One of the nastier features of this bug is that it's apparently infectious before there are symptoms. The gay community may be insanely promiscuous and disregards infection, but it's also limited to some degree. Now that it's well out of the gay community, I wonder what the growth rate will look like. A month from now should be interesting.

Once school starts, we’ll know.

Most of my gay friends are married and monogamous and have been for years. I guess they're not the norm...
The insane women I used to work with OTH, were picking up men every weekend and taking them home with them. I'm talking women in their 50's and 60's, married and single. Every Monday I was wondering if I was going to hear that one of them had gotten themselves killed...

How are children contracting monkeypox?

Initially the spread was tightly linked to the gay community. At some point probably in the recent past or just possibly in the near future, it will be mostly in the general community. Then it spreads by contact, aerosol, fomites, and has nothing to do with sex or politics.

Before long I suspect we'll routinely see members reporting it in their families.

The high hopes they had for AIDS, finally realized. Fauci strikes again ...

Only one possible way.

Correct! The had to contract it via breathing the same air as someone infected, shakes hands with someone infected, shares a meal with someone infected, touches clothing or blankets that someone infected touched, using a toilet that an infected person touched, touching an object someone infected touched, or some other method of direct physical contact.

Not necessarily.
I’ll try to find it, but apparently at the press release regarding the two kids….their was hesitating when it was said that the children had contact with a gay situation.
I think they DO know.
Don’t worry.
This will all come out.
US records first two CHILD monkeypox cases: California toddler and an infant in D.C. were likely infected by 'household contacts' and both had contact with gay or bisexual men, CDC chief says

I'm on vacation this week, but I'm trying to keep an eye on this thread. The increase in cases and the different messages (gay only, not gay only /actually airborne, spread through fomites) are also concerning. I'm also keeping an eye on work emails to see if any at the top are reacting to this developing problem. So far, crickets.

It was posted that we have 7 MPX cases in Iowa. I haven't seen anything on the local news about that, not that I really expected it. I'm also monitoring the campus news for Iowa State and University of Iowa. Nothing there, yet, either.

You're talking about a couple kids. I'm talking about the population of the US from birth to age 20 or 25. Once the bug is loose in the world, backtracking all those cases is a waste of time.

Nothing on our news either, really. And we’re up to 33 cases.
I’ve been searching for counties and cities involved …but nothing!
Unless I’m searching incorrectly.
Have fun on your trip! :)

NYC wants to rename Monkeypox on the grounds that it is racist so they can call even more people racist.

We're calling on @WHO to act immediately to rename the “monkeypox” virus. We have a growing concern for the potentially stigmatizing effects that the messaging around the “monkeypox” virus can have on vulnerable communities.

Release all the inmates. It's the safest thing to do.
A 30 day hitch in county adds years onto those miserable shitbags' lives.. they sober up, get some sleep, eat healthy meals, and drink water! tossing them back onto the bricks is actually the greater good for society!

That inmate has been there since July 19.
What about:
The cops who busted him. Their families.

The transportation getting him to jail.

Laundry and food service workers.
Cleaning crew

Those who handled him before… they discovered he was infected?
I highly doubt that jail is properly equipped for handling this type of infection even though….they say he’s in isolation and “theyprepared “ for this to happen?

Do they have PPE for a virus that’s cousin to Smallpox??
What about their ventilation system?

Who knows. I guess it could all turn out to be just fine.

This is the actual write up for the waste water treatment plants; it’s a brief, easy to read document.
