My daughter just called to say she tested positive... has been vaxxed (probably 8 months ago). Her main symptoms are a splitting headache and minor fatigue. Her 10 year old is complaining about nausea and a scratchy throat, so I'm betting he has it too...

Lately, everyone I know who gets it, it goes through the whole house. Keeping the first sick person in a separate room doesnt seem to help much. It took about 7 or 8 days, but all 8 of us in the house ended up positive

Yeah, I don't think you can possibly prevent an airborne virus from spreading through the average family home. I've written about the Christmas I caught Norwalk virus on Christmas eve, with over 20 people visiting. I stayed in our master bedroom suite, and managed to not infect anyone else (including hubby, who was helping take care of me), but Norwalk is more of a surface vector.

Then again, I've nursed hubby through 2 bouts of COVID, and I've never gotten sick. :shr:

Yeah -- we're not even trying. It's just us two anyway. BTW, I added myself to the poll.

Well Glory be to God !!
I was texting my sons wife who was at his hospital beside this afternoon. She was giving me a breakdown of the goings on. Then another text breaks in. What a surprise, it was my son!
I was actually able to text with my son this afternoon in his hospital room.
He is recovering from the Covid-19 and is still pretty weak, but he managed to send me a selfie to show me the mountain man beard he has grown in the last month while on the vent.
He has vocal cord damage due to the ventilator but might recover his speech.
all is good as he is a stubborn man and will make good progress now.
On the other end of the family in Oklahoma.
my Cousin and her whole family and grandchildren are sick with the Covid.
ahhh,,,covid19,,,the gift that keeps on giving!

Two to report in my family. My Mom (inactive TB2K member Dirtdigger), who has late stage Alzheimer's and my 85 year old Step Dad who is her main caregiver and keeps her at home (he is a SAINT) both came down with Covid this week after one of my Mom's caregivers came down with it and passed it on to them unwittingly. I am an only child and everyone has agreed that I cannot help care for them during this crisis (I am on immunosuppressants and my husband has advanced Parkinson's disease with dysphagia (throat muscles not working very well), but I spoke to our local EMS guy today and they have agreed to go check on them twice a day, helping my step Dad change her and keep her clean and also check them both for pneumonia. Our local hospital is totally full and they are sending people away to other hospitals now. I am praying that somehow they both make it through. They are vaxxed, but did not get boosted yet. I am so very thankful that our EMS is going above and beyond to help when they are already stressed to the max, but he recognized our unique situation and said they could help.

My younger brother says he is not feeling well and the symptoms might be covid. His wife got the jab so am wondering if she is shedding virus?

Until I am certain what's going on will not add to the list.

Had it this week. Symptoms (fever) on Monday while visiting family in California. Tested Thursday, positive by PCR. Last fever was Thursday night. No breathing issues at all. Very occasional cough, runny nose, and body aches. Expected it to be flu... must have been omicron.

Of course had been on Vit D and zinc. Added ivermecton when I got home. Pretty mild presentation in my case.

abby normal

insert appropriate adjective here
Hubby and I are 11 days in and still symptomatic . No taste or smell , very low energy , congested. I am still dealing with some GI issues . It's been a very slow road.

I have tried everything to get rid of it and nothing seems to work. This is our second bout of covid , the first being in January 2020. We are late 40s and unvaccinated .

close cousin is now down with it. She reports a mild fever and body aches.
This is her second bout with it and she has had the shot and one booster.
Her comment today. What's the damn use of the boosters if you still get the crap
She has no underlying morbidities other than her age 67.

probably got it from her daughter who does work in nursing homes and has had ALL the shots and boosters.
But who knows. She is not exactly careful when she goes out. No mask No hand sanitizers. so she could have jsut as easily got it from the local dollar general.

I updated my number. Everyone in the family is back to normal except me. I still have a cough, exhaustion and messed up taste. The taste of Pennies is starting to fade but everything still tastes “wrong”. Hoping the exhaustion let’s up, I can’t to anything for longer than an hour or two without needing to lay down

Hope you get back to normal soon, closet squirrel. Hopefully the family which has recovered can be of some help to you.

I started feeling feverish/stuffy on New Year's day. And very fatigued. After being utterly unable to schedule a CVS drive-through test for 3 days, got tested at some fly-by-night place on 1/5, rapid test, positive. (I think CVS is just out of tests but won't admit it.) Threw a crap ton of HCQ, IVM at it and boosted already high vitamin D3, Magnesium, Zinc etc. to no apparent effect. Woke up today with a normal temperature for the first time since this started, so hoping this is over. except for the fever, it feels like a mild cold. This is the first time I've had *anything* in 6 or 7 years.

P.S. Un-jabbed. 66 yo, obese, well-controlled type 2 diabetes. Due to these, I bought into the fear porn for a while, but I've been living normally since October 2021. It'll be a cold day in hell before I take one of those damned jabs, especially now.

When DD needed a test just before New Year's - first place we went was CVS. She'd gotten several tests their before (for purposes of attending school). It was nice - drive thru window, they pass out the swabs, you pass them back. Nope - they stopped being a testing site in October. Walgreens & Meijer were the same way. We found an urgent care center close by that was able to do a rapid test the morning of NYE. Hope you feel better soon!
