DOOM LOOMS

Can you feel it?

It's so thick you can almost cut it with a knife.

It's so much bigger than Bush/Kerry.

It's a quickening.

I wonder if Al-Queerda's first congratulatory mass-murder will be synched with Chimpy's victory rant, er, speech?

Does that imply that Doom wouldn't be looming if Kerry were elected?

It's more of a universal thing.

AO

That can be a healthy thing if you listen to it.

When will you people EVER learn - for crying out loud - we were gonna be in the same "Danger" no matter who was in office.

Terrorists/Radical Islam has one manta - Convert or Die. Period. So do you really think that because/if Kerry got elected we suddenly would have been safe, because the terrorists will all of a sudden have a "warm and fuzzy" for the U.S. ??? Do you ???

We were/are in the same amount of danger - the only difference is that GWB is willing to take the fight to them instead of prostrating the country on the altar of the UN for our security.

(unless of course you believe in the whole NWO conspiracy thing. then we'd be screwed even worse.)

Yap do so agree! But how many refuse to see what is coming .... so sad!

It really did not matter who was elected but it is coming. The thought
that occurs to me on our coming destruction, did we have a choice in
avoiding it or was it our destiny. So sad is on the coming generations
that is IF IF IF there is any after the coming Thermonuclear WWIII.

Easy there Mr. 26 posts, I've been around this block a few more times than you have.

Re-read these posts, it's clearly stated this isn't a Bush/Kerry thing.

You can't even *see* what this thread is about, maybe you should stay off it...

Well, if doom is looming, maybe you should be happy you have someone in office who will not run and hide from it. Someone who will not back down. Does Bush scare me? Yes, but Kerry scared me a whole lot more. I think he scared a whole lot of people a whole lot more.

You know, bitterness is an ugly, ugly thing.

I voted for Bush - hated to do it. But, if you're a democrat, you guys need to take responsibility for putting Kerry up for the candidacy.

If the Democrats had run a viable candidate in this election, I would have voted for him / her.

Your whining does not reflect well on you or the Democratic party. Get over it and get to work to find a better candidate for '08 (hint: IT ISN'T HILLARY!)

Tom, I'm actually a Republican, thank you - but stupid is as stupid does, therefore I voted for the lesser of two evils,

Trasael - I said: "the DOPE (as in illicit drugs)" not: "the DOPES (as in opinionated vidiots like me)", so get it right!

I'm better under a Republican admin that remembers that a country is more than the sum of it's wars.

I have to agree that it doesn't matter which one won in the terrorists eyes. Now it is our job to stand behind our commander & chief to do whatever necessary to keep our nation safe. Osama was right about one thing "Our security is in our hands". We did make a good start by getting out in historically record breaking numbers to excersise our right to vote that so many are out there defending with their lives as we sit here. God Bless them! IF (and ONLY if) JK manages to make the speech of his life, showing an uncharacteristic Statesmanship, and acts to heal the Nation, we MIGHT be able to ratchet down a LOT of the INTERNAL doom that many of us are feeling coming.

AS you say, it is MUCH LARGER than the Prez Candidate.

SOONER or later folks will realize that the War we are in has only a peripheral relationship to the shooting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, in that they are battles which are there to prevent the spread of the Caliphate. this is a VERY apropriate goal for the Nation....

Swampthing, I don't feel doom looming at all. Not today, at least. Tomorrow may be a different story. I'll wait and see what happens. Today I just feel great relief that Kerry lost the election -- I really don't want to be living under the UN flag any sooner than I can possibly help. We may have all kinds of disasters coming, but right now I'm not thinking about them, I'm taking a day off! :D

swampthing....

the situation with Iran is beyond horrible.

If Israel( with our help) does take out their new nuke reactor, mideast reaction will probably be hell on earth. Iran's retaliation, plus so many Syrian rockets in place that I doubt a premptive strike can alleviate the horror of them. Jihaders in the USA taking revenge however they can.

If Israel does not remove that reactor, then we are looking at a nuclear nation under Islamic extremeist control. Don't even get me started on the Russian influence.

Ben Stein has been saying repeatedly that W Bush is the best friend Israel ever had. I only hope our mideast presence helps somehow. But still, it would mean oil prices through the roof, econ collapse globally probably......and then Hitlery in 08.

I hope this Bush win gives us more time to prep......but yes, I can feel it too.

Lynnie, and add China also ... put it all together with the prize being control
of the Mideast Oil Fields and then you have a perfect recipe for WWIII!

Saved, to glorify God.
Unfortunately, you who "don't want to be living under the UN flag" don't seem to understand that THE MAN YOU CHOSE FOR PRESIDENT has been provoking the entire world to consider uniting AGAINST US (and that will probably BE under the auspices of the UN !!

IF BUSH ORDERS THE INVASION OF MANY MORE SOVERIGN NATIONS THAT HAVE NOT PATENTLY, OBVIOUSLY OUTRIGHT ATTACKED US, WE MAY FIND THE CHINESE AND RUSSIANS AND GERMANS AND FRENCH AS WELL AS ALL OF SOUTH AMERICA BINDING TOGETHER TO ERADICATE THE THREAT THEY FEEL WE POSE TO WORLD PEACE, SAFETY AND ORDER!!!!!

Ainitfunny, this is what exactly what has come to my
mind as well. And if they did attack us, it would be
exactly like how the world binded together to get rid
of Hitler. Yes that is exactly all that it would take for
us to attack another soverign country and the whole
world unites together to get rid of the next Hitler (Bush).

That reminds me of all those prophecies and visions
of the U.S. being avaded and attacked. Could this
be the reason WHY we would be attacked and
invaded? I wonder sometimes espicelly in light of all
the recent world's events.

Dooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom!!!!!!!!!!!

Doom has loomed for years now. Trigger dates, predictions, prophecies, bad feelings by the bushel for years. So maybe yes, doom...maybe no, doom.

But doom is an article of faith around here.

Wake me when something happens.

Were you sleeping on 9/11?

Is "sleeping" a good survival strategy?

If someone sees the storm coming you fault them for battening down the hatches. For getting the animals in the barn, for warning others to do the same?

Now is the time to finish getting ready so you can rest (assured) during the storm.

Can't you feel the wind picking up?

You know there is a difference between doom and what you said/mocked " we're all doomed" which was never the intention of this thread.

Swampthing,

I agree there is a type of quickening occuring. However, at present, I attribute it to a combination of peak oil, debt, globalism, climate change (for whatever reason), and technology such as the veri-chip and street cameras.

It sounds like you are referring to the end of days, and I can't/won't disagree. However, I would love to know if there is a specific area in which you see concern or it's just a combination of things. My view is the latter. This could be the end game, regardless. We have built a house of cards so high that it is wiggling, and any card will topple us.

My concern is a trigger event that will set off a combination of things,

From another post of mine...

Just taking into account-- SS the heart of babyboomers begin hitting it in 08, Medicare the reform that was passed in the 90's is upside down, Government pensions being tapped, Housing bubble, interest rates, economic non-recovery, natural/gas prices, heating oil, peak oil, immagration, homeland security/patriot act, trade with China, Chian in Sudan/Iran Nouth Korea, Russia, Putin,Russia postureing to fight terroist anywhere(Washington?), Russia in Iran/Irag, France Germany, the war in Iraq, Iranian parliment defiant of IAEA and shouts of "Death To America", North Korea, Al-Qieda, Bin Laden, Al-zarquri, Demise of the $$, Inflation/Deflation, Lay Offs, Corporate welfare, that sunburn missle Iran has, Natural disastors,Un-Natural disastors, etc...

The trigger event could happen anyday now.

OK,let's cut to the chase.
I have a question. How are we, regardless of who is in the WH, going to stop terrorism tomorrow morning with the borders open, freight terminals unchecked and our disjointed FBI, CIA?
I don't really see us stopping someone from walking across the border with an Ebola virus.
So tell me, how safe we are?

I personally think it is just the time of the year that makes it feel so gloomy, Day light savings time just kicked in, night comes sooner, the days are shorter...... the sun is lower in the sky....

And as pointed out on a thread in the Terrorist Chatter Forum... up and coming is 11-9 (or as written in Europe 911) and it is a Tuesday... Bump in the night....

oh well.... as we discussed the other day, the single largest cause of death... Is birth.

First, it's not a gloom statement.

Secondly it is a very possible scenario that this government has had three years to resolve.

MARANTHA!! Even so, come LORD JESUS!!!
Yes.....

I feel it too, but then I have for 20+ years.....
I think that you are wrong about Bush, I think he is the only thing standing in the way of our complete disentigration......I know, I know, he's into this whole NWO thing, or at least some of his actions point that way. It's confusing.....some of what he does is "on the money", but other things make you wonder. I understand where you are coming from with the dictator thing, I just don't agree with you...JMHO. I think Bush will stand strong for Gun Rights, and keeping us out of UN control....but I think it's all just a matter of time......no matter whose in the jockey's saddle. For my tastes, Kerry was NOT the man, but you are right about
Put it all together and you have the book of Revelations, Daniel, Ezekiel, and Isaiah.
But then, I have expected that for years....it's just coming closer. In addition, note that America does not appear to be present in the final days of Earth (according to Revalations).....OK, some of you think it's all hogwash, but did you know that 300 of the prophecies from the Old Testament have been fullfilled? And three major relgions Christainity, Moslums, and the Jews, as well as the Native American Indians, are looking for a "messiah" to come in the immediate future? Uh oh, I'm drifting here....sorry 'bout that!
Anyway, I agree, I feel it.....

Rob,

For me the "Doom and Gloom" feeling is real, it is tempered in my own life by my good wife, family, and stash. But I feel it, have felt it since before Y2K. I know we are possibly facing a second "Dark Ages" But I, personally, am working on solutuions that may mitigate the depth of the darkness. It is sort of like Asmov's Foundation trilogy, but in technology.

I guess, I prefer to light a candle, rather than curse the darkness. (old saying from my youth)

for now, just know, that I too feel the darkness at the door, and I for one will try to bring light back.
