You have to love her, I mean Routh Stout. However, for her method to work, you would want to have fertile soil to start with. Also reasonable rainfall. Crops grow small if there isn't enough rainfall.

I grow some comfrey where I live. My chickens eat it. Some I have to water every day in pots and some growing under trees I don't water. A real difference in growth.

Last spring, we planted seed potatoes using the Ruth Stout Method. Here are our results (from planting to harvesting) without any digging, fertilizing, watering, or weeding!

See the whole process from sowing to 'earthing up' to harvest, by pulling not digging. Potato plants easily root into undisturbed, no dig soil, while developing potatoes need soft, surface material to grow in.
It's often assumed that potatoes just won't grow in soil that has not been thoroughly loosened, but this video shows the opposite.
Filmed at Homeacres April to July 2018, in a spring that started cool and wet, then turned hot and dry after 3rd May.
Another of my videos describing no dig potatoes is https://www.amazon.co.uk/No-Dig-Organ...

My garden is no dig and you see how few weeds are growing. We spend most of our time planting and picking, about two hours/week on weeding a quarter acre/1000m2.

No-Dig Garden Introduction

The No-Dig Garden is one of the 7 family size gardens that are being trailed as part of the RED Garden Project.

This garden was originally established using a Permaculture based deep litter mulch as suggested by Toby Hemenway in his book Gaia’s Garden.

But I have found there to be significant issues with this method here in Ireland, including a significant increase in slug population. The challenge is to adapt no-dig methods that will work best in this maritime climate.

Growing organic vegetables commercially for over 30 years, Charles Dowding has developed a no-dig method of cultivation for temperate climate gardening.

Charles introduces us to Homeacres, his 1/4 acre market garden. Now supplying year-round salad and fresh vegetables for local restaurants, Charles and his partner Steph Hafferty took just one winter to transform it from weedy pasture using mulch and no-dig gardening.

Learn as Charles explains the ideas behind no-dig growing, (replicating nature through mulching and minimal soil disturbance), from his various experimental raised beds, as well as the importance of soil.
