38 days from contact to death, for those who are are keeping track of these things.

Time from contact to first symptoms is hazy as he could have had a sore throat, joint/muscle aches, and general malaise days prior to present to the hospital the first time with fever and abdominal discomfort.

What happened to 21 days?

:(

Yep... with the "best medical care in the world" (presumably)

I'm betting on a major lawsuit by the survivors, claiming that if the hospital hadn't goofed, and sent him home three days before he got REALLY sick, he could have survived. Of course, that is likely to be refuted with "well, if he had TOLD us he had been exposed to/had Ebola, it wouldn't have happened"!

I'm still stunned that they have "cleared" the stepdaughter after only 7 days... I'm glad she apparently has the common sense to not go back to work for at least awhile yet! I wouldn't feel remotely comfortable about having dodged the bullet until the full three weeks had passed.

I wonder if we will find out how much his care cost, and who is going to get stuck with the bill. I am sure it will again be the American taxpayer.

Thomas Duncan - Dead

Ebola patient dies at Dallas hospital

DALLAS — A patient diagnosed with Ebola in Dallas on September 30 has died, according to officials from Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas.

Thomas Eric Duncan, who was admitted to the hospital on September 28, was pronounced dead at 7:51 a.m. Wednesday, read a statement released "He fought courageously in this battle," said Wendell Watson, a spokesman with Texas Health Presbyterian. "Our professionals, the doctors and nurses in the unit, as well as the entire Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas community, are also grieving his passing."

Family members of Duncan remain under quarantine. The family hasn't showed symptoms of the virus and will remain under monitoring and isolation until October 19.

"My thoughts are with the family and friends of Thomas Eric Duncan at this time, especially his fiancée Louise, their son Karsiah and all those who loved him," said Dallas Count Judge Clay Jenkins in a written statement. "We are also thinking of the dedicated hospital staff who assisted Mr. Duncan daily while he fought this terrible disease. We offer prayers of comfort and peace to everyone impacted by his passing."

Duncan boarded a plane in Liberia on September 19 and arrived in Dallas the following day. He reported feeling ill on September 24 and sought care at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital the next day. Doctors released Duncan with a prescription for antibiotics on September 26.

He was readmitted to the hospital two days later.

2-21 days is widely held to be the timeframe within which a person exposed to the disease would exhibit the first symptoms. The problem is, in at least 1 well documented case, the first symptoms precede fever by as much as 3 days. The presentation of fever is being held by the CDC as the gold standard for infectivity when it has been proven that other symptoms appear well before that.

I think that Israel reported correctly that he died on Sunday. They did not want the news out because they needed to figure out the next steps which of course means how to handle the body and keep the stock market afloat. They have also harvested many post mortem samples for future use. The last thing on their minds was having the family view him. When demand to view was made and probably a verbal threat of using an attorney made by the family their hand was forced. Now comes the really hard part of concealment. How to dispose of his wasted carcass. Maybe that judge will take it in an act of mercy like he took the other hot victims of Duncan's arrival.

I suspect they had to finally unhook the machines (he probably did "die" on Sunday) because the family (and/or their Church etc) realized they needed a lawyer and either had one or were in the process of obtaining one. At which time the hospital would either need a court order or perhaps an intervention from the CDC; to keep the family from getting any news and hiding his clinical death (even on life support) would be very difficult to continue keeping quiet about.

Even if the CDC or even Homeland Security declared it a "matter of National Security" and ordered a news blackout etc; it would pretty much answer the question "yep he's dead," is what the public will think and it would leave them open to legal challenges they probably don't want right now.

So, now they can have him be dead - as for transport their are supposed to be special bio-hazard body bags etc; kept around for things like accidents at nuclear power plants etc; that's probably how this will be handled with perhaps using a local morgue that has a contract or even military facilities for the cremation. Since, for the moment, it is just once person it should be doable; it gets more complicated if there are multiple deaths to deal with.

Stepdaughter maybe having first stage symptoms and knows she is infected. She has the decency to try to not spread it and is demonstrating more common sense then the entire CDC. Girl friend and others still missing in action. Not even a Skype shot on we are great and doing fine. Like our new digs.

How are you coming up with 38 days?

I get 24 at most...from September 15th to October 8th.

On the plus side...if there is one...this will send a message to other west Africans that its not an automatic lifesaver to escape to america. And plus two...the CDC, gov, health establishment etc.. Just cannot keep shrugging this off as "hey guys, this is USA we got this Ebola thing". Now maybe they will TAKE THIS MORE SERIOUSLY!!

My sympathies to the mans family but not so much to him, after he knowingly came to this country while likely infected for his own selfish purposes. Yes I know anyone in the same situation in including myself, fearing death, would be tempted to do the same. But that does not change the facts.

How long before his family sues for malpractice? I give it a week. Knowing our legal system they will be handsomely rewarded. I just hope the hospital has the common sense to then sue his estate for the cost of his care. Hope the residents of the apartment complex get in on that action too.

I dunno what happened, honestly. I counted wrong, obviously. Will edit my post above.

ETA: Son reminded me we were conversing while I was typing and HE said "38" in regards to something he was talking about, so I typed it. *Note to self: don't type while your kid is talking to you ESPECIALLY with regards to numbers

So, thinking it might take 2 days do deal with the highly infections body, we have to wait until Oct 31 (23 days from now) to see if any others are infected from him (HCW, crematory workers, hospital clean up crew, etc)

I'm still trying to figure out why one man that had ebola before even coming into this country, is such a big deal because he died.

Israeli News Reports Ebola Patient Zero Thomas Duncan Is Dead

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcD-omMspFQ

Published on Oct 5, 2014

Israeli media outfit Arutz Sheva is reporting that Thomas Duncan has succumbed to Ebola today, citing Reuters. The only problem with that is, Reuters still lists him as critical and fighting for his life, and no other outlets are reporting that Duncan has died.

So what's going on here? Is he dead and the government and establishment media are just keeping the facts under wraps for as long as possible? Did Arutz just utterly fail at fact checking? What exactly is going on here?

Because, as I wrote about in my latest article on Truthstream (http://truthstreammedia.com/the-handl...), watching the government handle this Ebola crisis is like watching a bad horror movie turned Looney Tunes cartoon.

Our government health officials have already admitted so much fail on record here, it's hard to imagine how much more fail is going on behind the scenes that we haven't even been told about. If Duncan has already died, it's not like they're going to be in any hurry to report that to the American public...

I saw this on Sunday after I had just completed reading the news on this website and the Israel Times. I went back and looked and it was not there. I googled it and it showed up on Youtube and Beforeitsnews.com. You be the judge. You can go today, select news, and just back up to October 5, and it is still not there.

A death won't stop them. They never said we wouldn't have deaths. They just said that they would "stop this thing"...meaning the spread. That one still remains to be seen but from outward appearances at this point, so far so good.

I give up.
Tic Toc, Tic Toc...ugh

We have the best hospital system in the world. We can handle Ebola.
Umm. Sir. Thomas Eric Duncan died today.
I am sorry, you misunderstood me. I said
We have the best hospitality system in the world. Don't worry your pretty head about Ebola.

Was just told the girlfriend was in critical condition. Failed to ask the citation (she was in a hurry to make last minute runs). If true-we need to blast that publicly via social media to show how complicit these folks are...
