Has No Life - Lives on TB
Depending on the time of the year you sit in the dark in ball soup or you sit in the dark and shiver. That is unless you prepped and had advanced strategies. Like most people hear I assume.

If the grid goes down I look for big troubles to start around day 30

I agree with you Warthog, IMO 30 days should be around the time even moderately prepared people will start to run low or out of generator fuel.

And that reminds me to pick up a dual or tri-fuel converter for each of our Honda Generators including quick connectors and fuel line...

If and when I can get converted this will make life much easier in a crisis, I have a natural gas furnace installed in my shop with 220 dedicated welding and compressor circuits plus a slew of 110 circuits.

So I could in theory run one of the generators in the shop to charge batteries and the other either back fed on one of the 220 circuits or run a heavy duty extension cord to the generator hook up just below meter head on my electrical service to run the fridge and the washer and dryer also during the day.

In order to prevent an early departure from this life I can vent the generators exhaust through a small 110 roof vent fan and or through a exhaust hole in the shops overhead door.

JC thanks for bringing this up now during the warmer part of the year so I am not scrambling around getting the generators set up completed.

I'm all about the doom
JC, do you have any of the Humless brand of generator that uses solar panels to recharge itself? I believe that they can also be plugged into a wall socket if power is available.
