I did not vote for him...but now all is said and done...I am glad it is Obama rather than the other guy. Many reasons for thinking the Obama victory will be a good thing...
For the first is the immediate upgrade of the Negro community which, God only knows, needs a hand up and this gives it to them...and they are Americans that live and die in our wars and work in our construction and destruction.
2ndly...maybe he can really think outside of the box! Haven't seen that results yet, but its a little early.
3rdly...he is what we got...so better to run with it and make the best of it than moan and groan about what might have been. And truthfully had McCain won...we might have been in for 4 more years of GWB...and most everyone feels, 8 years is enough of that.
I am willing to change and make the changes needed to survive...the past is gone and it is "pasty faced white guys that sold us down the river." Maybe Obama is just a puppet, of the same PFWG (pasty faced white guys) that got us into great depression II...but maybe not...at least we got hope at this point.

Your only terms are that we all accept socialism and that is too high a price to pay for 'coming togehter.' Standing on principle, standing up for what is right, is the highest ideal to stive for. And, if that means that we don't 'get along,' so be it! the benighted among us will simply have to deal with it...or not.
