I think the article should be a stand alone thread. A lot of people will not click on this older thread, but I think the repercussions of this, which could be swift, are important and people should be prepared for the consequences. Especially since biden said in advance that Nordstream will be stopped. If another country did this, we and many other countries would say that it was an act of war. We just ticked off most of Europe, including Russia. Sigh. We could pay a heavy price for that which biden may have done.

I agree, and I think within 6 months things will be really ugly worldwide. I'm going to use this time wisely.

Voting in their fraudulent elections……

Paying into their murderous coffers……..

Accepting any funding, subsidization, “relief $” from them……

Is consent.

NATO is a military alliance of a group of nations. Did the actors "brief" all parties to the act? Did they ask permission?
Did they consult regarding an act of war against Russia? And Germany?

Why wasn't it sufficient to "sanction" the pipeline so that it could not be used?

The European Union is an economic partnership between a group of nations. Were these nations consulted on the act since it affected their economies? Did NATO simply independently cause economic harm to the economies of every EU nation simply to keep Germany in line? Did everyone agree?

I wonder how the citizens of Hungary feels about this? Or Checkia or Moldova or Serbia or . . . ?

Did YOU agree to pay higher fuel prices so that the US could replace the energy that was lost?

Inquiring minds and all that

I think that the second half of this year is going to be very difficult, and I'm preparing for more than the usual 4th of July fireworks. There could be serious financial/credit system lockup, possible geopolitical schisms, and heightened civil unrest. Top off preps early! If possible, attend to foreseeable medical/dental issues early as well. Efforts to increase resilience and flexibility are likely to be of considerable benefit this year. Any areas that depend on "just-in-time" or everything being "exactly as I want, when I want" might be a problem!

Who We Are

Nord Stream AG, based in Zug, Switzerland, is an international consortium of five major companies established in 2005 for the planning, construction and subsequent operation of two 1,224-kilometre natural gas pipelines through the Baltic Sea.

The five shareholders of the Nord Stream consortium are Gazprom international projects LLC (PJSC Gazprom subsidiary), Wintershall Dea AG (formerly Wintershall Holding GmbH), PEG Infrastruktur AG (E.ON), N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie and ENGIE. Gazprom international projects LLC holds a 51 percent stake in the pipeline project.

Leading German energy companies Wintershall Dea AG and PEGI/E.ON hold 15.5 percent each, and the Dutch natural gas infrastructure company N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie, along with the leading French energy provider ENGIE, each hold a 9 percent stake. The combined experience of these companies ensures the best technology, safety and corporate governance for the Nord Stream project, which aims to provide a secure energy supply for Europe.

The twin pipelines, which have been operational since 2011 and 2012 respectively, have the capacity to transport a combined total of about 55 bcm of gas a year – that's enough to satisfy the energy demand of more than 26 million European households. Nord Stream has designed the pipelines to operate for at least 50 years.

Total investment in the pipeline system was 7.4 billion euros. This financing stemmed partly from Nord Stream's shareholders, which provided 30 percent of the project costs through equity contributions proportionate to their shares in the joint venture. Some 70 percent was financed externally by means of project financing from banks and export credit agencies.

COPENHAGEN, March 23 (Reuters) - Denmark on Thursday invited the Russian-controlled operator of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline to help salvage an unidentified object found close to the only remaining intact gas pipeline under the Baltic Sea.
Three explosions last September on the Nord Stream pipelines built to deliver Russian gas to Germany have become another flashpoint in a standoff between the West and Russia set off by its invasion of Ukraine.

The blasts occurred in the exclusive economic zones of Sweden and Denmark. Both countries say the explosions were deliberate, but have yet to determine who was responsible.

Last week, Danish authorities said a tubular object, protruding around 40 cm (16 inches) from the seabed and 10 cm in diameter, had been found during an inspection of the last remaining intact pipeline by Swiss-based operator Nord Stream 2 AG.

"With a view to further clarifying the nature of the object, Danish authorities have decided to salvage the object with assistance from the Danish Defence," the country's Energy Agency said in a statement on Thursday.

"The Danish Energy Agency has in that context invited the owner of the pipeline, Nord Stream 2 AG, to participate in the operation," it said, adding it was awaiting a response from the operator.

The pipeline operator is controlled by Russian state-owned gas company Gazprom (GAZP.MM).

Authorities have assessed that "the object does not pose any immediate safety risk," the agency said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said last week that a ship rented by Gazprom had found an antenna-like object about 30 km (19 miles) from the explosion sites. It was not clear if he referred to the same object that Danish authorities will attempt to salvage.

The last intact pipeline has remained idle as Europe has cut most energy ties with Russia. The pipeline still contains gas, but the operator said last year it had lowered its pressure as a precaution.
