The Houthi Terrorist Group in Yemen has announced tonight during a Statement that due to the “Success” of their recent Campaign to Destroy and Disrupt the Transit of Israeli Commercial Ships in the Red Sea, they will now begin Targeting any Ship in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden which appears to be Enroute or Departing an Israeli Port despite if the Country of Origin and/or the Flag of the Ship is not Israeli.

US In Talks With Gulf Allies on Military Action Against Iran-Backed Houthis

Sam Dagher, Mohammed Hatem, Courtney McBride

The US has been consulting with Gulf allies about potential military action against Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels in response to their increasingly brazen attacks on ships in the Red Sea, according to several people with knowledge of the discussions.

The talks are at a preliminary stage and both the US and partners still favor diplomacy over direct confrontation, said the people, who asked not to be identified due to the sensitivity of the matter. That said, the fact the discussions are taking place at all underscores how seriously the US takes the threat, the people added.

Yemen Houthi rebels threaten all Israel-bound Red Sea ships - War on Gaza - War on Gaza

The latest warning comes amid heightened tensions in the Red Sea and surrounding waters following a series of maritime attacks by Houthi rebels since the start of Israel's war on the Gaza Strip.
In a statement posted on social media, the Houthis said they "will prevent the passage of ships heading to the Zionist entity" if humanitarian aid is not allowed into Gaza.

The Houthis have recently attacked ships they claim to have direct links to Israel, but their latest threat expands the scope of their targets.
Regardless of which flag ships sail under or the nationality of their owners or operators, Israel-bound vessels "will become a legitimate target for our armed forces", the statement said.
Last week, the Houthis attacked two ships off the Yemeni coast, including a Bahamas-flagged vessel, claiming they were Israeli-owned.

And last month, the rebel forces seized Galaxy Leader, an Israeli-linked cargo vessel.
"We warn all ships and companies against dealing with Israeli ports," the latest Houthi statement said.
It added that all "ships linked to Israel or that will transport goods to Israeli ports" are not welcome in the Red Sea, a vital channel for global trade linked to the Suez Canal.

Beyond maritime attacks, the Houthis have launched a series of drone and missile strikes targeting Israel since the Israeli invasion of Gaza began on 7 October.
The Palestinian health ministry in Gaza says Israel has killed at least 17,700 people, mostly women and children, and injured tens of thousands more.

The spike in maritime incidents prompted G7 foreign ministers at a meeting earlier this month to urge the rebels to cease threats to international shipping and to release the Galaxy Leader.

Well, Kurilla has come to that point which EVERY Flag Officer hopes he NEVER has to handle.

His choices are pretty stark.
Either grab a plane and come to DC and chuck his stars on (F)JB's desk, or, be an AMERICAN and PULL A TRIGGER!! SOONEST!!

*I* know what MY action would be, and I ALSO understand that there would be a semi-senior person to relieve me of command. EQUALLY soonest.

I quite agree with previous sentiments. PULL THE DAMN TRIGGER. The Barbary Pirates come to mind. The solution is military force. They understand that. Our military industrial complex really wants to drop bombs and have a war. This seems to be a good rationale. They are shooting at our Navy after all. Erase the Houthis. Erase a good deal of Yemen in the process.

But, Ukraine!!!! Must send our uncles, cousins and sons and munitions and advisors and Navy and Air Force and Army Airborne Divisions and missile defense systems and our Billions of dollars to fight Russia. Can’t be distracted.

We really need to get some adults in the room PDQ to discuss this before it becomes a mission to recover a destroyed aircraft carrier or DDG.

A French frigate shot down two drones in the Red Sea that were heading toward it from the coast of #Yemen, the French military said on Sunday.

"The interception and destruction of these two identified threats" were carried out overnight from Saturday to Sunday by the frigate Languedoc, which operates in the Red Sea, the general staff said in a press release.

US Tells Israel Not To Strike The Houthis In Yemen

The Biden administration has asked Israel not to respond to recent attacks by Yemen’s Houthis, The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday.

The Houthis, formally known as Ansar Allah, have fired missiles and drones at Israel in response to the Israeli onslaught in Gaza and have targeted Israeli-linked commercial ships in the Red Sea. US warships have responded to the Houthi attacks and have downed several Houthi missiles and drones in recent weeks.

According to the Journal, the US is concerned an Israeli response could spark a major regional war. US officials told Israel that the US would handle any potential response, although POLITICO reported that the administration is not planning on directly targeting the Houthis, at least for now.

The POLITICO report said the Pentagon has drawn up plans to strike the Houthis, but they have not been presented or recommended to President Biden. The report said there is a “high-level consensus within the administration that it does not make sense for the US military to respond directly to the Houthis.”

Saudi Arabia has also urged the US not to strike the Houthis over concerns that such an attack could jeopardize the Saudi-Houthi peace process. A ceasefire between the Saudis and the Houthis has held relatively well since April 2022, but a lasting peace deal has not yet been signed.

The US announced sanctions targeting the Houthis on Thursday that target 13 people and firms allegedly involved in the sale and shipment of Iranian commodities. The Treasury Department claims the network has transferred tens of millions of dollars worth of foreign currency to the Houthis.

The US has backed a Saudi-led coalition against the Houthis since 2015 in a brutal war that has killed at least 377,000 people. But it’s rare that the US and the Houthis directly exchange fire.

Don't get cocky. If the Houthis launch a wave of drones, the outcome is not necessarily going to be all jolly.
Rheeeeeeeeee

It wont be jolly, and if they launch a wave of drones what do you think the end result will be....Houthis's increase in activity and the advancements in their TTP leads back to the same country supplying hezbolla and hamas.

So Washington is worried about sparking a regional war. What the hell do they think they are in? There is no rational for their response unless the 5th column in CONUSA needs to get better organized. We were in diplomacy when Japan hit Pearl. That seems to be their goal.

Interestingly, the Japanese of all people, are apparently mulling over a range of independent military actions against the Houthis (I'm sure any plan will get bounced off the U.S.). It doesn't sound like the Japanese appreciated having the Galaxy Leader get hijacked even a little bit.

The prospect of watching the JDF "Get their Samurai on" in Yemen, is an episode I'd almost pay to watch.

We WILL get a chance, given how the JDF is rapidly transiting to the Japanese Military.

This WILL be fun to watch as long as some of the Houthi crap doesn't land CONUS.

Have the actions of the houthis caused a death or injuries to us service personnel Or a risk of same? Yes. Then it damn well does make sense for the US military to take direct action against them.
If Chicken Joe says no to direct action then the answer is unequivocally yes.

Talk and sanction, talk and sanction. That's all we're going to see from the Biden administration. They'll more than likely still be talking and sanctioning when the Israeli war ends. Iran has Biden in their back pocket.

Yeah... Talks in the "preliminary stage"?
This has been going on for several weeks.
And they are just talking.
Let Israel take care of business. And let's sit back and let the ME talk. Let them straighten out their own mess. F'em...

I hope Israel decides not to listen to Biden and goes ahead and "does their thing". They'll get the job done right.

Let me introduce you to my headache...

I manage a specific aspect of a large scale aviation test program (please forgive me for being vague, but the details are Proprietary at a minimum). To say that I ROUTINELY struggle with industry shortfalls of Facilities, Engineering, Manufacturing, Tooling, Transportation, Labor, and Components, would be "Polite" at best.

From my knothole, I don't see how the USA could ever stand-up "Wartime Production" in any of those categories, as we're already flirting with systemic collapse for most of them.

There isn't a magic reservoir of educated/skilled people out there just waiting to be tapped in an emergency. Heck, daily ops across the industry are pretty much at emergency levels already. Everybody I deal with is chronically understaffed, and, the people they DO have are either on the verge of retirement or neophyte rookies.

"Wartime Production" will look like the surface of the Moon.
