The Cicada's are coming soon... those should make for some good pics....and they won't be protected, eat up.
I have to laugh. When I was a little girl, I loved those dried shells they left behind and every spring and summer I'd gather them first thing in the morning to make my specialty, Dry Bug Pie. It was just a mud pie garnished with those bug shells but all the old folks would ooh and and aah over them so I was encouraged. I should have known then I'd spend my life in the kitchen or so it seems.

Pride comes before the fall.....Pride month ended.
Me too. Deep in the woods into it. No recipes or desires for that matter. I'm thinking on bread some way would be the route to go......maybe crackers, with hot sauce, or a lasagna......forgive me, yuck on all,

Maybe I could get on the cover of National Geographic, going native.

Holy shit! That reminds me of the time 6 of us trespassed up an oil well road in Brea, CA. Back before the development. Anyway we were getting ready to have our beer party, spreading the blankets and everything when dozens of huge tarantulas came from the gully and started crossing the road all around us. Needless to say that party didn't happen. Oh and that's when I found out they hopped too.
We were up in the mountains in Cali, camping. Rest had gone to be and as usual I was at the picnic table reading by lantern light. Along came one of those. I jarred it to show everyone in the morning. Freaked out some in the party; surprised me when it came crawling along  .

As this unsuspecting family enjoyed their freshly cooked barbecue while camping on secluded Christmas Island, off Western Australia's far north-west, the Robber Crabs (AKA Coconut Crabs) gathered around them searching for food. Despite their frightening appearance, the crabs are completely harmless, but (as their name indicates), they often steal food from campsites.
