BUSH ANGER: OBAMA AIDES LEAK CHAT DETAILS

The president is a public servant and, with a few exceptions, shouldn't be saying anything that the American people don't have a right to hear.

They give up job-related privacy when they're elected.

Bush has gotten to used to secret memos, secret conversations, and no accountability.

This is probably the silliest, most ignorant post I have ever read here.

Ring up the White House, ask to speak to the POTUS and tell the switchboard this when they ask the nature of your call. See how far you get, and it matters not who is in office or their political affiliation, the answer will most likely be maniacal laughter right before you hear a click.

My point is, did they agree on confidentiality beforehand? Or did Bush just assume?

I don't expect my conversations with others to remain private unless I have specifically requested the friend's confidence. Otherwise they have every right to repeat anything I say, and I'm a fool to say it out loud if I don't want it known.

Your not THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. They were talking in a room with NO OTHER PEOPLE.

How can that be mistaken for not private?????????????

Come on, this time I'm calling bullsh*t. Some things are just common sense.

Doooooooooom !
And Mr. Bush should remember, if he can, the old saw of 'Fool me once, shame on you, Fool me twice, shame on me.'

LOL made me think of this...

"There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again." —President George W. Bush, Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 17, 2002

OK, I'm about to melt down

As a sidenote, before I flip out, I was sooooo mad to read that Obama "took the liberty of putting his hand on the president's back" and basically steered him like a child into the meeting. Like he was the host.

How dare he?

OK, now...

WHY ARE WE HAVING TO ARGUE ABOUT THIS Of all the obvious, stupid, ridiculous, examples of poor judgement in the world -- my good grief, why would ANYBODY try to pretend this wasn't entirely ridiculous, entirely PLANNED and entirely out of line?

Why are there people DEFENDING this? It is so simple and basic and STUPID -- and OBVIOUSLY inappropriate.

But we're having to explain that?

SERIOUSLY?

*Hyperventilating* This is how the world is going to see this, too, isn't it? Sour Bush grapes. Obama can talk to whomever he wants about whatever he wants. HE'S Obama. He works in the super-duper "Office of the President Elect". Blah blah blah.

It's over. We can't fight willfull and blind indulgence in ignorance.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :sht::sht::sht::sht::sht:

Someone, please, help me...

Fruit Loop, bless your heart.......I respectfully disagree with you here. If there is no reasonable expectation of privacy in that setting, there where is there any privacy at all? AND....if your perspective is really what you feel, then please share your thoughts on why O-Boy wont share:

His Birth Certificate
College Transcripts
College Papers (thesis?)
Medical Records

If he is truly a public servant, then as a taxpayer, he now works for me. I dont hire ANYONE who is not thoroughly background checked...so he needs to start being transparent on himself and not on everyone else!

JMHO, and I really am not trying to flame you. I think you are a sweet person, maybe just a little misunderstood sometimes! ;)

Yep. That '52' crowd sure picked a winner!

Okay, so far we have the "PRESIDENT ELECT" smearing a former First Lady in his first press conference. Now, he's leaking confidential info after his first private meeting with a sitting POTUS. Oh! And how could I forget - he's had to cleanse his change website because once the people got a look at it, they HATED what they saw! Wow - "The One We Have Been Waiting For" is off to a rollicking start!

Oh yes. The next four years are going to be a HOOT!!!!

My brain is so dead right now....everytime I turn around there is something else that this man or his staff have done that upsets the common people of this nation.

This 'on-the job training' comment by his staff is utterly the most ridiculous buncha BS I have ever heard.
It ain't like he's going to work in a frickin BURGER KING for cryin out loud :sht:

What the dark one did is nothing but a tribal thing.

Go into the ghetto jungles and see if there are any secrets.

There aren't.
And there won't be in the White House anymore either.

EVERYTHING will be known.
Whether we need to know it or not.

What have you people done to this country...:sheep:

I was wondering if I was the only one who saw that...that was so arrogant.
It was most condescending.

As for the leak, it was well orchestrated by Oboy and to me it shows he is ruthless. I had been working on calming myself but this whole episode has my heart rate way back up there.

Oboy might be trying to lay some ground work to imply Bush did something in the back room that makes an automaker bailout impossible. In other words, while Bush was in there he did something in cement that ties my hands so Blame Bush and not me.

Let's see . .

TWO people having a 'private' converdation, no one else around . .

THEN, some of the conversation goes public??

The BLAME goes to Obama. He is the one who BREACHED the private converdation to someone else. Whoever he shared with will undoubtedly do this over and over until Obama finds himself having to eliminate that person from HIS confidence or he will constantly be backpeddling to straighten things out.

This situation seems such a big deal, over trivia as compared to what Obama might be discussing with his people after a national security briefing that has much greater contents.

While it would be important for a smooth transition, especially due to being at war, I hope between now and the inaguration whomever is giving briefings tones them down some. Our brave men and women in far away places could be truly at risk if the leaks are not stopped.

One has to remember, as a community organizer, or any middle man for that matter, you test/play/manipulate both sides that you are working with - this means that WORDS to one could be different to the other just to get a feel for how things could be to your advantage. Good game in some applications, bad game in others.

Obama wants to 'negotiate' everything, some things are non-negotiable. Our national security and national interests should NEVER be negotiable. Obama's people will sink him and this country to even lower depths than ever before. And YES, Emanuel was the biggest leaking mouth in the Clinton administration. He will be a PITA to Obama in the longrun. This is not Chicago politics, it is world politics, while a thug is a thug, there ARE many different mindsets, etc to the world.

It was a trick. The O-team can say ANYTHING was said in that meeting, and if Bush tries to refute it, it's "leaving on a bad note" at best and "more Bush 'lies'" at worst. There is no defense, because they know Bush won't talk about a meeting he has said was private, and he's on his way out, so his power is waning. All O has to do is whisper in someone's ear, and then "deny, deny, deny."

Clinton playbook, indeed.
