The police were responding to "shots fired" 911 calls when they focused on the RV.
The RV was parked in front of the AT&T building according to reports.
yes, but i am wondering about other situations

My question, regarding the countdown, was how would the police know when the device would detonate?
Officials now believe this morning's explosion in downtown Nashville, Tennessee, was an intentional act. At least three people have been taken to the hospital.

Most reports are saying the RV was parked in front of the AT&T building, but based on where the explosion footage is coming from, that building is a block away to the west. Am I getting my geography wrong?
i am curious yours and others thinking on that.
who are you saying?
maybe they detonated it out of worry it appeared too unstable a setup to frig with?My question, regarding the countdown, was how would the police know when the device would detonate?

This is huge. Cops are stupid about explosives, very few of us got any real training on them. If they saw something it was obvious. This is bad. I have seen street cops call the bomb squad on obvious dummy grenades and such, only to show up and see there was no hammer and a hole in the bottom.Offices had reason to call the bomb squad before the explosion.
Did you hear the robo message?that was ......creepy
Did you hear the robo message?
I don't think that was a police message I think that was the RV telling people to evacuate Police Never cause panic... and always want to avoid lawsuits ...Did you hear the robo message?

On the scanner....MAN DOWN!
Basic standard response as soon as either a Civil Support Team gets there or a larger city HAZMAT team gets there.have we heard anything about any radiation at all? i know the SOP was stated to be hazmat and radiation detectors, but did anything come of it?

If that WAS a hot detonation, we would know by now.
With this report We can assume that the bombers did not want to kill people they didn't want to kill first responders and they were targeting something specific I'm wondering I'm going to start looking to see if it was a shaped charge to go into the ground and disrupt some sort of cables fiber optics or data center....
that person screaming for help.....
i hope they are ok
Very possible that the cops received a braggart phone call hoping to lure in LEO - and/or that there was an inside man who got a warning out. We will probably never know any details now that the Feds have taken over.Basic standard response as soon as either a Civil Support Team gets there or a larger city HAZMAT team gets there.
