Wendy’s used to be our go to for a quick eat in the car while driving on a road trip meal. About 10 years ago we decided that the quality of their food had declined and we stopped going there.

Dave's #1 burger, the flavor has changed and not for the better.

The last time we were in Ankeny, IIRC it was december, they had their baked potatoes back OC bought one, and he was very disappointed.
I'm not surprised. That store has had problems. I'm surprised they are still open. Tell OC to try the nearby Culver's instead. It's one of their better restaurants in the area.

We've eaten there, their menu is actually larger than the one here in town. I had a choice of several salads, and side salads, which made me very happy, and their ruben isn't half bad.

I've eaten at both. I think the one in Ankeny is better.

I generally end up over in Grimes because Walmart-Menards-Fareway-HyVee-Aldi are all close together. I can go in a big circle and accomplish a lot of looking/shopping in a short time.

You got me curious on that one.

Piri-piri looks pretty good.

Understanding that anything they fast-foodalize suffers greatly.

Worth a thread, unto itself.
I have ordered several types of pepper seed.

even had a few seeds from peru,

left from yrs ago.

planted them and they mostly sprouted.

mite hafta build a greenhouse just for peppers.

fatalii seeds from finland is one great place for seeds.

but.. be warned

they aint cheap.

also dmpagricultural (USA?)

and pepperseeds.ca, here in canada.

the more I read about peppers, the more varieties I discover.

I dont like very hot, but so many varieties are not too bad.

Wendy’s has also discontinued their chili hot sauce in the black packets. I won’t buy another chili from them because of it. They replaced it with “cholulu” (sp?) and that stuff is just nasty.
Hmm. I hope that is regional only- I go there to get chili sauce, as it's the only one I liked- In fact, I almost ran a thread asking if anyone had a good knock off recipe for it, as I like it so much.

I’m sure there’s a recipe on the net someplace

Interesting opinions.

I generally don't do fast food, but on my (used to be yearly) hiking trips to the Sierra, my going-there itinerary always involved a planned pit stop. If I was taking one route (Hwy 120, as opposed to Hwy 140) headed to Yosemite, the planned stop was always a particular Wendy's in a certain town, at the base of the Sierra foothills. There are several other fast food joints in that same town (because of all the tourists driving that route), but their bathrooms are large and always clean and well stocked, and I never had a problem with their food (burger, fries, Coke). Certainly I think their food (the last time I went) was better than that at the other fast food places.

They really didn't think out their announcement strategy. It could have sounded much more customer friendly.

Agreed! And then the way they retracted what they said strongly implying that we all misunderstood them the first time.

Saw the headline of an article where when the news broke on this. Burger King started giving away their burgers.

Boy hey that's what we need an old fashion gas war, but with burgers. It would be great.
