Congrates on backing the winning horse

I don't agree with most of his veiws and policies but he did win.

now the question i pose is for thouse of us who are very very worried about the future of our country under his rule. what do you know or can say that will dampen our worries.

in an effort to unite thouse of us who are against him ,we will need to be assured that he is not going to be the one to usher in the end of our nation.

but his stance on the 2nd, his seeming willingness to spead the wealth from the workers to the non workers. and his dealings with people who seem to be very much anti amercan has me very worried indeed.

so have at it obama supporters i will not flame you for your thoughts I just have a need to hear the voice of reason to help calm my fears.

Well, maybe this will help. Bush has a 20% popularity reading right now. I heard somewhere, that it would be hard for ANY new president to do worse than Bush did.

But in all seriousness. Most on this board can't stand Obama. That is what's called freedom of speech and thought.

But personally, since there is little to be done now at worrying about what might happen down the road when Obama steps into the office, I'm going to wait and see what does happen when he gets into office.

TB is great in putting people into panic mode with many dire predictions. I've been here for 8 years and know this to be true. Considering how people are feeling all over the world about Obama, he will have to tread very carefully in what he does. All eyes will be on him including and especially those that voted for McCain.

So, my opinion is try to relax at this stage, and just keep a watchful eye open.

I am far more concerned about what the economy is doing right now, then what happens 2 1/2 months from now.

The stock market usually goes up after the presidential election yesterday it dropped a record of almost 500 points and today -443 points that over 900 points in 2 days. That should tell you what they think of Obamanation.

And I'm not talking about the Obama supporters.

Seriously, I'd like to know too.

We heard precious little detail from BO other than he's not Bush and you must be racist if you don't vote for or question him.

Iraq is already off the table, BO back-tracked, ditto for the no tax increases for those making under 250k.

Contrary to what you have been told, we Obama voters do not want to see guns seized, Christians rounded up into concentration camps, the world governed by the UN, the disabled forcibly euthanized, homeschooling banned, or forced vaccinations with imbedded chips.

Be assured that if this happened, we would be fighting beside you. This dirty liberal even promises to take a shower before she jumps down into the foxhole.

Wonder how many people will buy this claim. The press folks know how to search scan the news wires and the internet. It took them less than 24 hours to dig up dirt on Joe the Plumber and Sarah Palin, yet nary a peep regarding Ayers and his other assocations, ACORN etc.

Flame away. I've got my suit on. Judge me not by my post count, but by my membership date.

I have ALWAYS adored Senator McCain. (I wanted RP but he didn't make it on our ballot)

It's way too easy to block things the POTUS does. (okay, forgetting for a moment there about executive orders) I personally think that SENATOR McCain can do more for this country than he would be able to do as POTUS.

FWIW I voted for McCain in the 2004 primaries against W.

Ayperi...the problem I see is now the Libs are in control of all three parts of the goobermint and people like Pelosi, Biden and SChumer are well-seated and the new people Obama is surrounding himself with are not "Pro America".

Sure- McCain and the others 'may' be able to but 'will' they when their family members start disappearing? Would they anyway?

Remember-most of them [incl McCain] were there for the first AWB and now with Obama the AWB is going to only be one of many tactics used against "White, clingers to God and Guns."

As far as anyone voting for him supposedly 'getting in the trenches' with me?

Don't attemp to do so in my trench.

I do not trust anyone who was an enemy and suddenly changes sides.

Dig your own fortification and when I see you have actually killed what I consider an appropriaye amount of my enemies perhaps we will talk.

Aw gee, Sat. Does this mean you wouldn't help me use my arsenal. ;)

TB2K is my family. I feel closer to all of you (even though I don't post much) than I do to most of the people near me. I don't care what your political affiliation is, I don't care what your religion is. I've got your back against any enemy that will threaten my "family". Even though we may have voted for different people, but darn it all, if you needed help, I'd be there for you if at all possible.

But, a couple of these would be OK? Seriously, what would it take to make you belive that the Democrat party did not represent you? How much lunacy would it take?

I think one reason McCain lost is that most Conservatives didn't believe McCain shared their views. No reason to vote for him. He didn't energize the Conservative base.

Bush's approval rating has never been as low as that of Congress. If you were paying attention, you would already know that.

True but with congress there are 435 Representatives and 100 Senators around to spread the blame and there is only one President. Most Americans can't name their Representative or their Senators, but most can name their President.

Well, I'm not reading anything remotely close to an assurance yet, nothing more than, he's not Bush (still).

Not a link, not a speech, nothing, nada.

While I wouldn't label myself an Obama supporter I must admit I voted for a Democratic president for the first time in my life. Why?

As Colin Powell noted, it is time for a generational shift in our politics. Powell isn't reputed to be a leftist namby pamby.

It's very interesting to me to see the responses from world leaders to the election - many humorous (and much hubris) statements given, which open the doors to more possibilities in terms of potential relationships. Yeah, I'm sure that many if not most of y'all would prefer the unilateral we're the shit kind of geopolitical dealings as in years past, but that's over.

Bush and the NeoCons have rendered the US insolvent, impotent and apparently incompetant. I'm hopeful that a new administration will straighten out our balance sheet, bring a more youthful and focused approach to governing, and approach our international relationships in a thoughtful and rational manner.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, for answering a question about why you support Obama without the first word of your sentence being "Bush"!!!

I feel better. Seriously. Thank you.

In my opinion, since my name isn't Barack Obama, he will be a whole lot more moderate than people expect him to be, as 44th President of the USA. He will be very much Pro-American, in the traditions of FDR and LBJ (without the endless war stuff that Johnson had to battle). But, the first thing he'll need to do is to shore up the leak in out economy's dam, which threatens to destroy us all (rich, middle-class and poor, alike). Unless we, as a nation, can get a handle on this issue, no matter how well-meaning he may be, nothing else can be accomplished that will move this nation to a place of leadership in the 21st Century.

Specifics? Who knows, for certain? I don't. Hope he's as good at being Presdient of All The People as he was at winning the election.

I've been ruminating this whole shebang since Tues. night.

It's come to me that maybe Obama is a fall guy?

Think about this.

First, the pubs put up a 'rebel' of the pubs and then choose a no name (well she use to be one) VP.

That POed a ton of pubs as well as POing them about McCain.

The MSM goes bonkers over Obama and it showed in many ways.

Oh yeah, the economy hits the porcelain roundy thing.......that is nothing new, that has been apparent for some (think of John Galt for one) for some time.
You don't think the govt boys didn't know this too? Gotta great bridge for sale.

So Obama wins...and in almost record time McCain concedes....that was a mystifier to me and others.

Now today, look at the MSM........it's almost like they are already distancing themselves from the Obama adulation.

Obama, a relative outsider to DC politics (yeah yeah a JUNIOR Senator) is now stuck with our DEPRESSION (let me be one of the first to claim that).

He could bring in a trillion loaves and fishes, walk on water and turn water into wine and this country will still be depressed after 4 years.

Bingo. The man didn't come through, the pubs cry!

Time for a.......hmm what? A CHANGE?

Scapegoat Bama goes down as the second H. Hoover and the worst president ever in the whole universe!

Just something to think about while you are knawing your nougats.

To write that the global economic crisis is akin to a leaky dam attests to your continual and baffling ignorance on economic matters, favoring instead to reduce complex situations to a vague, metaphysical experience.
