West Admits Russian Glide Bombs Might Actually be "Game-Changer"

- CNN admits Russian glide bombs are not only shifting lines on the battlefield, but are growing in quantity and capabilities;

- Russian glide bombs allow Russian warplanes to release munitions out of range of Ukrainian air defense systems, hitting targets with explosive power many times larger than artillery, rockets, and missiles;

- Ukraine's dwindling air defense capabilities are unable to neutralize this growing threat and the arrival of US-made F-16 warplanes are unlikely to help;

"Drone Attacks" Hit Another Russian Refinery As Swing Producer's Refining Capacity Drops

BY TYLER DURDEN
SATURDAY, MAR 23, 2024 - 12:15 PM
Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian oil refineries continued in the overnight hours, with two separate attacks. The latest wave of drone attacks on the Russian refinery system has forced the swing producer's daily average oil refining rate to drop to a ten-month low.

Bloomberg reports a suicide drone caused a fire at the Kuibyshev refinery in Russia's Samara region. The fire was extinguished at the refinery, which has an annual capacity of 7 million tons of oil. There was no word on damage or how much output was affected.

View: https://twitter.com/Osinttechnical/status/1771438133063614571?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1771438133063614571%7Ctwgr%5Ea750b413ca862bfce5626545c527453ba2fd7883%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.zerohedge.com%2Fcommodities%2Fdrone-attacks-hit-another-russia-refinery-swing-producers-refining-capacity-drops

A second drone attack was reported at the nearby Novokuibyshevsk refinery. However, local governor Dmitry Azarov said defense personnel repelled the drone without causing any damage.

"There were drone attacks on oil refineries in the region. At the Kuibyshev refinery, there was a fire at the primary oil refining column," Azarov said, as quoted by Interfax news service.
The latest attacks come as new data sourced from Bloomberg shows Russia's average daily oil refining rate was around 5.03 million barrels between March 14 and 20, down more than 400,000 barrels a day from the average for the first 13 days of the month—or a ten-month low.

Source: Bloomberg
A new phase of the war is underway as Ukraine's replacement for artillery is cheap suicide drones targeting the Russian oil export machine deep within the country.

So far, drones have targeted 13 major refineries and two smaller plants, reducing processing capacity by about 480,000 and 900,000 barrels a day.

Source: Financial Times
According to a person familiar with the data, Rosneft PJSC accounted for half of Russia's lost processing capacity in the last week after drones damaged two major facilities.

Russia's reduced refining rates indicate that authorities will focus on boosting domestic supplies, resulting in lower crude product exports worldwide.

"The latest attacks targeted primary refining processing units resulting in Russian waterborne product exports decreasing by an average 1 million b/d over the last two weeks," Wood Mackenzie Emma Howsham wrote in a note.

Howsham noted the disruption so far is "still unlikely to move the needle or impact sentiment around the softening global diesel/gasoil market."

Meanwhile, Washington officials warned senior officials at Ukraine's state security service and military intelligence directorate that repeated drone attacks on Russia's energy infrastructure could drive up global oil prices.

Of course, the Biden administration would be concerned about these attacks because the last thing the White House needs is soaring energy prices reigniting consumer and/or producer prices. Also, higher crude prices would complicate the Federal Reserve's planned pivot.

In the Middle East, there are increasing fears that Iran could be on the cusp of weaponizing crude as Houthis could launch a drone and missile attack on processing facilities at Abqaiq and Khurais in eastern Saudi Arabia (read: "The Weaponization Of Crude Could Trigger The Next Financial Shock").

Successful attacks on these refineries would be enough to push Brent into triple-digit territory.

Moscow Terror Attack — Rogue Ukrainian Op or Western Backed?

Larry Johnson (former CIA) does a good job of putting the known facts together;
https://sonar21.com/moscow-terror-attack-rogue-ukrainian-op-or-western-backed/

Lots to cover with respect to Friday’s mercenary terrorist attack in Moscow. Why do I call it “mercenary”? Because it appears that the perps had no ideological axe to grind and were hired for a relatively paltry sum and carried out indiscriminate killing at a public gathering of civilians. Based on the video evidence released so far in the public domain the planning for this op was not the work of skilled professionals — e.g., they used the same vehicle to travel to and from the attack site, their movements inside the building demonstrated unsophisticated Close Quarter Battle skills and they had poor muzzle discipline, which means they had minimal rifle training.

The Russians got a jump on the investigation because one of the concert goers coldcocked one of the shooters, and the shooter was captured alive. The Russians also followed the escape vehicle and nabbed four of the suspects as they skedaddled for Ukraine. The western media is doing its damnedest to push the storyline that this was an ISIS attack and dismiss the possibility that it could have been Ukraine. But the initial questioning of the suspects revealed men of limited intelligence — i.e., guys who are not too smart — who told a cock and bull story that they were recruited via a telegram channel by an anonymous source who offered to pay them the princely sum of $5000. There also is no good explanation why a band of Tajiks were hightailing it for the Ukrainian border. At a minimum that shows a belief that they would find safehaven if they could get across the border. They certainly did not behave like diehard jihadist warriors eager to sacrifice themselves and go to Paradise and cash in the reward of 72 virgins.

I think the Islamic terrorism claim is a red herring and designed to shift attention away from the other indicators that some in the West, at a minimum, had foreknowledge of this attack. How else to explain the March 7 warning by US Embassy Moscow for American citizens to steer clear of event, such as concerts? And then, as I wrote yesterday, the US State Department was quick to issue a claim exonerating Ukraine for any role in the attack. The fires were still raging at the Crocus facility. That means only one thing — the State Department had intelligence indicating who carried out the attack. But the U.S. apparently did not share that with its Russian counterparts. That lapse alone is simply going to stoke more suspicion in Moscow about Western involvement.

But we already know one thing for sure — that the West has been involved with facilitating a series of terrorist attacks against Russians since the start of the special military operation. What else do you call the artillery and missile strikes on Russian civilians in the Donbass,] and in Belgorod, with munitions that were supplied by the United States and other major NATO countries? At a minimum, that makes western powers an accessory to an act of terror.

Friday’s senseless slaughter of civilians in Moscow serves no broad, political purpose, nor does it advance Ukraine’s military prospects in anyway. It is important to note that the attack has rallied world sympathy for Russia, including some conciliatory comments out of Washington by National Security spokesman John Kirby. However, it is also important to note the President Joe Biden has said nothing, and has made no contact with Vladimir Putin to express sorrow or empathy. Quite a contrast with Biden’s actions in the wake of the news that Alexey Navalny, a political opponent of Vladimir Putin, had died. Biden was quick to express his fake grief for the death of Navalny.

It appears that the growing death toll from the attack was not caused by bullets, but by smoke inhalation. I still have seen no report explaining how the fire got started. Some speculate that it was caused by a Molotov cocktail. I’m sure those details will be coming out in the next few days. It is also clear from President Putin’s demeanor during his speech today that Russia will retaliate against those responsible for this attack.

I do not think that this act of terrorism is going to change Russia’s military strategy and plans for Ukraine. News from the front shows that Russian forces are continuing to advance all along the front in the Donbass, and are pushing the Ukrainians back towards the Dnieper River. The position of the Ukrainian military is becoming more precarious with each passing day.

As far identifying those responsible for organizing and funding this attack, I have no special insight. I am confident that Russian investigators will be able to trace the origin of the firearms, assuming the serial numbers have not been erased. At this juncture, I am inclined to believe that the West knew something was going to happen based on intelligence out of Ukraine, but did not have specifics other than this was an operation approved by Ukraine’s intelligence service. Is it possible that some British and/or American intelligence officers had an inkling of what was going to happen? Yes, I think that is highly likely. The one thing I know for certain is that this attack is going to strengthen the will of President Putin, the Russian general staff, and Russia’s intelligence service to put an end to NATO meddling in Ukraine, and the ability of NATO proxies to attack the Russian people. Whoever approved this badly miscalculated and will pay a terrible, but well deserved, price.

So what do you think? Western directed or rogue operation?

Just for informational purposes and clarity:

If Poland ATTACKS that negates Art. 5.

If Russia has a fly over of Polish territory, for like 38 seconds, on the way to some place else, that also negates Art. 5.

Lot of misunderstanding on NATO Article 5 -
If a nation STARTS an action - no A5
If a nation is ATTACKED - then A5 kicks in - BUT there is ZERO requirement other nations take action - it is up to each NATO nation as to how they will support the attacked member and to what extent.
Bottom Line: if Poland or France jumps in they are outside of NATO A5 - going to the party by themselves

Wow - all this for 30-40 sec and a massive 2000 meter violation of their air space.
But on the other hand the only missile attack - that actually landed in Poland Killing 2 - was from Ukraine.

These people are insane and may well get us all killed. The US - which is the head of the hydra - has had its way and thrown its weight around since the end of WWII. Those days have ended, but we (the US) have failed to recognize it.

Now, with a senile and doddering head of state and a historically small military infused with effete, LBGTXYZ trappings, we want to play power projection games against some of the largest military and nuclear powers on Earth (as well as their countless smaller allies). Except that it's not a game and our potential adversaries realize this far more profoundly than our schlerotic, politically-correct, Inside-the-Beltway and Pentagon minions.

You can only successfully play chicken against an opponent who's not willing to die. Yes, you can play chicken against an opponent who is willing to die, but you can't do it successfully. The Russians - and to a lesser though no less serious degree - the Chinese, have made it crystal clear that in issues of national survival their end game will be utterly terminal.

The western elites, ready to immediately bolt into their subterranean survival warrens, see you and I as not especially important collateral damage. They seem to honestly believe that they can go underground and return in twenty or a hundred years to a depopulated and green paradise. They've no doubt had bevies of Ivy League think tank eggheads plot it all out for them.

The only thing that will be waiting for them underground will be Satan and his demons.

Russia Goes Medieval on Alleged Takij Terrorists with More Circumstantial Evidence Pointing to Ukraine and Western Culpability

More analysis by Larry Johnson
A number of videos have appeared on Telegram purporting to show the Tajik POV of their attack (WARNING — Very Violent) and the response of Russian security forces — also quite brutal. The circumstantial evidence revealed so far certainly supports the claim that this was a Ukrainian operation poorly disguised as an ISIS-K attack and that the United States was clued in on what was expected to happen. Despite the “War Porn” nature of these videos, I think there is some benefit from posting them.
