Let No House Divide

I hope that we here at TB2K can all remember that we are neighbors and friends. This is a community.

Americans in 1861 got so upset over political and regional differences that they began shooting their family members, neighbors, and friends. Six hundred thousand people died. Let us say, "Never Again."

I hope that we can all overcome our various differences, come to the table together, and heal the wounds of war and economic devastation in the next four years. There are few issues that can't be resolved with diplomacy and willing hearts.

I can overcome your oppressive taxation without war. How about all productive people in this country just stop working, or take jobs that pay much, much less. No reason for us to bust our ass to bailout layabouts and bums. Let ghetto mama in the ghetto be a nurse, do crawl space repair work, put on your new roof. I am sure she will do a great job and be more than happy to pay half her small business income to Obama. All I know is that my charity donating is done. My recycling of four full trash bags of various plastics is done. Unless I get _my_ cut of the wealth, no way am I wasting my money on things that over half the people in this country think is the function of government.

Precisely.

Blue America elected a candidate that openly espouses doctrine antithetical to the very foundations of this country. Screw him. I did not go to war for him or anyone who voted for him, and I HATE the fact that he will be my new Commander in Chief.

How many military folks will bail with this guy at the helm? Maybe Fruit Loop and others will step up to the plate?

A blast from the past..... Posts from 2004 made by you.... You did not want to sing "Lets get together-Yah-Yah -Yah" then:lkick:

I have nothing in common with the Bush folks either.

His generation was raised on the strong pro-American propaganda machine of the 1940s and 1950s. Be a good citizen, say the Pledge of Allegiance, fight the Reds.

My generation was tired of doing things because that's the way they were always done. We saw Social Security going down the drain and realize it won't be there for us, and we're pissed off when we see what's being stolen out of our paychecks.

We see past the smoke of "patriotism" and "the greatest country in the world with a responsibility to make the rest of the world as free as we are" for what it is - a trap to force us into a war in some foreign country nobody's ever heard of so that the fat cats in Washington can keep making money.

As for Toby Keith - I liked his music when it WAS country music, and not the jingoistic pablum written specifically to cash in on 9-11. When that happened I wondered how long it would be before some overpaid entertainer wrote a smarmy piece of crap like "Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning" or testosterone-driven cave-man mentality "Let's go whack something" idiocy to "commemorate" the tragedy.

Patriotism......don't make me gag.

I'm proud of today's generation. They're smart enough to think for themselves like we did in the sixties, rather than buying into that pile of sheep droppings about "let's put our personal feelings aside and get behind 'our' president because it's the right thing to do."

This reminds me of the election when the Baby Boomers cheered Bush Sr because he said he wanted to make America look more like Leave It To Beaver than the Simpsons, and the kids laughed. Maybe your generation vacuumed the carpet wearing high heels and pearls in the 1950s, but our generation is lucky if we can even afford them.

Save your suggestion that if I don't like it, quit flying. I ALREADY HAVE. But I will continue to voice displeasure since I think your "Put up or shut up" and "this is just how it has to be" is wrong. I have a right to do this (for now, anyway, till somebody destroys what's left of free speech.) If you find it offensive, I suggest that you put me on ignore. That's what it's for.

Something else FL can plan on apologizing for is the day, soon to come, when Obama-boy signs up for the first Dem gun-grab legislation.

I plan on being every bit as "tolerant" and "loving" as the Bush-haters have been these last 8 years.

Rather than the endless "monkey-boy" and "shrub" type comments, be prepared for YEARS of the obamanation and whatever else we feel is appropriate.
Lets see how well you Bush-haters can take your own tactics. Wonder how long it will be before you start proclaiming "racism" etc.
Ah, wait, you've ALREADY started that with every negative comment about the obamanation...

It won't take long...they're already doing it.

As for me, I will continually refer to president obama as "the Kenyanesian", "Chimpy Obongo" , "Curious George", "Boy" , "Barry Hussein", etc.

I am sure you would be happy if we built that bridge all the way back to bloody England... However unlike you I do not want to be taxed to death... Unlike you I do not want to give up my guns... Unlike you I do not want the gas prices you have there.. Unlike you I do not want to go to a council so I can have a garden plot for veggies... Unlike you I not want Sharia law..We left that tyranny many, many years ago as a country...

Amazing how the Europeans seem to think they have the right to decide how we should live and think here. But then again, with 0bama, their opinion matters. As for me, we dumped their stinking tea in Boston Harbor a long time ago, and it's the same place I'll dump their opinions of a country they never had the chance to know before it was destroyed.

And, what Southern Gal said. NO.

The day is getting closer and closer. There's more tyrants and want-to-be tyrants that need to be strung up from the lamp post than we have lamp posts - going to have to double and triple up.

And your point is, Diamonds..............?? How about you go and look at some of the hate that brought those words from me?

I do love this country, and that's why I didn't support Bush. I most certainly DID support my country and fellow citizens. Read those words I wrote again, and you will see love for this country, and rage for what it was becoming thanks to greed.

BUSH was not willing to work with anyone who disagreed with him. If you didn't support the war, you supported terrorism. He never wanted anyone to work with him; it was toe his line, or you aren't an American. That flies in the face of all America has ever stood for.

Kindly remember that although I did not support the war, I DID support the troops. I've stood in a circle of human shields around caskets so that grieving families could bury their soldiers who fell in battle.

I supported free speech. Go back and re-read one sentence in particular:

But I will continue to voice displeasure since I think your "Put up or shut up" and "this is just how it has to be" is wrong. I have a right to do this (for now, anyway, till somebody destroys what's left of free speech.) If you find it offensive, I suggest that you put me on ignore. That's what it's for

Why did I say that? Because I was willing to let others voice whatever they thought. You, on the other hand, thought I shouldn't have the same privilege.

So go read those posts again. You'll see that I was willing then, as now, to work with my fellow citizens.....but was not being given the same courtesy. Note that in my original post that I did not say everyone had to get behind Obama. What I hope is that citizens can forget this hatred and work together.

We can all think what we want to. But we don't have to show contempt for others. Our country is wounded now, as it was four years ago - in fact, things are worse.

Are we all going to find a way to work together now? Or hold to divisions that are worse today than they were four years ago?

Your choice.

Wouldn't want to have a "monopoly on opinion" because that is extremely un-American.

People are of course free - and should be - to hold to any opinions they wish. Hating someone else for theirs is just wrong, though. We've had 8 years of "I'm right, you're wrong because I say so" stuff. That's exactly the kind of division that rips the heart from America, and it's gotten worse, not better.

One thing I hope to see from this election is a president who WILL respect everyone's right to disagree without calling them traitorous for it. I hope to see citizens who will work together to heal the bleeding heart of this country regardless of their political differences.

As long as it's on YOUR terms, right?

My only terms are that we all (hopefully) remember that we are all Americans and that we can still work and live together as a community despite our philosophical differences. There is room for all of us, and the country needs all of us to survive the hurt that we're in, and endure the devastation until the damage is rectified. We're all needed to repair that damage.

Work together??? They only work the socialists plan on doing is reaching into my pocket and STEALING the rewards of my work. The only thing I'm willing to redistribute is my ammo - one round at a time.

Live together??? No problem, I fully recognize you right to live in peace on your property enjoying the fruits of YOUR labor. You intrude on my property to STEAL the fruits of my labor and we are back to redistrbuting ammo.

The hurt that we are in??? It's nothing compared to the hurt that is coming.

FL,

I think we (as in members) are disconnecting because you believe the elections results are a difference of opinion.

America, home of the brave and land of the free, over half of us voted a marxist for President, we are embracing socialism as The One promised, that is HUGELY different than a mere difference of opinion or agreeing to disagree.

As a side note, I am weary truly of the Brits on this board gloating with glee that we have now become like them :kk2:

To all the liberals..

I would say paid posters but most of those are out of work or back at Acorn headquarters.

I have one question. Should we treat "your President" like you treated ours?

Nothing made me more plain mad than to watch the Congressional leadership from the Demo party Lie and distort the events leading to the credit market collapse and use those same lies to score political points.

From what I've you seen you can tell a liberal cause if you put your hand out in friendship they shove a knife in your back.

Now we are supposed to be all towing the extremist party line.
That will never happen!!!

I never really considered Presidents yours or mines until I heard SO OFTEN from our fellow Americans from the left how George Bush wasn't "our President."

Now after you ask yourself how you, your media, and your party treated The President of the United States of America, you can help me to answer the question how we should treat incoming administration and socialists leading the Democratic party.

I honestly haven't decided if it is not time for the left to live in the same Bed, but the house and society they have built for conservatives.

When you think life is a one way street, then you are missing the truck coming the other way!

Just as an aside, several years ago, my business had a crazy woman that kept coming in to different departments. It took a little while before we connected the dots and all the managers realized that there was not an epidimic of "nuts" just one very crazy woman annoying everyone.

The manager of the maintenance department said something to me about that woman that I'll never forget and of which I'm reminded again tonight.

1. Well, please tell the "community" to keep their hands out of my pockets.

2. So? Where do you think all that blood for the "tree of liberty" comes from?

3. Reagan, GI , GII and McCain all attempted to deal with the dims, they all got stabbed in the back by both the dims and their news media propaganda wing. "Overcoming various differences" is lib speak for do it our way or else will attack you with the press.

4. It's hard to come to the table with a philosophy that has allowed the murder of 45 million babies.

5. Wounds? Baby, those ain't wounds, they're scratches. Real blood has yet to be shed, either here or overseas. But with Iran and Israel coming toward a boiling point, things will change.

6. What economic devastation? The only economic devastation I see is that the dims broke America and the press blamed the republicans!

7. The hell there ain't! Otherwise, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

8. Haven't we already covered this?

Throughout this election, you have not seen me call any of the Republicans dirty, commie, traitor, things like DemocRAT or demoCRAP, or support some of the vile insinuations against your candidate, such as the assaults on young Bristol Palin or the disgusting "jokes" about Trig Palin. Please note that there hasn't been any "bwahaha" or ha ha ha you lost" meanness from any of us, either.

My conscience is clean.
