells race fuel which may have forced the reprogramming since it has also increased in pricing, the spokesperson told The Post Millennial. However, the race fuel is sold on separate pumps from the those with the standard regular, plus, premium, and diesel fuel options.
Throughout eastern Washington, gas stations are running out of fuel. In the Tri-Cities (Kennewick, Pasco, and West Richland), customers are pulling up to pumps only to find notes that state the station is out of fuel, which wasn't an issue in the past. Some stations only have diesel available.
Residents of the Tri-Cities are scrambling to find fuel. In a local Facebook group, members reported more than ten stations that are currently out of fuel, which include multiple Circle K's and Exxon's.
Gas prices have skyrocketed since President Biden took office in January 2021. The Biden administration shutdown the Keystone XL and Enbridge Line 5 pipelines which resulted in the United States becoming more reliant on other countries for oil and gas. Last year, the Colonial Pipeline was attacked by Russian hackers which caused multiple states in the South and along the East Coast to run out of gas.
Just last week, President Biden canceled a one-million-plus acre oil lease in Alaska, which could have led to greater energy independence.
The United States set a new record in gas prices over the weekend, which surged to a new high of $4.43, according to AAA. This is up from $4.08 in April and $3.00 in May of last year. The spiking energy costs are contributing to the highest inflation rates the country has seen in 40 years.
Premium gas now averages $5.07, up from $3.62 a year ago, while diesel over that period has jumped from $3.15 to $5.56 a gallon, CBS News reports.
