As I speculated before, I really feel strongly there is "something" going on with this trip and what it is, it isn't just Nancy being a hubristic old bat (though that shoe fits as well). If the Biden Administration (including his handlers) really didn't want her going, she would be there in an airforce jet.
I still have absolutely no clue what the underlying agenda here is, and why it is important enough to tweak the Dragon's Tail; but someone, somewhere, thinks this is a good idea.
It is possible that China is being intentionally provoked into doing something, it is also possible that something totally hidden is going on.

F*ck China. If they keep pushing the bloom will be torn off their rose. Earlier this week there were issues with their stock market; if they were to try for war they would have to make it QUICK. Because they will run out of equipment, will and fuel very quickly. China is a paper tiger and if we had a decent govt. of our own; we would be a box of lit matches to them.
Winnie the Xi isn't Mao, his "cult of personality" is entirely manufactured. He's the first one the Chinese would string up from a lamp post when they fail. And they WILL fail.
The Russians won't support or ally with China in a possible US China war. The Russians are scared to death of the Chinese hordes and still smart from China telling Russia their communism isn't a "true" communism. That was in 1960 during the Soviet Sino split...... (Neither is China's current communism, but it's an arguing point). No matter how much Lavrov lovie dovies up to the Chinese there's still traditional emnity and distrust swimming in that pool of political BS.

They must have caught the Chinese on a good day-the J-20 has had 4 seperate engine designs stuffed into it during development, and a 5th one soon to be tested. And it's not nearly as "low observable" as it's touted to be. Open those under fuselage bay doors and you have a fighter with the RCS of a barn-moving at near sonic speeds. Pretty easy catch, I'd say.
The original (and likely most reliable engine) used in this 5th generation charade was a Russian Lyulka-Saturn AL31. Same engine as used in the SU-27 (and how old is that plane? Oh, the Chinese have tried (and failed) to make a decent replacement of that engine. Can't get the hot sections right.

You are absolutely correct, Melodi. The jet she showed up in Taipei with is a 737-short ranged jet, not the usual C-32/Boeing 757 she jets back and forth across the country with. That 737 is part of 89th MAG (VIP flight based at Andrews AFB just up the river from us). That plane hasn't got intercontinental range-meaning it was ferried one leg at a time to wherever she picked it up (probably Singapore).
That plane is also outfitted with many types of equipment similar to AF1 and AF2 (the C32). It's not a 737 that Southwest airlines would use (and abuse) for sure.
Only thing I can think of is economic warfare. China has had some big problems in the housing sector of their stock market this week. Tossing in some diplomatic mayhem might be part of the agenda; destabilize the Chinese government in as many areas as possible.

I fear economic war is about to break out. Think NOTHING going from Red China to the West, plus think quarantine of Taiwan, nothing in or out of there. THAT could bring US economy to its knees (especially since we are halfway there already, while managed by an incompetent .gov. They could all but shut down Walmart, not to mention most pharmaceuticals and electronics.

I think that is the most likely scenario. I'll add that I see this as all deliberate and part of the Great Reset. All of the players are in on it. We are witnessing Kabuki theater on a global scale, the aim of which is to destroy the Western economies. It will result in consequences that nobody--including the globalists--can predict.

IMHO there is a power struggle building within the cliques running the administration and their allied or represented power blocks within the Congress. At this point, I don't think Biden himself can keep focused for at best more than a couple of hours a day, based on his performances on national TV and that's with his handlers just about literally holding him up so he's just a figure head to which ever cliques have allied with one another at the moment at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

I wonder if to save face, China will attack Taiwan, thinking that shooting down Pelosi is too dangerous, and could bring the full force of the US Military to bear. But, we may not decide to go to war with China over Taiwan. So attacking Taiwan would be enough to save face without provoking a full out WWIII.

It would be an interesting race to the bottom, China vs USA, if China were to abruptly shut off exports to US, seeking to collapse US economy; no meds, no electronics, etc. It would hurt China but would potentially hurt US more and faster.
