Right now there are about 2,500 to 5,000 Snowflakes in Pioneer Square. They are not currently rioting, but that can change soon enough. It has stopped raining. The sun, such as it is in January, is shining. The police are on the other side of Broadway watching. It is the usual protest crowd of aging hippies, young wantabe anarchists, street people looking for excitement and, of course, the local media.
The helicopter is flying overhead. One sign said, "Dump Trump the Chump." Another said, "Mr. President: YOUR'E FIRED." Speakers ranting and raving, people cheering and clapping. So far, so good. The mood is tense, angry, and potentially explosive. They are in this for the long haul. We can expect this for the next four years. They are already calling for Trump's impeachment, on what grounds is beyond me.

Ok--now the protesters are heckling a group of well-dressed people walking along the sidewalk---I'm not sure where they are going to or coming from--but it's some black-tie affair, to judge by how they're dressed. (Comments said its the Inaugural Gala)
BUT WHAT ARE THE POLICE THINKING, letting these people (the nicely-dressed ones) just walk along the street with NO PROTECTION from these ASSHOLES?
They are heckling, pushing, chanting "Shame on you!" "F you!" "Deplorables!" and worse epithets--some among the protesters are trying to stop them, saying "Don't touch her--leave her alone!"--others are becoming more aggressive towards the well-dressed folks---
I'd be scared to death....

The protesters had formed a corridor and those going to the ball had to walk by them. They were called names and shamed.
Now we have a middle-aged man and woman sitting in the middle of the street with a line of cops in front of them.

It looks like the DC police are getting to finally clear the street in front of the ball building. this should get very interesting once they do that. First the flashbangs, smoke and tear gas, followed by the quick march with batons and pepper spray deployed. They only need to make the clear the street announcement and then they will go. Right now they are doing the tactical, how many people are in front of them, what kind of forces they have.

As far as I'm concerned arrest them all. Fill up a stadium with them. Ship them out of the state (far far away from their cars, hotel rooms etc.) When the violence starts they are all accessories.
I protested with the Tea Party and we didn't break anything, the police didn't have to come, we didn't interfere with anyone and we didn't throw a single rock at anybody or anything.
These people in DC are Thugs. Arrest them make it a part of their permanent record. Will look real good on a job application.

The DC Police have apparently decided to only keep a path open for the people attending the ball to transit to the actual building entrance. This means they are subject to verbal abuse, screaming, but no actual physical attack. The police just physically push the Snowflakes back when they start to crowd in. I would clear the street with flashbangs, tear gas and arrest every single one of them and ship them off to RFK Stadium for starters.
