Flu Wife got over Covid and now has Viral Influenza..>WTF!

Just as the title says. She got over Covid in about two weeks. Had one week of feeling better and now has been productive coughing with URI symptoms for nearly four weeks. Tried all the over the counter meds and finally dragged her to the Urgent Care Clinic to see if we could get something stronger and they retested her there and "thank GOD" no Covid, but instead, now POSITIVE for Viral Influenza and what the Doc called "Long Haul Covid symptoms". WTF!?!?!?!

Apparently it's not uncommon lately for people to be fighting BOTH Covid and Influenza at the same time or immediately one right after the other. DAMN FOUCHI and HIS ILK!!

So SICK of this crap. We hardly go out anywhere anymore. We make every effort to totally avoid the "unwashed masses" of humanity. We don't go down off the mountain for practically anything anymore unless we absolutely have to, which is not often. Not sure where we'd move to, to stay as far away from people as possible. Maybe the Moon or Mars or.....???? Speaking of the Moon, perhaps we should not be going out if we're not in a MOON SUIT!!

Yep, son brought that crap home from the hospital and has shared it around. I don't blame him of course, life is what it is. But strangest thing is that I'm the only one who hasn't gotten this crap. Usually I'm the first one to get it, or get it worst. Hubby is the only one who is struggling to get rid of this crap. He rarely to never gets sick and my lord, he is a horrible patient.

These are worth reading about Long Covid if you haven't. Several on TB2K follow the FLCCC recommendations closely. Their protocols are based around taking Ivermectin along with vitamins and supplements. They have medical protocols including one for long covid.

I hope she feels better soon. Son and his wife both have Covid right now. She is worse than him, double vaxxed and boosted, he had the JJ shot. The rest of us had Covid in January, not vaxxed.

Adding my prayers for your son and daughter in law. It's been found that having had covid before may not protect you from catching BA5, it has escaped all prior immunity (natural and vaccine) so you may want to isolate from them for the next few days if you can.

We have been. We’ve had no symptoms as of yet. Spent the Saturday before last with them, she started feeling bad last Monday night. Really hoping we dodged the bullet this time. Praying for you and yours as well.

Sending prayers for you both. I'm feeling a little out of sorts and experiencing some mild vertigo the last couple of days. Hoping that I'm not getting it again.

Just re-read thread title and noticed you described it as “viral influenza”. I could be wrong, but I think ALL influenza is “viral”.

I know pneumonia can be fungal, viral or bacterial so some diseases can indeed have different underlying causes.

If there is a non-viral form of influenza that would be interesting to know.

No there are bacterial Influenzas as well. Haemophilus Influenzae is one, it's a gram negative bacterial lung infection.....not fun I can assure you. BTDT.
Haemophilus influenzae, or H. influenzae, is a kind of bacteria. It can cause bacterial infections ranging from mild (such as bronchitis) to severe (such as septic arthritis). Symptoms depend on the specific. Treatment includes antibiotics but you may also require hospitalization depending on the severity of your condition.

Something that is IMPORTANT to remember is that we (humans) are inundated every hour of every day with all kinds of bacteria and virus' that our body routinely fights off without our even being aware. That's just the biological soup that we live in. When we get hit with something hard like Covid that knocks our immune system into the dirt, it gives these usually benign critters that our immune system routinely fights off a foothold to create havoc.

BTW....HIV/AIDS is like that. It knocks our immune system right into a deep dark hole and everything else around us is what kills you.
