Brought to you by people who have never actually read Tolkien or if they have, they missed the parts about elves being reluctant to fight but absolutely fearless warriors when they did.
Of course, there is a lot more to elves than Tolkein, and again, I saw these people have no idea of the real legends of the Little Folk or The People of the Air, The Good Folk or any of the other truly frightening and inhumane qualities they are reported to have.
I mean as a general rule, the story cycles from all over Europe and much of the rest of the world suggest you don't want to upset even the least of these "beings" and you sure as heck don't want to pretend to be one!
Personally, I'd rather not be caught in a "fairie ring" for a thousand years and then come out to find everyone I never knew was dead and gone....but their mileage may vary.

The Fae are still out there. What men have done to them will be cause to fly that Fairy Flag one last time. Look to Three Gorges Dam for how pissed the Water Fae are right now. The enemy has made us forget the Old Gods, the Old Ways, and turns them into cartoons and movies to make them ridiculous. People dressing up and making parodies of Elves? My money's on the real Fae.
