Guess where the first gold rush in the US was?

Used to know an A-10 pilot who always said "Go ugly early." :D

Would *I* Lie???
Why are they paying for haircuts.
fkn ded!! excactly!

I was thinking to myself when I read this the first time, almost posted to this effect... I was like "damn, the day I chip off gold flakes for haircuts is the day I GIVE UP MFin HAIRCUTS!!" then right away I was like, oh yeah.. I have NEVER been to a barber in my life. Cut my own hair for the last 20+ years (once or twice a year..) and my mom cut it before that. Never could see paying $20 to get a few inches cut off every couple weeks.

If barbers are making a living.. it ain't a real crisis... ain't nothing 'survival' about a haircut or shave... and in that dire of situation, where it could get MUCH WORSE in a short time... blowing money on cosmetics is risking your life... but so many even in the US spend the last part of their money the day or wo before they get paid so... I mean it's not really a 'third world' thing ..

Has No Life - Lives on TB
... the Sakajawea ... didn't last long ...

They're still minting Sacagawea dollar coins. You can buy the 2021 version (the reverse design changes every year) on eBay. When you mentioned Harriet Tubman you may have been thinking about the old Susan B. Anthony dollar coins. Those were the ones that were silver-colored and about the same size as a quarter (major design fail). Regardless of the people who keep calling the Sacagawea dollar coins "the gold dollar" (not "golden" but specifically "gold"), there's not so much as a speck of gold in the coins so it's irrelevant how much they're "valued at."

I've never paid for a hair cut.

I've cut hubby's hair our entire marriage, and DDIL cuts DS's hair. I cut my own. But I do admit that people in different life stages have different priorities, and economic disaster doesn't totally change them. I'm sure young men and women are still dating, and still trying to impress potential mates. A "professional " haircut is likely important to them.

This is why during WWII, when food was rationed throughout Europe and many were starving, there was still a thriving black market on chocolate bars, nylon stocking and lipstick.

Those planning on surviving this mess need to understand this, and be prepared for it.

A "professional" haircut? Well, my hair looks like Professor Einstein's.
