VIDEO Boots on the ground thread - Southern Prepper 1

Anybody including him that think they will survive a worst case scenario without an army is dreaming. All the years of game playing worst case scenarios as a serious prepper led me to that conclusion and I stand by it.

Really have to take this latest video in the context of what he has been saying now for many years. He is a brother in the Lord for sure. He has been prepping his whole life. The past ten years he has been actively warning and informing people online.

He is usually very positive and encouraging, but the recent challenge of birthing a calf, combined with some recent soul-searching has led him into the dark realization that he shares on this latest video. A whole lot of people are going to die. No way to sugarcoat it. Even we preppers are in for a world of hurt.

I thought it was very poignant and honest, especially his realization that he may not be able to share as much with his needy neighbors as he would like because his immediate family will need it.

Picture yourself watching your neighbor’s kindergarten kid dying of starvation…. That’s where Dave/Southern Prepper 1 was mentally when he filmed this one.

The very uncomfortable reality is that alot of us could be faced with the reality:

hide what we have to have a better chance of our own family surviving while watching others die,

or share what we have with others and watch our own family starve to death sooner.

There is no good answer to that dilemma.

But Dave is in a real bad situation.

He has been so open about his prepping. You and I might be able to fly under the radar - at least for a time - but he is right there, front and center.

I think he has known his increased vulnerability for quite a while, but only with the developments of the last few weeks has he really come to grips with the fact that he has a huge target drawn on his back, and not only might his preps not save them, but they might actually be putting his family in greater danger.

Honestly, while you could see he was driven by real fear tonight, I also think there was a covert message hidden in that video: don’t come here folks, because I WILL take care of my family first!

Will that keep hungry hoards from heading out to his farm?

Probably not. And he knows it.

Which is why you see the genuine, deep seated fear in his message tonight.

Just my opinion, of course.
There is no good answer to that dilemma.
There is no bad answer to that dilemma.

The answer will defy classification as either good or bad.
It will be the only answer to that dilemma - your available choices will allow for no judging good or bad.

So, you will need a group, tribe if you will. Said group will need supplies to sustain said group. So how do you find and gather this group?
When SHTF is when you may finally make the effort and I think if you manage to get up a group for self protection you will be short of supplies. Because not everyone will have the same amount of food preps.

Now your group must send out scavengers, traders if things are halfway decent out there. Your group may have to fight other groups.
I don't want to have to go through all that.......

Doesn't the Bible tell of many who die.......? Doom is going to show up

I'd say we need to be concerned with the hordes that get free food, when that dries up......
If the future famine in the Bible is symbolic, not literal, it is likely a famine of the spreading of, and believing in, the Gospel. One's major concern then, should be about avoiding the second death, not the first.

In the flesh, you just do your best.

Sometimes I am deeply concerned about the potential of "if". Especially when an eternity of fire and poking may lie on the other side of "if."

I use "if" in the sense that there may be a duality of both a literal and figurative famine. Some propose that idea, and I cannot reject it, outright. Many areas of the Bible I look at as both literal and symbolic, usually the symbolic given more attention.

I am soooooo glad some of you are discussing this. I’ve followed Dave for quite a while and this video floored me. I love this guy to pieces. He’s not a “shock jock” doomsday Prepper. He’s pretty darn calm and collected compared to ooooh sooo many other shock jocks.

This video really concerned me. My very first thought was something triggered pretty intense depression. His desire has been to be prepared so that he can help others and he encourages others to do the same. I mean… this guy will actually take private phone calls from listeners and give them advice from what I understand. But to suddenly go from feeling pretty darn up to date in his preps to “I don’t even think my family will survive this” is a big shift in his thoughts. I also wonder what spooked him. There’s more to this than that calf or he’s going through a depressive episode. My prayers are with him. He’s genuinely a great guy.

Sounds like you think you have an answer how not to....
No, I was just giving you your own simplest answer of not wanting to go through all of that.

If one has to go through it all for what one wants, then they should want to go through it all.

There are no shortcuts in life.

Maybe I missed the question. I can’t see where he was asking a question. He made a statement. “I don’t want to have to go through that.” Plain and simple.

I will say this…. Dave is a deep thinker and I love his posts when he’s walking down his road and he’s just contemplating everything and it’s almost like he’s making connections in his mind by doing so. I learn a lot from him when he posts those videos. This last video feels like a reality check video. And it’s depressing.

You make a great point. Something rang Dave’s intuitive bell. I noticed the Chinese balloon episode seemed to shake him out of his complacency (Can we say complacency? Not sure he has ever been that) but he felt an intuitive nudge to consider things at a deeper level. That’s for sure.

Then the calf being born male rather than female set back his meat on the hoof plan, and the birth was apparently quite difficult as well.

He is a good man, as you’ve said, “a great guy.” Totally agree. He will bounce back, but we all must consider the stark psychological and spiritual task ahead of us. Walk in the Spirit, as you know. Keep looking up!

He left it open ended at the end with ".......", so I though he was asking for a response to either a statement or a question.
Nope
Just a writing style meaning more for the reader to give a reflection of his/her own thoughts.....no response wanted nor question asked
