I all honesty, to have a war you have to have two sides with the will the fight. Do you honestly believe The Obama Administration would fight over Georgia? They showed no backbone with North Korea, and they have not exactly been leading the defense of Pakistan. Whatever forces we have in the area will be withdrawn, and we will talk to the Commies, who know this. Sorry WW3? I don't think so! There has been no outcry over Venezuela taking over another American oil company either.

Besides, our administration is more enamured with Socialism that defending Freedom. I know some of you will give me some heat on that statement, but I am sticking to it. Bombings are on the rise in Iraq, and now Afganistan doesnot want us to use our airpower anymore.....and we won't!

Agreed infoscout, we won't fight over Georgia.

SoT goes further though, he's saying these actions will eventually result in a direct attack on the US.

Are you sure about that?
:applaud:......yuppers....and all that horseradish has given Fred some good ole, down to earth.... horse sense

on top of that, WW3 is not going to happen because of anything that happens in Georgia. NOT going to happen. Why would Russia risk MAD (from U.S. and Nato subs)?

MAD doesn't exist. At some point there is a calculation to be made on acceptable loss of life via nuclear exchange. When Russia decides that that acceptability intersects with the realities on the ground, game's over. From what people like SoT are are seeing, the Russians have been pushing the equation. FWIW, I See it too, thought not necessarily from the biblical perspective. (I see a biblical armageddon as an eventual reality, but I don't think it will be a human nuslear exchange. We'll survive that, unpleasant though it may be.)

MAD is NOT real. There will be survivors, and Destruction is not Mutually Assured.

Let me add: I DO indeed see that Georgia could indeed be the start of WWIII. Georgia is a major, white-hot point. It is the equivilant of Serbia circa WWI.

After studying the web-bot in unex, and with a weak, dump president, I think
Russia will attach. The bot context seems later this year or next.

I don't know about the bots, in all honesty. I don't know about the efficiency of web majicks, or even if such conjuring is real, but I have had a great deal of deep red wine this evening, and I am of a similar DARK humor. We are in for the final stages of the old chinese curse, of that I am sure. IF the bots (made of bits and bytes and sundry algorithims) agree with me, who am I to argue?

This was what I suspected could occur. The Georgia-NATO confrontation might be used as a pretext for Russia to deliver the S-300 air defense missile system to Iran. Israel will not hesitate to strike Iran if they see the system being deployed IMHO, and that's World War Three. Of course, the Russians should well know this.

Russia stands firm on Iran arms sale

Moscow stands firm on its military-technical cooperation with Tehran, saying Iran has a clean record when it comes to using Russian-made weapons.

"The weapons [Moscow] has sold to Iran have never been used against any other country," said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in a Friday interview with Russia Today.

Lavrov said that Georgia, as opposed to Iran, has used Russian-made weapons "to kill Russians, to kill civilians, including Russian peacekeepers who are serving under the international agreement signed by Georgia."

The top Russian diplomat asserted that Moscow sells exclusively defensive systems to Tehran; therefore, there is no room for Western concern.

"Whatever we sell to Iran or to any other country is not covered by any prohibitions internationally or nationally. In the Russian Federation, we have one of the strictest export control legislation. And whatever we sell to Iran in particular is only of defensive nature," Lavrov added.

Moscow walked a tightrope of criticism after Russia's state-run arms exporter Rosoboronexport confirmed in December that it is supplying Iran with a number of defensive systems -- one of which was the S-300 interceptor.

Iran has been interested in the sophisticated S-300 surface-to-air system to enhance its defensive prowess against a potential Israeli attack on the country's nuclear infrastructure.

Washington and Tel Aviv, meanwhile, lashed out in fury over the sale of the S-300, which according to Israeli and American intelligence sources, would make Iran's nuclear facilities "inviolable" in the face of Israeli air strikes.

According to Israeli sources on Monday, Moscow has been rather shady on the issue so far and has not taken the required steps to address Tel Aviv's concern.

The most we have at this point is "a vague assurance" that the deal is not going ahead, an Israeli source told Reuters on conditions of anonymity.

"The Russians don't make promises of this kind," said another Israeli defense source while criticizing Russia's mixed message on its alleged $800 million deal with Iran.

Belarus denies plans to sell Syria, Iran weapons

MINSK, May 8 (RIA Novosti) - The Belarusian president denied on Friday the country had any plans to sell weapons to Syria or Iran.

Earlier this month some Russian and foreign media reported Belarus was planning to sell S-300 surface-to-air missiles and Iskander tactical missile systems to Iran, and said that Tehran had arranged to transfer some of the systems to Syria.

"As far as S-300 and Iskander [missiles] are concerned, these complexes cannot be exported without my approval. There is not a single contract or project related to these systems that I have been asked to approve. This is utter nonsense," Alexander Lukashenko said.

He added that Belarus "has no Iskander missiles, while S-300s are all in operational service."

The latest version of the S-300 family is the S-300PMU2 Favorit, which has a range of up to 195 kilometers (about 120 miles) and can intercept aircraft and ballistic missiles at altitudes from 10 meters to 27 kilometers.

The Iskander-M system (NATO reporting name SS-26 Stone) is equipped with two solid-propellant single-stage 9M723K1 guided missiles with "quasi-ballistic" capability.

Reset
I had a somewhat detail response, but I have decided to delete it.

Read Daniel 8 and consider that this is an ENDTIME prophecy.

Then read Rev. 18.

Also, keep in mind Russia will be intact (Moscow will still exist), when it attacks Israel. It is GOD who stops Russia. Not American nukes in a MAD limited or not, war.

I've said enough.

It is a mistake to ignore GOD's direct hand in these endtimes events.....

In any event, America is toast. That is certain. It really saddens me to say that, but I can see no other course for her. And the Bible says so too...

:siren:Russia warns foes in Soviet-style show of might

May 9 07:20 AM US/Eastern

:siren:Russia on Saturday sternly warned its foes not to dare attempt any aggression against the country, as it put on a Soviet-style show of military might in Red Square including nuclear capable missiles.:siren:

The display to mark the 64th anniversary of the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in World War II came amid renewed tensions with Georgia after NATO's decision to hold war games in the Caucasus country infuriated Moscow.

"We are sure that any aggression against our citizens will be given a worthy reply," President Dmitry Medvedev said in a speech in Red Square side-by-side with powerful Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

"The victory over fascism is a great example and a great lesson for all peoples and is still current today when people are again starting military adventures," he added.

Russia's war with Georgia in August over Georgian breakaway regions sent Moscow-NATO ties to their worst level since the Cold War and tensions have flared again over the alliance's decision to go ahead with the exercises.

Moscow, which remains at loggerheads with Georgia's pro-Western President Mikheil Saakashvili, angrily condemned the war games that started this week as a provocation that risk stoking instability in the region.

"Protecting the motherland is our holy duty, it is a moral foundation for all generations," said Medvedev. "The future of Russia will be peaceful, happy and successful."

Before handing over to Medvedev as president last year, Putin resurrected the Soviet practice -- dropped after Communism -- of having missiles and heavy tanks rumbling over the Red Square cobbles in front of Russia's leaders.

Thousands of soldiers and more than 100 items of hardware featured in the Red Square parade, which was matched by similar demonstrations across Russia involving almost 30,000 troops, officials said.

Thousands of soldiers marched past Medvedev and Putin, before dozens of heavy tanks, including the main T-90 battle tank and the Sprut self-propelled anti-tank gun, thundered through Red Square to the sound of martial music.

There was a rare public showing for some of Russia's best known missile systems, including the S-300 and S-400 anti-aircraft missiles, the short range Iskander-M and the medium-range Buk.

As in 2008, Russia proudly showed off a half dozen examples of its nuclear-capable Topol intercontinental ballistic missile which has a range of more than 10,000 kilometres (6,500 miles).

Squadrons of fighter jets also flew over Red Square.

The parade was overseen by Defence Minister Anatoly Serdukov, a civilian ex-furniture salesman implementing a hugely controversial military reform to eliminate Soviet-era structures and prepare the army for modern warfare.

"Greetings comrades! I congratulate you on the 64th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War," Serdukov, dressed in a suit, told the soldiers from an open-top car.

"Hurrah!," shouted the soldiers, creating a huge wave of sound with the traditional Russian victory cry that shook Red Square.

According to the Russian authorities, 8.6 million Soviet soldiers and 27-28 million civilians were killed in the conflict. Officials have repeatedly emphasised that Russia's role in defeating Hitler should never be forgotten.

Moscow has been festooned with official posters with slogans like "May 9, a holiday in our homes and in our hearts" while state television has repeatedly played archive footage of the war.

The restoration of the heavy weaponry to the parade is a throwback to the days when reclusive Soviet leaders would observe the proceedings from the top of Lenin's mausoleum on Red Square.

However as in 2008, Putin and Medvedev avoided embarrassing comparisons with the past by surveying events from a podium rather than the mausoleum, which was largely hidden by a festive hoarding.
