PREP Ya Got 6 months - Maybe

One thing I didn't target to prepare for, yet was predictable at least 30 years ago, was the disintegration of "SOP" in almost all areas of transactions - gov'mtl or healthcare or business - to a level of incompetence in workers, reliance on broken computer systems (or worse, bad data that "can't" be fixed) and the destruction of basic customer service skills. (IMO, AI is making this even WORSE.)

There are still some really pleasant surprises and I've discovered SOME workarounds and alternatives.

But this kind of thing is becoming an obstacle for maintaining vehicles & equipment, supplying one's preps, and getting on with life - SANS external support.

She's really tapped into the fear porn now. Its why I stopped watching the videos

She didn't use to be that way.
Guess she figured out that fear pays $$$$
Funny....in her other video about the "voice in your ear" she specifically talks about people who call her videos "fear mongering" and "fear porn". She's not wrong about it either.

If you are still so in the dark that you not only don't see a need to prep like she encourages folks to do, but actually feel that mocking and labeling those who, like her, are devoting an immense amount of time and energy to help and encourage others to prepare for what is clearly coming at us, is "fear porn" then you are disturbingly out of touch with reality. 6 months.....most of those who are awake don't think we have even that much time. What she says isn't "fear porn" its common freaking sense....and likely a conservative estimate.

Cary nor I ever watch videos about prepping, especially, those some folks call "Fear Porn". It doesn't take watching videos to see that the writing is on the wall. Cary never gets too excited about anything, but he can certainly see that bad things are possible in the next 6 months, or sooner. I just don't understand why some people make light or ridicule what's coming.

To be fair, this is not the first time that bad things have been possible in the next six months, or sooner. So yes, some people do make light. Wolf has been cried a great many times. See my own sig line; Doom Club has been wrong so many times that I can generalize it comically.

If Trump wins? it will most likely not Happen at the last minute like last time.
The give me dats and other liberal mindset will likely go ahead and start rioting before the final counts because of such a lead polls will have for the Trump ticket.
If you think they got wound up last time over a drug addict who died in the back of a police car just see what happens then!
They need a big threat and distraction before we have reason for a protest.
The government has pulled the wrong trigger with the J6 reaction and have removed the active peaceful protest from the deck with the double standard of prosecution. Talk about unintended consequences!

If the sun keeps ramping up with flares and CMEs there Will not be electronic cast ballots!!.....dat'ill be a game changer.
The proceeding comment's are just thoughts and are not products from woke or DEI mindset.
. . .then we dress like them and punch holes in their Prius' and Tesla tires

And one day that wolf is going to be correct, so why not prepare while you still can. My eyes tell me that this country is in a swift moving downhill spiral on all fronts. I have no hope of any upswings to change that downward movement at all.

On a long enough scale, everything goes wrong and everybody dies. Unfortunately, most of us will not be in a position where we can prepare for everything.

Fear porn or reality? I'd challenge you to dispute her observations she made with a scintilla of thoughtful response but then of course you would of had to watch the video. To fear what is coming takes valuable time away from you. To prepare against it is a more productive use of your time and resources and her channel is all about preparing. And she isn't selling anything to you or asking you to buy anything through her.

I get that people have done fear porn for the monetary value. The thing IMHO is, with fear porn (wall street crash) the expectation has always been a crash 1929 style. People jumping out of windows losing everything overnight. Which has never come to pass. Maybe in 1987, some.

But reality is, we have been the frog in boiling water for the last 30 years, since say 1993 and Clinton, and a case could be made since 1973, with no one paying attention.

Now we have been in this water so long if anyone says anything about it, they are discredited.

Is that a bubble I see, wait,... nope.

We the people change it? We don't have access to the control knob, not while you're in the pot.

Leaving everything else aside about the economy, banking, debt, immigration invasion and a weaponized judicial system. I think most people realize the temperature of the country that neither side is going to be willing to accept the results of the election this time around and I think for Patera that is where her six month timeline to get ready comes from.

Personally I think any number of things could happen between now and then. One thing I can take to the bank (as it were) is that if Trump is declared the winner we will see the meltdown of all meltdowns and the BLM/Antifa/Soros riots were only the warmups. If Biden 'wins' again everyone with functioning brain cells are going to realize that they stole it yet again and constitutional Americans and patriots are beyond fed up with the system giving them the shaft at every turn.

With neither side being willing to acknowledge the results the amount of civil unrest and disruption are going to be worse than the 1968 riots and that isn't even factoring in everything else. If we get into the doldrums of summer with nothing seeming to be going on it won't last for long.

Or even for getting anything transported from one place to another w/o fear of its being STOLEN--

whether it's letters (USPS FAIL)

or packages (my son is STILL waiting for his Kenwood radio/scanner, stuck since April 13 at FED-EX's MAIN HDQTRS in MEMPHIS, TN--you'd think at their MAIN HUB they could at least get something out....!)

But again--I strongly suspect---STOLEN, not "lost"--and the GTR's working in their Lost & Found (that they call "Overgoods") keep REFUSING to send out the radio they "say" they have because they do not HAVE it, and so keep stalling hoping the customer and the complaint will just go away, while meantime they've already sold it on eBay.

The total breakdown in MORALS---such that almost EVERYONE steals / cheats / lies--so that you can't even entrust a letter with a check or a package to someone without the very LIKELY fear that someone along the way will STEAL it---will cause our society to come grinding to a halt as trust evaporates.

...level of incompetence...

DD1 took me to South Korea last month for two weeks. We visited Seoul, Busan, and Jeju Island, with lots of opportunities for interacting with people in the transportation and service industries and small businesses. Everything about our trip was fabulous. (Well, except for the fact that I was not up to the challenge of hiking Mt. Hallasan. Only made it halfway.)

The sheer competence/excellence in every aspect, in every interaction, still boggles my mind. The respect for others. The cleanliness. We walked around Busan for 8 miles on our first day. I counted 15 pieces of trash, all the while carrying my empty water bottle. When we found a public trash can two days later, I asked DD2--the designated photographer for the trip--to take a picture of it. During our entire trip there, we saw graffiti once. Once!!

I live in a tiny town--population 300--that I love, but I would love to live even farther out. I loathe cities. Too many people, too much traffic, too much degradation. And yet, I felt far more comfortable and safe in downtown Seoul, even when I went out alone and being an obvious minority and unable to speak Korean and entirely unfamiliar with my surroundings, than I feel in any of the cities here. Even Reno, NV, where I lived for 15 years.

When it comes to customer service skills, you get what you pay for. How much does a store clerk make again?
I don't know. I think it's more a factor of how you were raised. I have no idea what clerks are paid in South Korea, but I had nothing but top-notch service every time. And most of the time my purchases were tiny. They have high expectations there. Here?

Everyone is an expert on when things collapse. Here is my prediction. In six months the sun will emit a huge X Class flare with an enormous CME that destroys all the grids on the entire planet. We are all forced to live like it is 1700. If however, in six months nothing happens, then I predict in another six months that the sun will emit a huge X Class flare with an enormous CME and burn up the planet. If that does not work out then I predict.........

Nope. I'm not giving in to doom. Each day that I'm above the dirt is another opportunity.

Here's what I think:

- Trump will win.
- Any attempted riots by the BLM and other slime will be immediately addressed. Some cities will have greater success than others.
- A number of conservatives are already standing up and saying "enough." That trend will continue.
- Soros and his ilk will try "something," but it's going to fail.
Why do I think this? Just look at the photos of the Trump rallies.

We are taking back our country.

Get up every morning and do what you can locally. Do not give in to fear. Do not listen to nay-sayers who say that it's "too late" or any other negative talk. Just go out and do what you can, whether that's supporting a conservative candidate for your school board or stopping drag queens from reading stories to children at your library. Say NO to men playing women's sports at your local public schools and public colleges. You are a resident and a tax payer. Be heard.

Stand up. Say NO. And make that stick in your area. If everyone does that, it will make a difference.

Are you familiar with Hobson's choice? The only way Trump could really make a difference now is if he was Christ incarnate which he is not. Look at what they did to him as a sitting President....a coup with multiple impeachments. Look at what they are doing to him now as well. Until the money powers change nothing will change unless and until God directly intervenes and that usually involves mass repentance which I don't see coming.

It isn't doom to cooly and calmly face the reality of our situation. Even if nothing else was going on the cold and hard math of our fiscal situation telegraphs that there is a massive depression or hyperinflation in the not too distant future. Other nations that have been in similar circumstances have gone down that road and we are neither special or exceptional. We are well beyond the tipping point of being able to fix this. Math doesn't care how we feel, math simply is.

Not that I blame you for grasping at straws but might as well face reality that we are going down and going down hard. There is always hope but not in this world or the things of this world. In the present time we can make a difference in our homes, on our street and in our family and that is why we prep.

Ya can't prepare for everything.
And so many use that line of thinking to justify not preparing for anything.

Oh, well. Life's full 'o choices.

Whether it's a two-week pantry and a backpacker's stove, or two years worth of food in both main home and a bug-out location outfitted the same, or vacations and beers with friends at the local pub, or some combo thereof, it's a choice based on our nature, orientation and means.

At this point, what will be, will be.

day late

money? whats that?
If (when) Trump wins, they will go full maniac. Looting , burning and rioting isn't fun in November/December a lot of places, but they will destroy what they can.

I'm sorry. You're an optimist. O.K. I'm a pessimist. But with all the polls and all the surveys leaning again Bidet, to say the least, I seriously doubt there will be an election.

school marm, I think you hit the nail on the head. The difference you noticed (and the lack I have here) comes down to respect. That's the key missing link here.

Just remember. Whatever happens … election … everything … etc. Has already been planned for. Even if Trump wins. They told us about the pandemic coming under Trump years before it happened. Just a little proof and warning.

We aren’t controlling anything … even by voting. They just need you to think we’re.

I truly feel this.
If my math is right. I should be able to slowly max out all of my credit cards over the next 27 or 28 weeks. That'll take me just past the doom event if it's a little longer than 6 mos.

You probably went through the Incheon airport on your trip.
I've been through many airports around the world and would rate the
Incheon airport as the best, it's clean with very polite and respectable workers.

I don’t know if you are serious or not but if you are make sure you really think it out beforehand. I always run the ‘what if I’m right and what if I’m wrong’ scenario first when it comes to big decisions like this.

At some point (which I think is rapidly approaching) the default rates on debt is going to go through the roof and if everyone is in the same boat it will be impossible for the credit card issuers, collection agencies and the legal system to deal with it all. But, we don’t know the timing on all of this. If things miraculously stay together longer than what we might think how are we going to deal with it all?

Depends on everyone’s situation but ideally its best to stay out of debt as much as possible. But OTOH if there were essential basics that I lacked such as storage food, a security tool or a way to purify water (or anything else life sustaining) I’d be willing to go into debt to procure those items while they are still available as it’s better to have and not need than need and not have. I do think it is that late in the game where you better get it while you can.

Just make sure you are prepared to deal with the consequences in case they find a way to kick the can a bit further down the road. And I certainly wouldn’t max out the cards for frivolous things as you might need some room on the card for unexpected repairs or bills etc.
