wrap heater hoses

To reduce heat loss from heater hoses between motor and cab,
wrap hoses with two layers household aluminum foil. Put foam pipe insulation over that. Secure with duct tape.

Most people just put cardboard in front of their radiators. Although trucks often have snap on/off covers. If you look in your engine comparment and see the fan turning when it -10F sucking air thru the radiator - you've got a problem, although many of the newer cars have thermostat controlled fans. I'd take care of that before insulating the hoses.

Actually, a little insulation on the hoses sounds good for the rigs that have a LONG run to the heater. Our Suburban has front and rear heat & A/C. The rear heater core is a long way from the 454 up front.
