Its been going up in price for the last several years.Anyone notice the price of vanilla extract? Crazy!
I just went to the 99cent Store. They were packed. Only thing a little thin was the canned meats and one empty snack display (not sure what Bimbo is but thinking snacks by the looks of it). Plenty of rice, beans, ramen type soups, pasta, and Gatorade. I wasn't there for food but always peruse these aisles to check them out. No pictures but they had a lot of fresh veggies and a wide variety of peppers which is the real reason I was there plus something for my new office (home office). Dried peppers and spices were plentiful so bought some extras. The other aisles appeared well stocked too.

Bimbo = Mexican equivalent of Little Debbie
Some of them are pretty good
Actually, Bimbo is the largest bakery company in the United States. They make a LOT of breads, and not sweets.Bimbo = Mexican equivalent of Little Debbie

I think Bimbo bought out the American company.Actually, Bimbo is the largest bakery company in the United States. They make a LOT of breads, and not sweets.
ETA: well I guess they do have a Mexican snack line. hmm
Keep an eye on them. I've seen that happen with the funeral potatoes (and plenty of other items) and many times they will come back down in a matter of days. Not sure if that'll happen now given the circumstances, but always a good idea to check.I've been ordering funeral potatoes..packages of a shredded potato/seasoning mix.
Got some two days ago off Amazon for $4.51 per pkg.
Decided to get a few more today and the price has gone up to $10.05 per pkg.
They are made by Augason Farms.
Same here. Those were big treats at our house, growing up, and grandma had stacks of them for us, all kinds at her house! I LOVED the creme pies and star crunch things! Can't tell you how many Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme pies I've eaten over the years. So good. Quit sugar about 5 years ago, so that was the end of that, but lots of good memories.
I just looked Bimbo up; they bake and distribute SEVERAL companies such as ; Thomas English muffins, Entenmenns (sp?) baked goods; plus a lot of other big names in baked goods.I think Bimbo bought out the American company.
I can’t live without beef and meat, since I eat 80-90% carnivore. Thankfully, we bought a quarter cow from a local farmer that I just picked up yesterday. With processing, it came out to $5.80 a pound. As I was putting away all the steaks and roasts in the freezer, I saw a package of tenderloin. I’d wondered what the going rate is. I’m so grateful that we were able to do this. Beef eaters, consider this option if you’re wanting beef at a great price.Store today. Ribeye $21/lb Tenderloin $38/lb.

Not at all. It cost me $550.I wish!
Our extra freezer is already full and even so, i doubt I could swing that right now $$$....
Do you mind sharing what 1/4 beef cost you?
That’s not too bad.Not at all. It cost me $550.
Great idea. We'd do this, but both our freezers are jam-packed. This is a great hedge against inflation. Not at all. It cost me $550.

Yup...I can "live" without meat. I just choose not to if given an alternative.I understand how you feel about the meat. I do Keto, so there's a meat item with almost every meal. However, my wife and I discussed this the other night, and there may come a point when eating that much meat may not be sustainable, in terms of price and availability, and we're looking into alternate ways to get the fat and protein our bodies need.
I agree with you completely. I can revert to eating carbs again, but that won't include sugar and processed foods.Yup...I can "live" without meat. I just choose not to if given an alternative.
A lot of folks are eating low-carb, but it isn't gonna kill us to revert to regular fare.
That’s a great sale price! If anyone has a Meijer near them, Wrights Bacon 1.5 lb is on sale for $7.99 this week. At least in Michigan.

The Funeral Potatoes are great! I add some spam to them and eat them for 3 days! (I live alone, lol)I've been ordering funeral potatoes..packages of a shredded potato/seasoning mix.

People keep mentioning that if xyz isn't available they go to a different store to get xyz. I'm wondering how long it will be before all stores are unable to stock xyz. We either need to secure a supply of xyz now while it is available or find alternatives to xyz or perhaps both.
Our church always does scalloped potatoes and ham for funeral dinners. I suggested to the head of the committee that it might be a good idea to order a supply to have on-hand and was shot down by we order from Amazon. I didn't bother to point out that if none are available Amazon won't have any either.
