There are people in the liberty movement that attribute FAR too much intelligence to the global power elites, to the point that they seem to think the globalists are always planning “ten steps ahead.” The funny thing about planning ten steps ahead though is that if anything goes wrong with steps 1-9 then getting to step number 10 will be impossible and you just wasted a whole lot of energy on an elaborate plan that ended up going nowhere. The globalists are NOT the smartest people around; not even close. They aren’t even all that effective when their plans actually function and there are no surprises. Their ideas fail constantly.
There is only one reason that centralizing criminals have not been brought down, and that is because no one has ever targeted them directly. Every time there is a governmental shake up or rebellion or mass movement for change people target “the system”; they blame the system for all our problems (or they blame a handful of political puppets) and they seek to add a fresh coat of paint or change some of its basic functions, but the men behind the curtain always end up back behind the curtain. The problem is never “the system”, it’s the people running and influencing the system while enjoying the comfort of the shadows.
Here is how the globalists seem to operate the best that I can tell – They aim a fist full of darts at a board and throw as hard as they can and whatever sticks is what sticks. When a plan does stick, well the globalists appear to be brilliant, don’t they? In reality they were just throwing around schemes blindfolded and half of those schemes landed in the gutter. The problem is that while the globalists are fumbling around in the dark searching for a plan that works they can do a lot of damage and draw a lot of attention.
Every once in a while it becomes obvious when they have invested an immense amount of time and planning into a single unique scheme, a fulcrum point that many of their other plans will rely on in the future. There is no doubt that the response to the covid outbreak was meant to bulldoze over numerous social and legal conventions and achieve full bore centralization before the vast majority of people even knew what hit them.
The pure excitement and adrenaline on display by the globalists at the onset of the pandemic was palpable. They were practically dancing in the streets, jabbering about how many worldwide socialist programs they were about to railroad through, not to mention how many individual liberties they were about to erase.
That said, when a plan doesn’t stick the way they want, sometimes they try to force it to work and this never goes well for them. We’ve seen this multiple times with their attempts to institute gun control in the US and they have failed over and over again. More recently, the covid agenda and by extension the globalist “Reset” has fallen apart in the US and this has led to problems for them in other parts of the world.
American resistance to the vax mandates and lockdowns was key to everything, more so than I think many people realize. Even if the globalists could implement medical tyranny through much of the rest of the world, with conservative red states blocking the agenda at every turn this created a focal point for resistance. Meaning, all the people in the world can still see that there is another way to do things that does not involve authoritarianism. Life in the red states goes on as if covid barely existed. Conservatives are not “dying in the streets” like the lunatic liberals said would happen. In fact, millions of people have been LEAVING blue states and coming to red states just to be free.
When you offer people alternatives, you offer them a glimpse of freedom, and sometimes a glimpse is all that is needed to inspire rebellion.
I believe that it was red state resistance that led directly to the Supreme Court blocking Biden’s illegal and unconstitutional vaccine mandates. If the red states had not take such an aggressive stand, the whole country might be under Biden’s thumb right now as he hands out dictates from on high, or, we would be at war. I also don’t think it’s a coincidence that the UK government decided to remove all covid mandates right after the US Supreme Court dropped restrictions in the US. When freedom is visible it spreads.
It’s hard for western governments to explain to their people why they should be enslaved over the covid virus when so many other people across the ocean live their lives normally in the face of the same illness. This doesn’t mean that some of the worst offenders will not try to maintain their wretched grip on their populations. It would seem that the Australian government has been lost to globalist tyranny forever, but they still will not be able to deny the reality that conservative Americans are free. There will always be a chance for revolt within Australia exactly because we are living proof that covid mandates do not need to exist.
Since the very beginning of the covid pandemic I have argued that the virus itself was a lab engineered bioweapon, most likely created in the bowels of the Level 4 facilities in Wuhan right down the street from what is widely recognized as ground zero. I have also argued from the very beginning that evidence shows that the NIH and Anthony Fauci have been involved in the funding of manipulation of coronaviruses at the Wuhan Lab for many years. Meaning, there has been collusion between western elitists and Chinese scientists to weaponize covid through gain of function research. This is now exposed as FACT.
What I don’t know for certain is if the virus was released deliberately, or accidentally. What I can say, though, is that the globalists at the World Economic Forum and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation held a “simulation” of a global coronavirus pandemic only two months before the real thing happened. The simulation, called “Event 201”, seemed to predict almost everything that would eventually happen with the real coronavirus outbreak that started in China, right down to news companies and social media giants locking down all information that didn’t fit the narrative. There was just one problem – The virus wasn’t as deadly as they had hoped.
Event 201 predicted 65 million initial deaths worldwide and the WHO predicted a much higher infection fatality rate of 3% of the population or more. This never happened. The globalists and the media have been scrambling for the past couple years to convince the public that the death rate of covid is much higher higher than it is, but the fact remains that dozens of studies show covid’s average IFR is a mere 0.27%.
It’s not going to change for the worse, it is only going to decline as covid continues to mutate into less deadly forms of itself.
Why did this happen?
It’s impossible to say. Maybe the virus performed differently in the lab but then changed dramatically once it was let out into the wild? That would be my guess.
Maybe it was divine intervention? For whatever reason, the globalists invested an intense amount of energy into the covid virus and it let them down, and now they are stuck trying to create mass panic over a nothing-burger.
So, what happens next?
It makes sense that they will need a distraction as a means to redirect momentum, and the globalists will do what they always do, which is create war tensions. This does not mean that large scale war is the intended outcome, but limited regional wars that could grow into something more are always on the table. It is not a mistake that the US could potentially be caught up in not one but two major regional conflicts at this time, including a Chinese invasion of Taiwan as well as a Russian invasion of Ukraine.
For now, Ukraine is the most hyped. We have seen such spill over with Ukraine many times in the past and it’s hard to say if this is yet another false start or if a full blown Russian attack is going to happen. With constant US influence, funding and arming being pursued in the region I suppose getting the Russians to invade would not be that hard. I’m not really interested in trying to read the dice on this one. My only interest in Ukraine is in how it might benefit the overall globalist agenda.
- First, the economic instability that has been growing exponentially the past couple years will now hit overdrive. Inflation, gas prices, the supply chain, all the threats that are already looming over us will expand tenfold with two nuclear powers at odds. Even if Ukraine saber rattling was to choke out into nothing just the existence of the danger is enough to inspire widespread economic fear.
- Second, the pandemic issue can be cast to the wayside with little fanfare. The globalists know its going nowhere for them but they need a way to exit without explaining the numerous lies they have peddled in the past two years. War is a way to wipe the slate clean on the news cycle.
- Third, heightened tensions with Russia open the door to a different form of paranoia at home. How many times have we heard media claims of “Russian influence” on US elections? There is ZERO proof of this, but the narrative has already been planted among leftists. It would not surprise me in the slightest if US elections were “postponed” or the outcomes ignored because of unverified claims of Russian “interference.” What better way to prevent a complete conservative sweep in the US than to simply stop the elections altogether?
- Fourth, by extension, it is only a matter of time before a conservative rebellion arises in the US to unseat the globalists from power. It is already happening in may forms today, for those who are paying attention. The most common way for corrupt governments to undermine a rebellion for freedom is to accuse it of being an astroturf revolution created by a foreign enemy. That is to say, the corrupt government seeks to take away the heart and soul of the rebellion by claiming they aren’t fighting for freedom, they are only fighting in exchange for money or power from a foreign nation. Their reason for fighting is “fake.”
Make no mistake, when the fighting starts in the US, our rebellion will not be called a fight for freedom. We will be accused as “Russian agents”, traitors, insurrectionists, etc, etc.
They’ll say we’re fighting to support foreign governments, not to bring liberty and sanity back to our society. We’ll be the villains; it’s important to understand this and not be bogged down by 4th generation warfare. It is for this reason primarily that conflict with Russia makes a lot of sense for the globalists.
Perhaps not on the scale of a global war, but enough to keep their prospective populations in line. Whether or not this plan succeeds is another matter entirely. As already mentioned, these people fail regularly.

US Grocery Shoppers Have Their Eyes On The Price

Norwegian online grocer Oda has reportedly seen a drop in sales of carbon-intensive products after introducing sustainability scores to its receipts. As Statista's Felix Richter reports, each product is given a rating based on its carbon footprint, aiming to raise awareness among customers, who are responding well to the initiative, according Oda’s sustainability director Louise Fuchs.
Would a similar model be an option for the U.S. as well? According to findings from Statista’s Global Consumer Survey, it seems unlikely.
A December 2021 survey among grocery shoppers found that U.S. consumers have their eyes on the price first, revealing that sustainability criteria (e.g. buying seasonal, regional, fairtrade) play a smaller role in the purchase decision.

Raising awareness of products' different carbon footprints could certainly be a first step towards creating more conscious shoppers, but for the millions of families just trying to make ends meet, price will always trump conscience.

Ford To Invest Up To $20 Billion To Accelerate Shift To Electric Vehicles

Ford has announced today it plans to spend as much as $20 billion to accelerate its shift to electric vehicles.
The company's newest reorganization efforts are being spearheaded by Chief Executive Officer Jim Farley and Doug Field, the former head of Apple’s car project.
Under the plane, Ford will spend $10 billion to $20 billion over the next 5 to 10 years to convert factories from traditional ICE production infrastructure to buildings with EV production capabilities, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday.
The report said that Farley wants to "challenge Tesla’s dominance in EVs".
Already, investors have rewarded Ford's initiative, with its stock touching multi-decade highs near $25 per share and a $100 billion market cap earlier this month.
The reorganization is also going to result in a hiring binge, according to the Bloomberg report, which said that the company will sport "a reworked Ford organizational chart, including the hiring of an unspecified number of engineers specializing in disciplines relatively new to the company, such as battery chemistry, artificial intelligence and EV software."
Ford has also considered spinning off some of its EV business in order to capture some of the valuations that the market is assigning to EV companies. The spin-off would involve lower-volume EVs while the legacy company would continue its focus on mass market EVs.
A Ford spokesman said Tuesday: “We are executing our Ford Plus plan to transform the company and thrive in this new era of electric and connected vehicles. We would not comment on speculation.”
The shift doesn't necessarily portend a quick exit from ICE vehicles, however. Bloomberg wrote:
In addition to Apple, Field was also a former executive at Tesla. Farley has overseen Ford tripling its output of its electric Mustang Mach-E and doubling production of its coming F-150 Lightning.
“I really admire, frankly, the difficulties they had and the way they managed those difficulties into the success they had,” Farley has previously said of Tesla.
"They are now making more than $10,000 a vehicle, because of their scale. I like that kind of business.”
The CEO commented last week: “What it takes to succeed in this digital, connected, electric product are talents and know-how and a way of managing the business that’s different than what we’ve done in 118 years. It’s kinda like snowboarding and skiing. We both share the lift, but as soon as you get off the lift the intuitions are wrong between both businesses. You have to really relearn to how to get down the slope.”

Fourth Turning 2022: Bad-Moon Rising, Part 3

In Part Three of this article, I will examine how the civic decay in our society, created by the ruling class, will coalesce into a bloody firestorm of death and destruction during the remaining years of this Fourth Turning.

There had been a theory discussed a few years ago regarding the nature of Fourth Turnings alternating between externally focused and internally focused. It is more about the key drivers, as all Fourth Turnings are impacted by domestic and foreign influences. Even though the sample size is small, this Fourth Turning appears to be following the alternating pattern. The American Revolution was driven by conflict with a foreign power (Great Britain), with another foreign power (France) tipping the scales in favor of the patriots. The Civil War was almost entirely a domestic internal conflict, with Great Britain not fully supporting the Confederacy, and tipping the scales in favor of the North. The Great Depression was created by global central bank machinations, with World War II almost entirely fought on foreign soil, leaving the U.S. as the unchallenged leader of the free world after 1945.
It is evident to me this Fourth Turning is being propelled domestically, as the unbridgeable rifts between political parties, states, cities, races, and genders are being stoked and amplified by globalist billionaire elitists. The accelerating level off civic decay and our rapid descent into chaotic conflict has not occurred spontaneously but has been engineered as a crucial element in the Great Reset scheme to “reimagine” and “reset” the world.
Klaus Schwab, the front man for the Davos elite, and sociopath of the first order, sees the deaths of millions from a purposely weaponized virus as a “window of opportunity”. When he refers to “our world” he isn’t including you in his world. You will own nothing and be happy. He and his billionaire death cult will own everything and keep you enslaved in debt, under technological surveillance, with the threat of violent retribution if you do not bend the knee.
Anyone who has observed the level of violence, murder, lawlessness, and mayhem sweeping the country over the last two years who thinks our country isn’t descending into a chaotic hellscape, are either willfully ignorant or benefiting financially from the orchestrated turmoil. The BLM looting, rioting, burning and murdering escapade, which went on for over a year, and strangely subsided once Trump was disposed of, was not a kinetic reaction to the death of a black drug addled felon being restrained by a white cop, but a well-funded orchestration designed to create havoc in cities across the nation, as part of the plan to destabilize our society.
These staged “protests” were funded by Soros and his ilk to accomplish multiple goals: eliminating Trump; destroying small businesses; weaponizing uneducated blacks; crippling law and order by scapegoating police; and generating outrage by law abiding white people across the country.
You know BLM is nothing but a front organization for Soros, because they have no interest in protesting or stopping the mass slaughter of black teens in the urban ghettos of Philly, Chicago and all the other Democrat run hell holes across the land. Race baiters on MSNBC like Sharpton & Joy Reid are nothing but grifters stoking the flames of a fake racism narrative to please the Soros crowd.
It is an unequivocal fact George Soros and his cohorts have funded the election of district attorneys, mayors, governors, and congress people with massive influxes of money, guaranteed to put into place Marxist Manchurian candidates who will do the bidding of Soros and the Great Reset World Economic Forum elite.
There is no other logical explanation for why Soros would spend tens of millions to get DAs elected in Chicago, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Milwaukee, St. Louis, and numerous other Democrat controlled cities, who have absolutely no interest in prosecuting violent felons or even keeping them confined. The narrative to maximize the chances of a race war is the goal of Soros and his media mouthpieces.

However, while ESG investing is about taking these risks into account in investment decisions, these are all the things NOT on a company’s balance sheet or earnings statements. Such is the inherent problem.
However, as is also the case, with the recent surge in liberal policies, woke activism, and demand for social justice, Wall Street is more than willing to sell products to fill a need. Not surprisingly, with plenty of media coverage, ESG investing has become an enormous business.
Following the financial crisis, ESG funds had roughly a ZERO market share of total assets under management. Today, ESG-labelled funds in the United States exceed $16 trillion.
The question is whether investors are getting what they are paying for?
What Are You Paying For
In the late ’90s, there was a significant movement by Wall Street to limit investing in “sin” stocks such as gambling, tobacco, etc. Just as it was then, investors initially jumped on board, but when returns failed to match the S&P index, that “fad” died away.
The same occurs today as investors who want to be “woke” are demanding products that make them feel good to purchase. However, there are many problems with ESG outside the labeling.

More Scam Than Benefit
The problem with ESG funds is that inconsistencies and abuse are rife.
Another example is the recent Exxon Mobil board seat challenge by Engine No. 1. With the backing of Blackrock and several pension funds with close ties to Blackrock, Engine No. 1 secured three board seats for the company.
The NY Post made an interesting point.
“Now with Engine No. 1 likely to occupy three seats on Exxon’s board, it isn’t too much of a stretch to see the company passing Fink’s ESG screens for his ETFs with flying colors.”
Good For Me
If you think investment managers are doing it for the “good of the environment,” think again.
Why would they change their name and not their holdings? Good question.
Show Me The Money
“Complete fraud, a joke, jargon, so ridiculous” were among the choice words Social Capital founder and CEO Chamath Palihapitiya used to describe the growing ESG movement.
With ESG now the rage, the “demand” drives product development. However, there is also an understanding of why large asset managers have embraced the strategy so readily—higher fees.
Let’s revisit the table of the two funds above, now fully disclosed.

Yes, you too can own an ESG fund that is almost three times as expensive as the S&P 500 index, all for the sake of “feeling good about yourself.”
According to The Wall Street Journal:
Look again at the table above. Furthermore, there are virtually no significant differences in the ESG ETF except that Blackrock put their company stock in the lineup. But, of course, there is “no self-serving purpose” in doing that except that as billions pour into the ETF, it boosts Blackrock’s stock price.
“The kicker, of course, is that ESG strategies aren’t any more expensive to run than their more-traditional counterparts.” – Wall Street Journal
Oh, and by the way, while you are complaining about how Wall Street has created a “wealth gap” in America, remember every time you buy their funds, you are increasing THEIR wealth more than yours.
Wall Street Wins Again
The problem with ESG, while the concept is undoubtedly well-intentioned, is that where money flows, greed always follows.
Here is something else for investors to consider.
ETFs are supposed to carry lower fees than regular funds because they mirror a typical basket of stocks like the S&P 500, as shown above. However, by “claiming” to have ESG screening methods, Wall Street found a way to inflate management fees of a simplistic investment.
Laughing To The Bank
Unfortunately, for investors, while these funds cost much more to own, their performance isn’t any better than just holding the substantially cheaper index fund. As shown, the correlation between Blackrock’s USA ESG fund and the S&P 500 Index is almost perfect.

In short, while Wall Street pushes out products to make “you” feel like you are socially responsible, they laugh all the way to the bank.

Austria’s vaccine mandate law will take effect on February 1, 2022. Despite the evidence that the “vaccine” does not protect people from Covid but increases the chances of infection from Omicron and hospitalization, last week, the Austrian Parliament approved mandating the experimental mRNA gene therapy injections.
From mid-March, the law will see adults (residents aged 18 and older) who refuse the jabs subjected to steep fines and potential prison time. The vaccine order is expected to remain in force until January 2024, with the government investing €1.4bn in measures designed to target the unvaccinated and get them jabbed.
A majority of MPs, including those from the unelected Chancellor, Karl Nehammer’s governing leftist coalition, and the three main parties, backed the bill to mandate the injections by 137 votes to 33.
FPÖ Herbert Kickl: “You Will Not Escape Your Just Punishment”
The only real opposition to the measure was the Austrian Freedom Party (Freiheitliche Partei Österreichs, FPÖ). The FPÖ is Austria’s only major political party fighting against compulsory Covid “vaccinations.”
Hours before last week’s vote to mandate the Covid vaccines, FPÖ Leader Herbert Kickl delivered a historic speech on the floor of the Parliament. The leader condemned his colleagues and vowed to continue his fight against their authoritarian actions.
Mr. Kickl believes that the “introduction of compulsory vaccination is a gigantic attack on the freedom of the people in Austria!” Furthermore, “compulsory vaccination is an assault on the human dignity of the population,” exclaimed the leader.
The mandate “paves the way to totalitarianism in Austria,” stated Kickl. He slammed the government for embracing China’s communist rule and for persecuting its citizens like criminals:
Totalitarianism: what the individual wants no longer counts, only what is good for the masses counts, and what is good for the masses will be dictated in the future by experts of the calibre of Health Minister [Wolfgang] Mückstein, who will tell us what is good for the masses, and whoever does not comply will be persecuted like a criminal. Ladies and gentlemen, this is a door opener for dilettantism and arbitrariness in equal measure, and can never gain our [Freedom Party’s] approval.
For more than a year, the Freedom Party has warned citizens that the government would use Covid to strip them of their freedoms while making themselves more and more powerful.
Furthermore, the leader condemned Parliament for smearing his party and accusing them of being “liars” when they warned of his colleague’s plans to mandate the “vaccine.” Kickl read each of his colleague’s quotes which were made over a period of months, where they swore they would never support compulsory vaccines:
While the Austrian Parliament is fighting to mandate vaccinations for citizens, other countries have begun to end their measures, explained MP Kickle. Spain wants to treat Covid like the flu, Great Britain is phasing out all measures, and the Czech Republic is abolishing the planned compulsory vaccination,
The Austrian Freedom Party leader vowed he would continue to refuse the experimental injections despite the new freedom-crushing law. Furthermore, he promised to overturn compulsory vaccination by using the existing administrative apparatus and democratic elections! “We promise you that”:

More Government Lies: Millions To Be Declared ‘Unvaccinated’
Further proving FPÖ Leader Kickl’s point that Chancellor Nehammer’s government can not be trusted, on January 6, 2021, the Austrian government announced its new plans to force citizens into receiving more than two mRNA injections. The current unelected Chancellor has reduced the “Green Passports” validity to six months. As a result, millions of citizens who were considered “fully vaccinated” six months ago are now classified as “unvaccinated” by the government. The only way to get the document reissued for those who have lost their Green Pass is to receive a booster injection.
Furthermore, Chancellor Nehammer mandates citizens to wear N95 Masks in most outdoor locations and tightens restrictions against unvaccinated individuals in retail settings.
Around 3.8 million Austrians were considered “fully vaccinated six months ago.”
They trusted Austria’s former ÖVP (Austrian People’s Party) Chancellor, Sebastian Kurz, and the Greens that if they received double injections, Covid would be over. Those who received the jabs believed they would have done their part to contain the virus, and soon everything would be back to normal.
The “vaccinated” appear to have been misled on many counts. Six months later, nothing is back to normal. Now the new ÖVP Chancellor Nehammer has declared all of these trusting people to be unvaccinated unless they submit to additional doses of the mRNA gene therapy.
In response to the government’s false promises, freedom-crushing restrictions, and mandates, tens of thousands of Austrians have taken to the streets each weekend to protest. In addition, Austrians have been begging for people worldwide to shine a spotlight on their government’s mistreatment of them.
Covid Numbers Spike – The Vaccinated Are Infecting Each Other
Just yesterday, the Austrian government was also forced to admit that their two-month-long discriminatory lockdown for the unvaccinated completely failed.
The lockdown was instituted after a supposed significant increase in ‘infections.’
However, during Austria’s lockdown for, the “unvaccinated” infections skyrocketed, which may indicate that it’s the vaccinated ‘infecting’ each other.
Despite this glaring failure of the mRNA shots, the government is forging ahead with the country’s vaccine mandate
Since mid-November, unvaccinated people have only been allowed to go outside to, for example, go shopping, play sports, or in some cases, work. The “unvaccinated” will still be barred from large parts of public life, including restaurants and non-essential retail.
Nick Hope, a 97-year-old Holocaust survivor imprisoned at the Nazi concentration camp Dachau, warned against the Austrian government’s authoritarian and totalitarian Covid measures. “When I look at the news in Austria, I see the spirit of Hitler, the spirit of force coming there,” he said in a video message recently posted at RAIR Foundation USA.

China Is Undermining The US Through Elite Capture: Author

The United States is currently traveling down a losing path in its battle against China because the communist regime has co-opted many American elites in Washington, Wall Street, corporate America, and the U.S. tech sector, warned author Peter Schweizer.

(Kevin Frayer/Getty Images)Schweizer, who recently released his new book “Red-Handed: How American Elites Get Rich Helping China Win,” said that his book shows how appalling it is that some of the elites have been willing to “kowtow to the regime” just so that they have access to the Chinese market.
“They should be embarrassed,” he added. “They seem to be all too happy to do the bidding for Beijing when it comes to American politics.”
Schweizer made the remarks during a recent interview with EpochTV’s “China Insider” program. He is also the president of U.S.-based think tank Government Accountability Institute.
“I think what’s important for people to keep in mind is that Beijing doesn’t have to lobby for its own interest, because there are so many powerful interests in the United States that will lobby on their behalf,” he said.
The present course will only mean that China will replace the United States as the world’s top superpower, according to Schweizer.
“Unless we start to take radical action, we will lose, there is no question in my mind,” he said.
“We will lose because our elites will be happy to sell out, collect their money, and position themselves in elite positions for generations to come.”
That outcome does not necessarily mean that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) would occupy the United States, he added, but America as people know it will be very different.
“For some people who say, ‘Look, that’s not my concern,’ this should be their concern,” he said.
“Life here is going to be heavily influenced by what the regime in Beijing wants.”
Washington
One of the U.S. government officials named in the book is Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), and how the longtime senator has come to the defense of the CCP while her husband, Richard Blum, reaped profits by inking business deals with Chinese firms with ties to the Chinese regime.
In defending the Chinese regime, Feinstein compared the 1989 Tiananmen Square Massacre—where at least 10,000 people were killed by Chinese tanks and soldiers—to the 1970 Kent State shootings and the 1993 Waco siege in Texas, according to Schweizer’s book.
“I was appalled as anyone by the tanks at [Tiananmen] Square, but three tanks of this government went into Waco and killed 29 children,” Feinstein said during a Senate hearing.
“Now those are not analogous; they are different situations. It was wrong of our government, and it was wrong of the Chinese government.”
In 1994, when the U.S. Senate was contemplating rescinding most-favored-nation trading status with China, Feinstein objected and said such a move would be “counterproductive” and would “inflame Beijing’s insecurities.”
The book also explores the relationship between Feinstein and former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin, going back to the days when they were mayors in San Francisco and Shanghai, respectively. The book quotes the Los Angeles Times saying the relationship gave Blum “access to the normally impenetrable Beijing political system.”
In 2000, Kam Kuwata, who was Feinstein’s then-spokesperson, was quoted in SFGate saying that Blum “has a right to do business and he’s never done anything wrong.”
Silicon Valley
“Beijing is very sophisticated in appealing not only to the pocketbooks of these players, but also to their egos,” Schweizer said, pointing to Microsoft founder Bill Gates as an example of the latter.
In 2006, China’s state-run media outlet People’s Daily Online named Gates as one of 50 foreigners shaping “China’s modern development.” According to his book, Gates was the only true technologist on the list.
“He’s a member of something called the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), which sounds sort of friendly and nonpolitical. It’s actually, of course, an organization run by the [Chinese] Communist Party, and its goal is to advise the Chinese government on technology policy,” Schweizer said.
Gates was one of 18 foreigners selected by the CAE to be one of its lifetime members in 2017, according to People’s Daily Online. The media outlet explained that the foreigners would be to “improve CAE’s status in the field of engineering.”
The CAE supports the Chinese regime’s policies. In a 2018 article published on its website, CAE’s party committee stated that it provided “important scientific support” to the regime’s industrial blueprint of “Made in China 2025,” while endorsing its “Military-Civil Fusion” strategy and “Belt and Road” initiative.
In June last year, Microsoft was in the middle of controversy when its search engine Bing yielded no results when users in several countries including the United States entered the query “tank man,” the iconic unidentified man who was pictured standing in front of a line of tanks leaving Tiananmen Square in 1989. Microsoft’s explanation for the empty search result, “accidental human error,” drew criticism from human rights organizations.
The CCP
In short, the Chinese regime doesn’t care if American politicians are Republicans or Democrats, as long as they are willing to do Beijing’s bidding, Schweizer said.
“They don’t mind if American politicians talk about the Uyghurs occasionally, or say we should have a diplomatic boycott,” Schweizer said. “They’re fine with that.”
“As long as you’re helping them on the main tenets of what they want, which is access to American finance and access to American technology, and a few other things.”
Schweizer added: “That is the strategy they’re employing.”
The Commission on the Theft of American Intellectual Property estimated in 2017 (pdf) that the U.S. economy suffers an annual loss of between $225 billion and $600 billion due to China’s intellectual property theft each year.
Last year, FBI Director Christopher Wray said that the agency is opening one new China-related counterintelligence case every 10 hours, and has about 2,500 active investigations across the United States.
“My sense of what people have to understand is, the nature of the Chinese regime is such that it cannot be trusted,” Schweizer said. “And I don’t think it can be trusted in its relationship with us and we need to keep that in mind with everything.”
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Feinstein’s office did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Sexual Harassment in VR, The Proteus Effect and the phenomenology of Darth Vader — and other stories….

I recently shared my experience of sexual harassment in Facebook/Meta’s Venues. Within 60 seconds of joining — I was verbally and sexually harassed — 3–4 male avatars, with male voices, essentially, but virtually gang raped my avatar and took photos — as I tried to get away they yelled — “don’t pretend you didn’t love it” and “go rub yourself off to the photo”.
A horrible experience that happened so fast and before I could even think about putting the safety barrier in place. I froze.
It was surreal. It was a nightmare.
Since the development of VR, developers have been working towards creating ways to engage with virtual reality for the benefit of humanity. Benefits like increased human connection, augmented empathy, and new opportunities for education are commonly listed as positive impact of VR’s potential. VR content generates patterns of stimulation, including light photons for the eyes, acoustic input for the ears, and tactile or haptic stimulators for touch. The way these stimuli are presented will give the user a sense of immersion. The immersive features lead to a sense of verisimilitude between oneself and the programming through an all-encompassing setting created by three aspects of VR; First is immersion itself, meaning that the user feels like they are in another environment. Second, specific embodiment aspects to the technology gained by users must have a sense of active presence. Third is the concept of embodiment, feeling that the virtual body (avatar) is the physical body. Embodiment can be further expanded reconsidering the components of an experience that feels similar sensations towards a virtual body inside a virtual environment as toward the biological body (and vice versa).
Virtual reality has essentially been designed so the mind and body can’t differentiate virtual/digital experiences from real. In some capacity, my physiological and psychological response was as though it happened in reality.
The Proteus effect is the tendency for people to be affected by their digital representations, such as avatars, dating site profiles and social networking personas. Typically, people’s behaviour shifts in accordance with their digital representatives.
A study took data from CharacTour, an app that has users take a personality quiz and matches them with the fictional characters most like them – the data allowed the researchers to see which characters people were attracted to. Whether good or bad guy, people preferred characters like themselves.
This work suggests that what makes characters or avatars in the Metaverse ie. Daffy Duck or Darth Vader – and what potentially makes these personas attractive to people, is not that they are the inverse of who we are, but that they actually might echo pieces of who we are,” (4)
Darth Vader is one of the most popular villains of all time — note that in theory, a prerogative of fiction is to provide us with the freedom to explore our dark side.
This brings me back to is it real? — is the Metaverse, or are the Metaverse(s) in current development, intended to be real or not? If the purpose of Virtual Reality (the current mode of human-computer interaction for immersive experiences) is to simulate real life — and it has essentially been designed to viscerally, with all 5 senses (yes, smell can be included), as real as technology permits — then we are designing non-fiction.
My experience of sexual harassment was, to say the least, shocking. Shocking because I am not accustomed to be spoken to in such derogatory ways, maybe back in 1996, but certainly not in 2021.The comments on my post were a plethora of opinions from — “don’t choose a female avatar, it’s a simple fix.”, to “don’t be stupid, it wasn’t real”, “a pathetic cry for attention”, “avatars don’t have lower bodies to assault”,“you’ve obviously never played fortnite”, “I’m truly sorry you had to experience this” and “this must stop”.
And I’m also sad. Sad that the current state of VR has been predominantly (and yes I know there are positives forces out there) has been heavily driven by proponents of VR is fiction — violence, sexual fantasies, and to be quite frank — hate. A world where the Proteus effect runs rampant, and people are living out the Darth Vader of their personalities. But in actual fact, VR is, was and continues to be designed to be non-fiction to human physiology and psychology.
As we invite more and more people into VR, XR, AR, MR (and other Web 3.0 tools) we need to become conscious to the fact the these are designed with “realness” as a key component.
Ultimately, the decision is made. Virtual Reality, Metaverse, and other technologies are designed for human interfacing. By design, to offer us ways to engage with the world, supported, integrated and symbiotically with technology — and no matter how we progress we will always be human and humans are real.

I like to imagine myself as an explorer. On a frontier that has yet to be explored, full of anticipation, excitement, hope and with that — fear. But I am a determined woman (with a strong community around me), not about to be deterred by 3–4 avatars to scare or intimidate me.

Biden wants no ID to vote, but an ID test and more to see your own IRS info

Surveys find 81% of U.S. adults support voter ID requirements. Yet Joe Biden recently condemned state election integrity laws that strengthen voter ID protections as “Jim Crow 2.0.” This supposed “threat to our democracy” is so grave that Biden equated supporters with overt racists like Bull Connor and George Wallace.
But if the president thinks checking IDs and verifying voter rolls is racist, how can he condone the new IRS procedures requiring taxpayers to give a private company a copy of their government-issued photo ID — as well as their email address, phone number, Social Security Number and a video selfie taken with a smartphone or computer — before they can gain access to basic tax services on the IRS website?
For example, if ID.me, the Virginia-based company being entrusted with taxpayers’ private information, is unable to verify users’ identity with the information, users will then have to join a video call with a “trusted referee” to “answer a few questions.”
ID.me will use the video selfies — which all users must provide — to collect biometric data, including voiceprints and facial geometry recognition. Taxpayers must sign a consent form for the company to collect this data, and the form allows ID.me to “reserve the right to change or modify this Biometric Consent.”
Many taxpayers won’t fully understand what information is being collected or how it will be used. How many people read all the consent forms they sign? Even if they do, taxpayers may have no choice but to consent if they need to access their online account, get their tax records, or update their tax information.
Americans’ ability to interact with government for basic tax services will be filtered through a secret private algorithm. All told, the new system will determine taxpayers’ access to services that were used an estimated 60 million times last year. The IRS website also states that over the next year, additional IRS applications will transition to the new system.
In other words, in the name of protecting taxpayer information, the IRS will compel even more taxpayers to give away extremely personal information to a private company. In 2017, the personal information of 147 million Americans was exposed when Equifax experienced a data breach.
Consider the difference between how state voting laws come about compared to the IRS’s new procedures.
States that enact voter ID requirements or change other election laws must do so through the standard legislative process: duly elected representatives passing laws that are subject to all the legal checks and balances.
Yet Biden’s IRS will require sensitive taxpayer data to access basic tax functions with no new laws passed and no elected officials accountable for the change. Which is more undemocratic?
The Build Back Better Act would have nearly doubled the size of the IRS, adding 87,000 new agents mostly dedicated to enforcement. The unpopularity ultimately led the Senate to balk at the House version of the bill.
In the case of the new facial recognition requirements, though, the IRS is acting outside the legislative process, flexing its own power by imposing new information-sharing requirements on taxpayers.

Facial recognition supporters in the US often argue that the surveillance technology is reserved for the greatest risks -- to help deal with violent crimes, terrorist threats and human trafficking.
And while it's still often used for petty crimes like shoplifting, stealing $12 worth of goods or selling $50 worth of drugs, its use in the US still looks tame compared with how widely deployed facial recognition has been in China.
China's facial recognition system logs nearly every single citizen in the country, with a vast network of cameras across the country. A database leak in 2019 gave a glimpse of how pervasive China's surveillance tools are -- with more than 6.8 million records from a single day, taken from cameras positioned around hotels, parks, tourism spots and mosques, logging details on people as young as 9 days old.
The Chinese government is accused of using facial recognition to commit atrocities against Uyghur Muslims, relying on the technology to carry out "the largest mass incarceration of a minority population in the world today."
"China uses facial recognition to profile Uyghur individuals, classify them on the basis of their ethnicity, and single them out for tracking, mistreatment, and detention," a bipartisan group of 17 senators said in a letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on March 11. "And these technologies are deployed in service of a dystopian vision for technology governance, that harnesses the economic benefits of the internet in the absence of political freedom and sees technology companies as instruments of state power."

The last part of CNET’s Generation China series takes a look at the dangers of facial recognition.
China's aggressive development and use of facial recognition offers a window into how a technology that can be both benign and beneficial -- think your iPhone's Face ID -- can also be twisted to enable a crackdown on actions that the average person may not even consider a crime. Chinese officials have used surveillance tools to publicly shame people wearing sleepwear in public, calling it "uncivilized behavior."
The punishing of these minor offenses is by design, surveillance experts said. The threat of public humiliation through facial recognition helps Chinese officials direct over a billion people toward what it considers acceptable behavior, from what you wear to how you cross the street.
"The idea is that the authorities are trying to put in place comprehensive surveillance and behavioral engineering on a mass scale," said Maya Wang, a senior researcher on China at the Human Rights Watch. "The authorities want to create a kind of society that would be very easy for them to manage."

Behavioral engineering
The idea that China's facial recognition would automatically put your name and photo on a billboard for jaywalking and privately text you a fine instills fear in people to behave a certain way, Wang said.
Technology has often had that ability to affect behavior, even outside of China.
Behavioral engineering is the concept of combining technology and psychology to nudge people to act a certain way, and it's something we see every day. It's evident in "dark patterns," interface designs like hidden opt-out buttons that trick people into giving up their personal data, for example.

But there's a key difference in how behavioral engineering is carried out in the US compared with China and its facial recognition.
"It's expressed in a commercial manner in the US, whereas in China it's a state effort," Wang said. "The dynamics are different, and the amount of power is different, but it has striking similarities."
In the US, behavioral engineering can be done through amassing data on people, and pushing or excluding content to them based on predicted personality traits.
Facebook's 2018 scandal with Cambridge Analytica stemmed from the fact that the now-defunct UK data analytics firm used data from millions of people to target advertising that would sway people to vote a certain way.
Russia's 2016 US election meddling efforts involved using Facebook to create divisive groups and stage events where people would show up to protest. These posts would be targeted to police groups or specifically to Spanish speakers, for example.
While that type of behavioral engineering is mostly geared for selling products and profits, China's push is more about instilling fear and control over its population -- and facial recognition plays a key part in that.
"It conditions the idea of 'this is how society works,' that you're always being watched," said Jake Laperruque, a senior counsel at the Constitution Project. "It seems like trying to reinforce to people that 'we're watching all the time, if you ever do anything to piss us off, we will see and we will find a way to embarrass you.'"

China's track record
In China, no one is safe from facial recognition, or the public shaming that comes with it.
Cameras set up at crosswalks to identify and post photos of jaywalkers are commonplace, and a report from Abacus in May 2019 showed photos of children jaywalking on a digital billboard.
The local traffic police said "children should be treated the same as adults," according to the outlet.
A Chinese park has also relied on facial recognition to prevent people from taking too much toilet paper, scanning people's faces before dispensing out the rolls.
"It's kind of an 'anything goes' system there, no matter how minor," the Constitution Project's Laperruque said. "Any sort of offense goes for this kind of tech."
And while in the US, facial recognition is going through a reckoning over its racial bias and human rights concerns, in China, the surveillance technology's providers boast its abilities to single out people of different ethnicities.
"There's no allowed space at all, both online and offline, to discuss racial bias and the persecution of minorities in China."
Maya Wang, senior researcher on China at the Human Rights Watch Last November, IPVM found that Chinese surveillance company Hikvision marketed that its cameras could automatically identify Uyghur Muslims with its facial recognition.
There's pushback on facial recognition in the US because researchers are able to bring to light their concerns about the technology's racial bias, but there isn't similar scrutiny in China, researchers said.
China's facial recognition accuracy rates aren't challenged, even when it accidentally picks up a person on a bus ad and considers them a jaywalker.
"Americans can talk about racial inequalities without fear," the Human Rights Watch's Wang said. "These systems are not discussed or pushed back in China. There's no allowed space at all, both online and offline, to discuss racial bias and the persecution of minorities in China."
Recognizing influence
China's model of facial recognition, from its oppressive surveillance of Uyghur Muslims to its every day grip over a population of 1.4 billion people, also poses a concern for the international community, US lawmakers said.
Last September, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace found that China was a major supplier of AI surveillance, providing the technology to 63 countries.The next closest provider for AI surveillance tech was Japan's NEC Corporation, which sells facial recognition to 14 countries.
In April, Reuters reported that Amazon bought cameras from Dahua, a Chinese surveillance company blacklisted by the US over allegations that it helps China detain and monitor Uyghur Muslims.
The $10 million deal was for 1,500 cameras to help monitor the spread of COVID-19, according to the report.
In the senators' letter on March 11, they raised issues about China's influence on how facial recognition should be used when it's the technology's top exporter.
Wang noted that while facial recognition is often a subsidiary for US tech giants, like Amazon's Rekognition or Microsoft, in China, there are multiple companies already dominating the industry. The country's acceptance of a surveillance state allows facial recognition providers to push forward with the technology, even for the most trivial uses.
With that level of influence, there're concerns that China's model of how to use facial recognition -- a widespread network designed for public shaming and control -- could spread to the rest of the world.
"Unfortunately, China has indicated a willingness to use standard setting bodies in perverse ways to normalize global opinions about Orwellian surveillance technology," the group of lawmakers said. "By shaping the debate about the legitimate uses of artificial intelligence and facial recognition, China can expand opportunities for countries, particularly those in the developing world, to utilize Chinese surveillance technology."

Meta: Did The Whole 'New New Thang' Bubble Just Pop?

Meta’s collapse on the back of competition, regulation, and maturity (?) might just be the moment the whole New New Thang Bubble popped.
I’m afraid it’s a very short comment this morning – meetings, meetings, meetings, but the massive overnight collapse in Meta, or Facebook as I’m still thinking it’s called, was a critical moment for markets. It feels like that moment a plook (a zit to our American chums) just popped. It’s not a “supernova” event – like Enron – but it’s a good indication of what’s going to happen as limited shelf-life Tech firms mature..
Meta lost 20% of its value at one point after Mark Zuckerberg broke the cardinal rule of Tech and told the truth: Facebook has lost ground to newer, more hip, cool rivals like Tik Tok. If you want to know where it’s headed, look up Friends Reunited. Gosh…who knew? Competition is real? Tech evolves and old firms get eaten up for lunch by new firms? Really.. WOW.. (I’ve been saying for years… my kids think FB is for Grandparents.. it is.)
The other critical moment was Zuck’s comment it’s difficult to make money “where less data is available to deliver personal ads”.
No Sh*t Sherlock. In a world where it’s being outcompeted, and regulators are establishing the primacy of personal data… Facebook is doomed. Good luck if you buy the story Meta has some special in to the Metaverse..
This morning’s quote – top line – is Zuckerberg’s own. I guess he’s not only not moved fast enough, but it’s also broken. Bureaucracies – which all mature businesses become, tend to self-repair very slowly…
What happens next will likely start to happen quickly. Facebook will suffer key staff defections. The stock price will spike up and down. The firm will miss deliverables, and while trying to fix FB, lose focus on Meta. The stock will probably stage a buy-the-dip rally, but like any main-sequence star towards the end of its life, it’s burnt all it’s hydrogen fuel of imagination, inventiveness and innovation.
It won’t go supernova, but as it collapses inwards as atoms fuse into heavier elements, first helium and down the sequence, and it will briefly become a red-giant burning brightly in the financial media-sphere for months before it contracts into its white-dwarf long drawn out slow-burnout into nothingless….
Ouch.. but not a bad metaphor if I say it myself..
What that particular moment of clarity for Facebook’s quietus spells for the rest of the Tech sector is equally critical. (Lots of criticals you will note this morning..) This market is punishing companies that miss earnings – particularly in Tech, confirming profits matter as much as increasing subscriptions and customer acquisition numbers – the key issue facing Netflix and streaming, and a host of other tech sectors.

I asked him if I could share some of what he sent to me with all of you, and he agreed. After reading this, I think that you will agree that it is quite a sobering assessment of the current state of affairs…
What this means is that you are going to be paying much more to heat your homes.
And it means that you are also going to be paying much more to fill up your vehicle at the gas station.
Needless to say, you will be paying a lot more for food too.
In fact, food prices are already starting to go bananas. Last week, Kraft Heinz announced that it will soon be raising prices on many of their most popular products by as much as 30 percent…
Of course Kraft Heinz is definitely not alone.
As our colleagues over at Zero Hedge have aptly pointed out, other major food companies will soon be jacking up prices as well…
For a long time, I have been specifically warning that food prices would go completely nuts, and now it is starting to happen right in front of our eyes.
And according to a new Gallup survey that was just released, a whopping 79 percent of all Americans expect even more inflation in the months ahead…
The “experts” at the Federal Reserve thought that they could absolutely flood our financial system with money without any severe consequences.
Similarly, our politicians in Washington thought that they could borrow and spend trillions upon trillions of dollars without wrecking our currency.
They were both wrong, and now the American people are going to be absolutely shocked by the level of economic pain that we will soon be enduring.

Italy's COVID Despotism Just Got Worse

The news from Italy has started to sound like good incipits for a dystopian fantasy novel or like a déjà vu recalling the Soviet Union. A couple of weeks ago, a new decree of the Draghi government established yet more rules restricting the lives of people who have not been injected with the latest vaccine booster and who therefore cannot show the latest version of the Green Pass. These second-class citizens, who have already been stripped of their right to move, work, and participate in a great number of social activities, are now forbidden from entering post offices to withdraw their pension, and they are to be allowed access to supermarkets only to buy “goods of primary necessity.” In other words, the Italian government decides what kind of food and what other goods (if any) these people will be able to purchase.
It is unclear how exactly the government intends to enforce this new decree: Will we see policemen putting their hands into shoppers’ bags? Will bread be considered a “primary” good while shaving foam and candies will be seized? There is no limit to the madness. And a recent note from the executive to clarify the situation only made things worse: the state now decrees that the unvaccinated can actually also buy nonprimary goods in the few shops they are allowed to enter. For the time being. In other words, Italy is now a society where your sphere of action goes only as far as the prime minister’s website explicitly and graciously allows. How did it come to this?
Among Western countries, Italy has been one of those experiencing the most systematic denial of basic civil rights over the past two years. Coalition governments led first by Giuseppe Conte and then by Mario Draghi have empowered an unelected committee of “experts” called the Comitato Tecnico Scientifico, which has in turn empowered the governments by assigning a scientific aura to every decree, every action, and every word coming from the executive. This has resulted in an endless series of lockdown measures that for long periods have erased freedom of movement, the right to work, property rights over businesses and shops, freedom to assemble, freedom to worship, and even the distinction of jurisdictional spheres between church and political authority (with state bureaucrats closing churches and then handing out petty instructions on what rites could be carried out, how liturgies should be curtailed, and how many people if any could be present at masses and funerals). In the meantime, the legislative branch has been humbled, and government by urgent decrees from the executive has become the norm. The very constitutional structure of the country has been bent, and a new concept called “stato di emergenza” (state of emergency) has been invented out of thin air, even though it is nowhere to be found in Italy’s republican constitution.
If we were not living in the age of CNN, fake news, and outrageous subsidies handed out by politicians to newspapers and the media, one could legitimately wonder where the journalists were while all this was going on? In fact, journalists in Italy are among the main culprits of the current dystopian reality, since they have given platforms to “experts” who agreed with lockdowns and other measures that expanded government control over all aspects of life, while at the same time they ferociously mocked and ostracized doctors and scientists who dared to question the logic of outdoor mask mandates and curfews for restaurants.
Anybody who dared to point out the disastrous consequences of a prolonged lockdown on mental health and on people suffering from other pathologies, or the link between the economy and public health, was accused of being a “covid denier.” This is a pattern that surely readers recognize, as they have seen it in the US and many other countries over the past two years. The fact that virtually every opinion labelled by the media as “conspiracy theory” has turned out to be true just three or four months later has done nothing to shake the arrogance of the corrupt mass media, who are entrenched in their monopoly over the news cycle, thanks to their access to state funding and political favors. And this is true in Italy as virtually everywhere else.
Giuseppe Conte’s administration was followed by another government coalition led by Prime Minister Draghi, not thanks to free elections but through a move by the president of the republic, Sergio Mattarella. In a solemn speech on February 2021, the head of state explained to the country that it was inopportune to have an election in the midst of a pandemic—even though during the same period Romania and Portugal had elections and their rate of infection was not altered. Instead, Mattarella entrusted the government to Draghi, claiming that this would be a nonpartisan, “technical government” simply charged with the tasks of obtaining funds from the EU and overseeing the vaccination campaign. Obviously, the idea of a “technical,” neutral government is absurd, since every modern state expropriates, inflates, and moves wealth from some social groups to others.
I will not get into the many lies spewed by Draghi and his ministers about the effectiveness of the vaccines, nor into the series of grotesque restrictions progressively imposed on the unvaccinated. Suffice it to say that, once again, the media was complicit, as for months it covered any failure by the Draghi administration with wild accusations against the “no-vax.”
Just like those accused of being “covid deniers” never denied the existence of covid, those who are now labelled as “no-vax” have in most cases nothing against vaccines per se. Many of them simply explain that whether to take the vaccine or not should be a decision freely made by each person, considering their age, clinical history, and other factors; and they correctly note the superiority of natural immunity over vaccinated immunity. But these are unimportant details for journalists, who at the year-end press conference put up a show worthy of a banana republic by greeting Draghi with cheers and a long applause rather than with probing questions. Interestingly, the change at the helm from Conte to Draghi has had the effect of showing the true colors of Italian liberals, who are in fact ill-disguised statists.
Even Amnesty International has expressed concern about the discrimination against unvaccinated people in Italy, while Italian liberals and leftists cheer Draghi on. The only coherent, courageous opposition to Draghi is coming from the fringes and from unlikely allies like Marxist professor Ugo Mattei and libertarian professor Carlo Lottieri (a friend of the Mises Institute). Mattei has tirelessly denounced the unconstitutional nature of the “state of emergency” as well as the cowardly blackmailing of workers forced to decide between taking the vaccine or losing their job. Lottieri has led the small movement of resistance among university professors fighting discrimination against unvaccinated students and explaining how the pandemic has been an excuse for modern states to take one step further in their control over the body and mind of each individual.
The measures to which Italian people have been subjected in these two long years of unchecked statism and shameless propaganda have not only been unjust: they have also been utterly useless in fighting the pandemic. Italy has seen exactly the same trajectories and timeframes in the different waves of the virus as those experienced by countries like Sweden or even the UK, where liberties and the economy have not been trampled—or at least have not been trampled to the same extent! The failure of streams of government decrees is not a surprise for those who, having read Ludwig von Mises and F.A. Hayek, know very well that human societies are complex and that we should be humble when devising solutions from the top. Central planning—whether for the economy or for healthcare—is destined to fail. On the other hand, central planning serves a political class and crony corporations ceaselessly attempting to micromanage our lives.

In a solemn speech on February 2021, the head of state explained to the country that it was inopportune to have an election in the midst of a pandemic—even though during the same period Romania and Portugal had elections and their rate of infection was not altered. Instead, Mattarella entrusted the government to Draghi, claiming that this would be a nonpartisan, “technical government” simply charged with the tasks of obtaining funds from the EU and overseeing the vaccination campaign. Obviously, the idea of a “technical,” neutral government is absurd, since every modern state expropriates, inflates, and moves wealth from some social groups to others.
I will not get into the many lies spewed by Draghi and his ministers about the effectiveness of the vaccines, nor into the series of grotesque restrictions progressively imposed on the unvaccinated. Suffice it to say that, once again, the media was complicit, as for months it covered any failure by the Draghi administration with wild accusations against the “no-vax.”
Just like those accused of being “covid deniers” never denied the existence of covid, those who are now labelled as “no-vax” have in most cases nothing against vaccines per se. Many of them simply explain that whether to take the vaccine or not should be a decision freely made by each person, considering their age, clinical history, and other factors; and they correctly note the superiority of natural immunity over vaccinated immunity. But these are unimportant details for journalists, who at the year-end press conference put up a show worthy of a banana republic by greeting Draghi with cheers and a long applause rather than with probing questions. Interestingly, the change at the helm from Conte to Draghi has had the effect of showing the true colors of Italian liberals, who are in fact ill-disguised statists.
Even Amnesty International has expressed concern about the discrimination against unvaccinated people in Italy, while Italian liberals and leftists cheer Draghi on. The only coherent, courageous opposition to Draghi is coming from the fringes and from unlikely allies like Marxist professor Ugo Mattei and libertarian professor Carlo Lottieri (a friend of the Mises Institute). Mattei has tirelessly denounced the unconstitutional nature of the “state of emergency” as well as the cowardly blackmailing of workers forced to decide between taking the vaccine or losing their job. Lottieri has led the small movement of resistance among university professors fighting discrimination against unvaccinated students and explaining how the pandemic has been an excuse for modern states to take one step further in their control over the body and mind of each individual.
The measures to which Italian people have been subjected in these two long years of unchecked statism and shameless propaganda have not only been unjust: they have also been utterly useless in fighting the pandemic. Italy has seen exactly the same trajectories and timeframes in the different waves of the virus as those experienced by countries like Sweden or even the UK, where liberties and the economy have not been trampled—or at least have not been trampled to the same extent! The failure of streams of government decrees is not a surprise for those who, having read Ludwig von Mises and F.A. Hayek, know very well that human societies are complex and that we should be humble when devising solutions from the top. Central planning—whether for the economy or for healthcare—is destined to fail. On the other hand, central planning serves a political class and crony corporations ceaselessly attempting to micromanage our lives.

The series of facts that plunged the World into the barbarity of the Second World War must never be forgotten, as well as the noble sacrifice of the young Allied soldiers which was painfully necessary in order to defeat all totalitarian regimes including the one in Italy.
On January 31st, 2020, a state of emergency was declared in the Republic of Italy, and because of it, we’ve had two governments (Conte’s second mandate and Draghi’s first mandate) that have unleashed a flourish of illiberal and undemocratic rules, relying on a pretext of a pandemic situation imposed by a virus supposedly originated in China.
It should be remembered that many authoritative scientific sources or other sources of important international intelligence, had revealed that the Chinese virus not only had originated in a laboratory, but it was most likely spread in order to deploy colossal socio-political, economic, and financial effects. The debate around a sentence written by the philosopher Lucius Seneca, Nero’s popular tutor, “cui prodest scelus, is fecit” (who has the great advantage from the crime is the one who committed it), explains the deep financial, political, and ideological reason underlying what has been going on throughout the world over the last two years.
The work of the two Italian governments in the last two years, in fact, has been the reference benchmark for the so-called “emergency management” in all democratic countries, and many other governments have implemented the same type of liberticide measures because of the Italian example.
In this bed of important facts, it is essential to open a historical parallel with the events that occurred exactly 100 years ago. A century ago, at the end of a stupid parade of black shirts in Rome in 1922, under the pressure of the Red Biennium and the communist danger, an apparently democratic regime was born that only after a while became what we all know as Fascism.
The above-mentioned operation was a worldwide political operation to which everybody referred to all over the world as an example to imitate. Also, these events had the official blessing of the chemical and pharmaceutical industry cartels of that time, from which almost all the know-how of current stateless pharmaceutical giants originates.
The pretext of the March on Rome and the dangers deeply connected to the Italian Red Biennium, which conceptually referred to the attack on JP Morgan attributed to Italian anarchists and the shameful story of Sacco and Vanzetti, was the basis on which David Rockefeller suggested to the Italian King to give the charge of Prime Minister to Mussolini. The political rise of the Dux is therefore due to the economic strength of a newspaper. Not to be forgotten this newspaper, which was financed by an important entrepreneur operating in the pharmaceutical and chemical sector, also became the most important point of reference of the so-called Fasci di Combattimento.
The totalitarian development of the Italian government
Mussolini thus became a reference paradigm for those who wanted to emulate the same formula, given that he saw the enormous success of his governments in the years before the Second World War. A lot of other countries reproduced the same exact idea of liberticide government, such as Hitler in Germany, Salazar in Portugal, Franco in Spain, Petain in France, Vargas in Brazil, Peron in Argentina, and so on.
It is therefore of worldwide interest what is frightfully happening in the political laboratory of Italy, where the foundations of a totalitarian regime aiming at the oppression of the free and democratic character of the Republic have been established.
A coup d’état has taken place through the treacherous exercise of an institutional media bombing that hypnotized around 80% of the Italian population. The puppeteers of this coup are the heirs of the same stateless financial forces that imposed Fascism 100 years ago and Nazism 90 years ago. Yet this time they are implementing the control of the masses neither through a recognizable party nor an identifiable charismatic leader, but through organizations that are capable of deploying physical violence.
At the basis of the coup d’état under the banner of a new and modern Fascism, is the success of a collective hypnosis achieved by ‘shouting’ fake news and speculating on thousands of corpses of citizens killed in terrorist attacks indirectly organized through the scientific sabotage of regular hospital activities.
100 years after the March on Rome, another brutal dictatorship would have never been possible in the same way, this is why this time the new Totalitarianism has been created through the violent protection of an abstract common good that receives obedience, thanks to the psychological wounds inflicted caused by the above-mentioned state of collective hypnosis.
Collective hypnosis is a scientific phenomenon pursued through a path of mass psychology expertly cadenced in three stages:
- creating a widespread state of fear and anxiety about the future, with stress caused by isolation, media terrorism, and legal confusion about what may or may not be done;
- loss of freedom and decision-making on one’s life, causing psychological failure and total reliance on the jailers, something that can be counted in the bed of the variants of the so-called Stockholm Syndrome;
- univocal, compulsive, and obsessive media narration for the unique purpose of creating the defense of an abstract common good. In this perspective what has been obtained is hate and distance towards those who did not get hypnotized and all resilient citizens who still question science, ethical principles, and other rules that have been implemented by the totalitarian regime.
After approximately 80 years, the instrument for the ideological discrimination of human beings does not have its roots on the same ethnic or scientific, or religious definitions for the benefit of the majority of the German or European People, but it still produces and worships dogmas about health care and what remains of what we once called science, sticking violent discriminatory labels onto people, such as flat-earther, conspiracy theorist or anti-vaxer. The episodes of hatred and violence that have been unleashed in Italy among citizens and even close relatives leave literally stunned anyone who has not fallen victim to this state of collective hypnosis.
The last two Italian governments are continuing a gradual and violent decline of the Democratic Order, by implementing a despotic regime under administrative decrees according to which bureaucratic abuse is practically instigated by Prefectures and Quaestors. The tangible discrimination between masked and unmasked together with other huge violations of the Nuremberg and Oviedo Treaties are now daily occurrences. The Italian Government, through financial blackmail, obliges those who are not hypnotized by the Media, to have a medical treatment based on a gene-drug in trial phase 3, whose adverse reactions are therefore unknown in the medium and long term, and that definitely interfere with the functioning of cellular DNA.
In this regard, these rules also conflict with a specific EU Regulation that prohibits financial pressure to encourage participation in medical treatments which are still at an experimental stage. Therefore the Italian Government is manifestly and openly committing crimes against humanity in violation of international laws and codes such as Nuremberg, Oviedo, and the European Union, as well as in defiance of the Constitution of the Italian Republic. The Italian Constitution itself prohibits mass health treatments of drugs that have already been tested without an ad hoc law previously approved by the Parliament.
Nevertheless, the Government is even imposing these experimental health treatments not only without a law but even without making clear to its citizens that there must be a specialist doctor who prescribes the drug under the precise assumption of responsibility for what is being administered, in accordance with the numerous laws that have been therefore neglected.

Particularly chilling is the inhuman coldness with which the Draghi Regime operates. It has already gone far beyond the abominations conceived in the latter part of the Twenties by Mussolini, ready to reach the points of barbarism delivered by Adolf Hitler to the history books.
The Draghi regime is based on an empty parliamentary platform because it is no longer the expression of the 4-year-old popular vote.
The Parliamentary Platform of the Draghi Regime has also constituted the dialectic basis to reconfirm Sergio Mattarella, a member of the Italian Democratic Party (PD), as the Italian president of the republic. It is worth remembering that the PD did not even win the elections, since the right-wing and the independent 5 Stelle party had the best numbers four years ago when the elections took place.
What is happening is therefore evidence of the fascist and mafia-like degradation of a Democratic Republic which is operated and implemented also through the forced silence of dissident citizens who have had their right to protest in any significant square throughout Italy denied since last December, as well as the possibility to express themselves on the National Media and Social Media. In Italy quaestors and government prefects operate in full harmony with the so-called fact-checkers, such as the renowned journalist Enrico Mentana, whose offices ‘beat’ dissidents into silence on Facebook and other social media.
All these barbaric events are taking place while the Italian Parliament is showing its full corruption linked to beggings and beggers as well as the Jesuit banker Mario Draghi, with his hands still bloodied because of the European Austerity Regime. The corruption though is also connected to some Jacobin intimidations by some magistrates, as well as to the work of PD leaders, who have substantially robbed the members of Parliament of the possibility to speak or act freely.
They can no longer represent the interests of the Italian People without being persecuted by judicial reprisals of an implicit political nature. The Constitution of the Italian Republic itself obviously does not make all this possible, as well as legislating by decree is not made possible, even if a national emergency (whose maximum duration is two years) is declared by the Government.
However, the Draghi government is moving forward, and after two more years and two more days, the regime accelerates with even more cynicism and malice, as if everything was literally possible, because of an armored bureaucracy which Mussolini, Hitler, and all their associates, they did not have.
Finally, what follows is a direct and personal testimony of an event that has affected me and that constitutes an international indictment that I launch to stop barbarism as soon as possible in my country.
Italy is plunging into a fascist drift, imbued with despicable Nazi content, in order to apply eugenics and the digitization of rights in favor of a political formula of government to be exported all over the world as it happened between the two World Wars with the Fascist State, under the banner of a global almond-eyed communist tyranny.
I just turned 50 and last night I went to a TIM phone shop located via Indipendenza in Bologna, the city where I live. Here I was offended and discriminated as a Jew in Germany in the days right before the Kristallnacht took place, just because of my free choice not to accept the ‘gift’ of an experimental gene serum, a condition that would oblige me to get a vaccine passport.
More in details I was mortified, mocked, and assaulted by a vile act of discrimination brought to me not by a boy half my age, evidently hypnotized and financially blackmailed by TIM’s corporate needs, but by the objectionable consequences of a Decree of the Draghi Government applied by the State Police. When I was kicked out of the store, following my complaints, the young man called the Police. Two police cars and four policemen showed up in order to identify me and to fine me since I was resisting the mandatory vaccine and the long list of meaningless government requests.
The policemen, who recognized me in the meantime, also fined me because I was not wearing the mask appropriately while outdoor. But what still looks unbelievably worrying to me is that they did not tell me who the man in the store was, the same man who insulted me, mortified me and kicked me out of the shop, when I asked of his name because I wanted to have the chance to discuss what happened before a judge.
A curious detail that is worth pointing out is that the whole thing occurred at a Tim shop, a phone company that was chosen by the Chinese Communist Party for their secret service’s agenda until Mike Pompeo intervened in extremis in 2020.( No a Huawei, l’Italia segua il modello Tim. This short story of mine is just a testimony that warns about what is happening in Italy, being hopeful that an international intervention may bring down a government that promotes crimes against humanity in the exclusive interest of a Pharmaceutical Cartel, and that is therefore no longer a reliable ally as it used to be after World War II and the Nuremberg Process. It is worth remembering that only after Mike Pompeo came to Italy, Tim was denied the possibility to build together with Huawei and ZTE strategic infrastructure which would share the private data of 60 million Italians to the Chinese Communist Party.
I strongly hope that an international intervention will prevent the Italian Government from implementing a model of totalitarianism that can be exported to other democracies, as it happened 100 years ago with the same tragic consequences that we all know about.
Those white crosses on the meadows of cemeteries in Italy where thousands and thousands of young Allied soldiers are buried after defeating the Nazi-Fascism first, and the Communism of Leninist centralism later, I believe they are all joining the cry of pain that millions of Italians are trying to launch from Italy. Help!

His comment was in response to a New York Post report on empty shelves at a Rite Aid store in New York City that will be closing soon due to shoplifters.
America was once a great country but the left’s acceptance of crime, destruction of our cities, and attacks on the police have resulted in the most homicides in several US cities in 2021.
Democrat officials continue to allow looters to run wild and crime to skyrocket in New York and elsewhere.
After the criminals are caught and arrested, charges were reduced to a misdemeanor, and the thieves were back on the streets in less than 24 hours to steal again!
And thanks to Democrats and Joe Biden’s devastating policies, the US inflation measurement has reached its highest level in decades, since the early 1980’s.

AI 'Nanny' Being Created By Chinese Scientists To Grow Babies In Robot Wombs

The artificial intelligence nanny has arrived. Robots and artificial intelligence (AI) may now be used in conjunction to optimize the generation of human life, marking a significant milestone in the science.
Robotics and artificial intelligence can now assist in the development of newborns via the use of algorithms and artificial wombs, which is eerily similar to what we see in the cult classic, The Matrix.
According to the South China Morning Post, Chinese experts in Suzhou have pioneered the development of the latest technological breakthrough. However, there are concerns about the ethical implications of raising human beings in an artificial environment.
The discoveries were published in the peer-reviewed Journal of Biomedical Engineering by Suzhou-based scientists. The AI nanny, according to the researchers, might aid in the growth of human kids in a “long-term embryo culture device.”
This artificial womb is a big machine containing compartments for individual fetuses. The infants will be fed as they would be in a real womb if they are in the chamber, which will be filled with an optimized mix of “nutritious fluids.”

In what seems sort of eugenics-y, a record of embryo health and “developmental potential” will be kept on file by the software over the duration of the embryo’s development.
It probably won’t happen any time soon..
At the moment, the new technology is being utilized to assist in the development of animal embryos that are developing into fetuses in the laboratory. This is due to the fact that the act of experimenting on human embryos older than two weeks is prohibited under international law.
Additionally, as the SMCP points out, surrogacy is prohibited in China. Because artificial wombs would effectively convert a hospital or laboratory into a mother under Chinese legislation, the technology is unlikely to be deployed in the area anytime soon.
Having said that, the development of artificial wombs is not a new concept. While this is not a new discovery, bringing the technology into human mass production and mixing it with ranking AI is, and it is a development that is quite dystopian sounding.
Of course, not everything is a hopeless dystopia..
Although the thought of artificially developing human infants is a far-fetched one, there are certain advantages to it. In the past, for example, the process of producing kids within people has been a lengthy, drawn-out, and unpleasant process, and this could potentially aid mothers who would like to have children, but are currently unable to, without having to use a human surrogate. After all, the population is about to start shrinking by the billions by the end of the century and fertility rates around the globe are collapsing at a frightening rate.
This seems like more of a “when” rather than an “if”..
When artificial human growth becomes available, it will enable couples who would otherwise be at danger during delivery to have children. Adoption is also an option for thousands of children currently in foster care who may be placed in permanent families.
