As said above, but also and more so it fits the agenda to get people out of the bio diversity areas. Note that most of the areas that are burning are vary wooded. The wooded areas are only for the natural environment.

Many of the reasons have been mentioned but it is probably a multiple number of reasons that stretch beyond Oregon.
Oregon, especially Portland has been such a collection of left wing loser dingbats they even made a cable comedy series about it. So you have a critical mass of a population that supports even the most radical left wing idea in a contest for max woke.
This support obviously is matched by the same leftist wacko’s in government. You not only have a supporting population but you have a supporting government.
This creates the location for Soro’s and likely CCP funded destabilization efforts to be grown seeking the magic 3.5%. They can use cities like Portland as riot training grounds to attempt to create enough rioters that have practiced tactics in real life environment. The idea being to then send these trained thugs out to other US communities to riot, rob, destroy and kill.
The ultimate objective is not Portland or even Oregon but to fully destabilize the US that will allow the Chinese to take over as both the top world power and the critical power to leverage CCP as The Central World Government.
Of course these useful idiots will then be ruthlessly hunted down and destroyed as destabilizing to the greater social order, but what the hell they would then, like Oregon have served their purpose.

Word on the street in the local area of Portland, Metro, is that last weekend some of the proud boys got in conversations with antifa types and told them they were from Clackamas County and surrounds. Vengeance. We have family currently evacuating from Oregon City, heading here, Roseburg, which is under a level one alert (we think it's mainly about air quality -- baaad). Where the hell do we all go if we wind up at level 3?

It took decades to produce the timber resources that are burning. I wouldn't be surprised if China already owns the rights to at least some of the torched stands of timber. I doubt they'd want their property burned, but, you never know.
Historically China hasn't been into expansionism. Not saying they couldn't change just that it's not their style. Besides, why go to war when you can just buy control of the resources you're interested in, in whatever country they happen to be? That seems to be their style and much cheaper than war.
