Went to Evansville, Indiana, Costco today. I didn't see any limits. The 40 pack of Kirkland water is up in price to $3.19. The last time I bought water it was $2.99.

WanderLore, I don't understand how people can hurt innocent children. I'm so sorry. Your nettle tea sounds interesting...I never thought of canning tea.

"I could not believe this woman was so careless about exposing others. Another woman who was sitting close to her looked at me, rolled her eyes, and got up and left, too."

I don't know why they call it common sense, 'cause it sure isn't common anymore... :bhd:

Ain't that the truth! This woman was so sick that she had to have her husband drive her to the office. Coughing and hacking all over everyone, and was having trouble breathing. She should have gone to the ER, instead of coming to a doctor's office that only sees patients with high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, etc.....Cary's doctor is an Internist not an emergency care doctor.

The other woman that was sitting next to the desk just got up and walked out. I think she left, without even waiting to see the doctor. From the look she had on her face, once she realized that she, too, had just been exposed, I didn't blame her.

If Cary and I didn't have several comorbidities, we wouldn't have been too alarmed by all of this. Some people are so flippant about it all. I don't understand these people.

leave your cell phone ## with the receptionist >> "Give me a call when you're REALLY ready - I'll be having a coffee elsewhere" >> and make damn sure she knows why you won't be waiting in the Waiting Room - that woman infected that entire room for the next few hours - minimum ....

Yeah, she exposed several people. I was in close enough contact with her for about 10 minutes, until I realized she had Covid, and left. About 4 ft. away from her. Sherree, you're nicer than I am. I would have given her the cussing of her life.
My ending statement to people who really tick me off, is, "When I die, I am going to come back and haunt the hell out of you." The last woman I said that to, turned around and ran. Everybody else in the store laughed.

I thought about saying something to her husband when I got up to walk out, but decided against it. She was too sick to say much to. She was in a wheelchair, because, according to her husband, she was too weak to walk. There should be a law against stupidity.

It's raining today, so I decided not to go grocery shopping. I'll go tomorrow. I did make out all my online orders, and sent them off.

Sam's list was 1 bottle of Benadryl, 1 box of Neutrogena facial cleansing cloths, 2 packages of lozenges, 2 jugs of dehydrated onions, 1 bottle Tone's taco seasoning, and 2 cases of Hormel chili. This is all for added storage in the pantry.

2-12 can cases of beef from Keystone. This will be my last order from them for a good while now that I have a good stock.

Treats for fur baby from Chewy.

I will make a run into Walmart tomorrow to pick up Cary's meds, and I want to get an electric one burner hot plate, some Media Creama(which I can't find anywhere else), another back and knee brace, plus Cary has a few items to get.

Groceries will be very little this time. A flat of canned cabbage, a flat of butter beans, milk, eggs, corn meal, and butter. Both freezers are topped off with meat, so I'm not buying any this time, after ordering from Keystone.

Praying for you Sherree, that you don't get sick.

I took some ivermectin this morning and it tastes awful, so I ate a ritz cracker afterward and it took the nasty taste away. Still can't get DH to take anymore, but he has no fever today.

Cary wants me to double my dose of HCQ. I told him I would if I started to feel sick. I'm only taking half the dose my Dr. has prescribed for me. It won't hurt for me to double it. Hopefully and prayerfully, all the meds I'm already taking will keep me from getting it.

The HCQ should work as a Prophylactic, its a blessing that you have it to take.

We've had rain for the last day or so but it looks like the sun is trying to come out.

I sat down in my chair to read for a bit last night; ended up falling asleep; Hubby woke me up and I staggered off to bed, totally forgetting about putting the beans on to boil/soak, so I guess I won't be canning beans today. All I have on my current list for tomorrow is going to the library to talk to the Social Security lady, and maybe that trip to Aldi, so I'm putting the beans on to soak today and will do my bean canning tomorrow instead. So today, the only things on my list are soaking the beans, making muffins, pulling weeds, and playing with the kittens.

I'd called Employee Health yesterday asking about where I should go to get my mandated Covid testing done since I knew it starts next week; they told me that they'd get back to me - and did so yesterday afternoon. I was assigned a day and told to prepare for a lengthy wait for testing; due to the number of staff requiring testing. I was surprised at the number, but now understand why there have been no threats of termination - at least so far. I had been thinking about picking up a new set of lab coat/scrub pants since I have a 25% off coupon on hand for the uniform shop, but I think I'll hold off using it for a while, just in case. I just can't see them bearing the cost of the materials as well as that much lab time/space for testing for long. I have a really ugly week in the upcoming schedule but I'll just ask Hubby to throw my scrubs in with his work clothes that week.

On the prep front, I did pick up 6 more tubs of 1/2 caff coffee for daughter when I caught it on sale in the pool town. Might stop and pick up a half dozen more. I've tried to convince her that they can share freezer space with the muskrats the 21 y/o grandson has in there, but she's not buying it so far...

Take care all; have a blessed week!

Severe spinal stenosis and extrusion is twice the size as a year ago.
Wheelchair until able to get in for shot in back. If doesn't work, back surgery at some point.
Ug.
Son signed some of the paperwork today for property purchase. Meet with realtor tomorrow to finish.
Gonna need help here. Hubs can't be helpless and daughter will have to take over kids activities.
Prayers if you would, thank you folks

You certainly have my prayers. I had back surgery several years ago, and it's no fun.

Renee, what's your hospital saying about Joe's edict? We were supposed to start weekly testing in Oct, but the WH info says all staff must get vax? Or are you at a private hospital? We haven't been given any updates since Joe's over reaching mandate.

Private. Do take medicare, medicaid but haven't heard that gov $ is an issue as yet.
The 'get vaccinated, test weekly, or no job' came down two weeks ago.; they are getting set up to do weekly testing starting this coming Monday. When did Joe say all staff has to vax?

What was surgery for and did it work

2 herniated disks. The surgery worked, but I fell, and had an accident 2 weeks after the surgery. I reinjured my back. I've had problems with it ever since. I saw my surgeon after the fall, but he said there was nothing he could do to fix the damage. If he went back in, he would have to fuse the vertebrae, and I would no longer be able to bend my back. So, I'm doing the best I can with it.

He came out with it last Tuesday. This is from white house dot gov site.

Requiring COVID-19 Vaccinations for Over 17 Million Health Care Workers at Medicare and Medicaid Participating Hospitals and Other Health Care Settings

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is taking action to require COVID-19 vaccinations for workers in most health care settings that receive Medicare or Medicaid reimbursement, including but not limited to hospitals, dialysis facilities, ambulatory surgical settings, and home health agencies. This action builds on the vaccination requirement for nursing facilities recently announced by CMS, and will apply to nursing home staff as well as staff in hospitals and other CMS-regulated settings, including clinical staff, individuals providing services under arrangements, volunteers, and staff who are not involved in direct patient, resident, or client care. These requirements will apply to approximately 50,000 providers and cover a majority of health care workers across the country. Some facilities and states have begun to adopt hospital staff or health care sector vaccination mandates. This action will create a consistent standard across the country, while giving patients assurance of the vaccination status of those delivering care.

So I almost got bit by a copperhead yesterday....
Thinking today would have to be better. The truck (which has never given me any trouble) quit on me this morning, and none of my farmer friends could get it going to at least get me to the garage. It's sitting at the feed mill waiting on the wrecker.
My friends were kind enough to give me a ride home. something to be very thankful for.

Well dang! My PC quit this morning! :gaah:When it rains, it pours. My time here will now be limited, since I'm having to share Cary's PC. I don't know when I'll be able to get a new one, either. I don't know if I should spend emergency money, or just save up for one.

I'm doing good. No signs of Covid.

For sure, I'll be praying for everyone!

Initially I thought you meant your primary care doctor.

In my opinion I'd get another computer. My old faithful windows 7 died recently but I'd gotten a back up last year from walmart. Laptop around $300, probably more now. I hate windows 10 although its way better than windows 8. I've learned to work with it.

Your HDQ has probably saved you from getting covid, praying for you.

I made it back from all my shopping, today. Got everything on my lists, and didn't see any shortages at any of the stores, but I didn't go all over Walmart. I got in there, and out as quickly as I could! I got the hot plate/burner I wanted, another coffee maker, a flat of canned diced potatoes, media creama, and the back and knee braces. Cary picked up his script meds, and other items he had on his list.

I only got butter, milk, eggs, 6 cans of canned cabbage, they were out of butter beans that I wanted, so I got more purple hull peas, instead. They finally had bags of Tyson chicken fried steaks that we like, so I bought 3 bags of those. 2-5lb bags of potatoes and a bag of yellow onions, a 5lb bag of corn meal, and 2-3 pack package of yeast, and that was it for another two weeks.

Cary checked the tracking on my online orders, and they were all shipped out, today.

Cary also checked my PC. He worked on it for awhile, and finally it worked, but I left for town, and didn't have time to get back here. It's working fine now, but I do need a new one as a back up. I'll still consider using emergency money to get another one. Both of ours are old.

Do ya'll think I need to quarantine myself for 2 weeks? I don't know. I didn't even think of it, until I was already in town, today.

Got all my shopping done for today. Got canned diced tomatoes for .37 a can so got the limit. I might go back tomorrow for more. I'm still good on home canned but never hurts to have extra. I got everything on my list but the shelves look kinda bare except for toilet paper! Plenty of that lol.
Hamburger has gone stupid crazy $$$ here so none of that this week. Other cuts of beef are cheaper it seems. Bought a pack of cube steak for Sunday dinner that was a decent price. At this rate event though I no longer want to process a deer if we get one I will.
I do need to stock up on some non food items too.

We put 2 more bushels of tomatoes in the freezer. Hubby was going to pull the plants, but I mildly objected, saying I hated to throw out good fruit. (Since I'm laid up with my back, I'm not a lot of help most days with picking, etc). He decided to pick the rest, and gotv2 bushels of really nice fruits. While we were cutting them, he said, "I'm not trying to go overboard, but with all the food shortages in the news (he watches Market to Market on RFD every morning), I'd be happier with these in jars..."

It's wonderful when you get support in prepping!

I wouldn't quarentine either, I suppose you would wear cloves, to protect yourself.

Like I said earlier I agree to get a back up computer. I've used a laptop since Katrina killed my nice new desktop PC.

I have a small list of things for grocery store shopping. And i'm curious to see what's going on on the grocery store shelves.

Prep wise - the first load of ham and bean soup is in a canner; I will work on getting the rest of the beans canned up over the next couple of days before I return to work Sunday night.

It'll be catch as can as to when I get them done - tomorrow I'm going to the pool with my neighbor lady; then she's taking me out to lunch for my birthday. We may go on up to the Amish bulk food store while we're out and about - I'll check for more canning jar lids, and maybe some more gallon jars as well. Then I have to be at the Football game by 5ish as they are going to introduce the JFL kids. Back to daughter's house after the game for birthday pie (My Mama always made me an apple pie for my birthday; my grandsons are carrying on the tradition  ) Then Saturday one grandson has a soccer game, and by the time it's over, we have to head to the other side of town for the other one's football game.

Hubby doesn't work Sunday, so maybe he can do some of the canning since I need to catch a nap in the afternoon as I go back to work that evening. I plan to do a total of 24 jars of ham and bean soup; then will turn the rest into pork n' beans. I keep one canner in the kitchen all the time, but will need to have Hubby get another one down (Why are the heavy things ALWAYS on the top shelf?) so that I can have two going at a time. I'm trying to decide whether to can the pork n' beans in pints or quarts. It would take less time to do them in quarts, but I'm afraid there might be some waste when we open them. Guess I can do one canner load of quarts; then do the rest in pints...

Happy Birthday Renee!

SB, I use my phone for everything. I have a Chromebook, but my phone doesn't use hardly anything to stay charged on my solar and it's smaller than laptop.
I don't think I'd quarantine. Do what Renee says if your worried. But honestly, there's a lot of stuff out there right now, not just the C.

Summer, oh I hope your back gets better!

Went with son today to realtors. He signed the purchase agreement, got it for less that she asked. He also rented it while the mortgage is going thru.
So we all spent 4 hours cleaning and it looks really nice. There are some small things to fix, just cosmetic stuff.
Got most of the yard cleaned. He is really excited now!
I prayed constantly, silently. I want him to have a life. Not get stuck here with us old folks.
He got pizza for all of us.
My daughter worked hard inside, I worked on yard and boys helped with everything. DH did the fixing. Praise the Lord he knows how to do almost everything. Even worked on skirting. Son got back from the realty errands and helped too.

Awana was a lot of fun last night. 2 missionaries who do music and skits with yoyos. Everyone had a blast.

Son has to work tomorrow so I will go fax papers and drop off checks.

My back is yelling at me but I'm determined to get this done so he can move in and start enjoying his home.

Bless you all and take care of yourselves.

Part of my Sam's shipment just arrived. I was surprised when I opened the box. They sent us some free stuff! 2 sample sized bottles of eye drops, 2 regular size bottles of hand sanitizer, 2 packets of Pedialite (sp?) powder, and a package of Energizer brand vision HD headlamp with 3 extra batteries. Getting free stuff from them in a package has never happened to us before. Anyone else this has happened to? I also got the 2 cases of Hormel chili and Benadryl that I did order. The rest of my shipment is on the way. It seems to be common, now, that my Sam's orders come in seperate shipments over a week's time, or a bit longer.

I like getting free stuff!

ETA...All of these free items were divided up, and rolled into 3 medium sized reusable Sam's Club shopping bags, so I got free shopping bags, too.

Probably the reason you are getting your orders in several shipments is your stuff is coming from different warehouses. Mine is like that from different places. Not what we are use to, but not much is anymore.

SB, are you sure you didn't receive part of someone else's order? Is there a packing note that says anything? Hard to believe WM would give away so much free stuff, but who knows anymore!
