Aker’s West Virginia
A family heirloom tomato of Carl Aker of Pennsylvania. Originally from West Virginia. These organic tomato seeds produce a vigorous highly productive, regular leaf, heirloom tomato plant that yields an excellent set of large, 10 to 16-ounce, deep-red, slightly flattened tomatoes in clusters of 2. Fruits show little or no cracking and have a well balanced sweetness to acidity. Delicious, robust flavors.

Purple Dog Creek tomPDC
Purple Dog Creek (copied) is a very rare family heirloom from the small community of Dog Creek near Munfordville Kentucky. I say it's very rare because very few have seeds for it outside of Dog Creek. The tomatoes were served as part of a "thank you" outside dinner served to a WV preacher and members of his congregation. They went to Dog Creek to do home improvements for the low income elderly of the area. The preacher liked the tomatoes so much he asked if anyone had seeds for them. One of the guys at the supper had grown and brought them. He went home and brought the preacher back some seeds. One of my friends in Martinsburg WV is a member of the preachers church. They got to talking about the trip to Dog Creek and the preacher offered some seeds to my friend. He grew them and loved them. He sent me some last year and I grew them this year. They are dark pink less than 1 pound although I've heard they grow to 18 oz. They are very good. Strong plant and fairly productive
Lehrertomate Organic Tomato Seeds - "Teacher Tomato"
This rare German variety yields huge, beefsteak-type slicers that are absolutely delicious. The fruit are meaty, with few seeds, and are slightly ribbed. We grew only 12 plants this year and harvested nearly 170 pounds. Numerous fruit weighed over 1.5 pounds, with the largest reaching 2.3 pounds. We will continue to grow this wonderful variety in the coming years, but our seed supply is limited this year.
66 Days, Open-Pollinated, Indeterminate
Does anyone have a favourite paste tomato? I usually just plant Amish Paste and San Moranzo, but would like to try some others this year.
Debarao, Fresh Salsa (from Burpee) or Royal Chico... the only variety I've ever seen survive and then outgrow late blight when the weather improved.Does anyone have a favourite paste tomato? I usually just plant Amish Paste and San Moranzo, but would like to try some others this year.

I planted 4 Rutgers, 4 Celebrity, 4 Early Girls and a bunch of peppers. I still have 6 Big Boys to get in the ground today. My green beans are coming up. I still need to get some cukes and squash planted today if I can beat the rain.
Maybe that’s why I have stayed with them, always a favourite one with most gardeners. And they are the most popular. Those two are my favorites.
Royal Chico I did see at Seedy Saturday. I will have to look at the member list. Thanks.Debarao, Fresh Salsa (from Burpee) or Royal Chico... the only variety I've ever seen survive and then outgrow late blight when the weather improved.
