i swapped the generator for an alternator on a farmall tractor, need to know what to do with the wires from the voltage regulator one is for lights, field,battery, and one more on the bottom of the old regulator tractor has an ammeter i wouold like to hook up but somehow i think i should be able to use the wires i have in the harness already any suggestions? i used a one wire delco alternator thanks MUd

What you want is a buss bar and some of these buss bars also double as fuse block and you wire all your lights and gages to it and one side of the buss bar is all wired as one and gets wired to the battery + side. The single pole alternator get a 12 ga wire from the back of the alternator right to where the positive connects to the starter. The Delco single pole alternator has its own regulator built in. Now some of the buss bars don't have any thing fuse about them but allows you to tie in most of what you want to run and you just install in-line fuses.
i got it figured out for the moment............. tied all but one wire from the old voltager regulator togetherit works and charges will go back later and clean it up got the parts for the alternator to make the one wire conversion with a new pulley for 10 bucks and the local generator shop thanks
