I learned something new yesterday that you all probably already know. If you shop online at Walmart, type in clearance food and those foods pop up. I tried it with soap too, and I found some really good deals.
wow I didn't know that either. It will have to wait until next month because I've already spent this months money, that is unless I break down and use a little cash.
so I did my grocery pick up and got my license plate renewed. I would not have gotten the renewal if I'd been by myself because I was tired. But it was quick there was only one other person in the DMV and two people working.
They had everything on my list, although it wasn't really all that long. I got two of the one pound propane canisters, DH asked why I got them, to which I said because I wanted to. I'll remind him of that the next time he wants one. A couple of years ago I got one of the little burners that you can put on top, that way it would be really quick to boil water, rather than drag other cooking things out. Plus we have a couple of Mr. Buddy heaters. The price of two use to be the price of what one is now, so twice that much.
I had to take something back and after that transaction I turned around and completely forgot what I had come in the store for, other than my return. I walked around a bit and started to remember. I did get the pricey swiffer wet pads. I have other of the dry pads and I actually do have some of the reusable pads that I could use, they fit on a different mop. I figured the pricey swiffers would be good for this initial clean up and if I keep at it I want need the heavy duty ones for daily use.
I got a head of cabbage to make cabbage steaks. I did that one time and they were tasty. I also got a large bag of broccoli flowets, cheaper by the oz than the one pound bag. We divided it up and vacuum sealed several serving size bags. I went to take them out to one of the camper porch freezers and its a good thing I did, one of the freezers was off and the contents was defrosting. Besides ground meat, there were two pork loins. Everything was still cold, so most of it is going back in the freezer. Although the tomatoes and peaches were toast. The stuff in the bottom was still very cold, so we just turned it back on and see how that meat fares. One pork loin is in the crock pot and the other one, along with some ground meat is in the fridg to work on tomorrow. I can only do so much before falling out. I just need to rest for awhile and maybe get more done.
With going to town, and dealing with that freezer I'm tired and got nothing done in the living room except dusting this morning. Although I'm anxious to see what I can do with the swiffer pads.
I like clean and order to my house but one the other hand I can put up blinders too. But its been a tough year or so what with the delta varient of covid and my knee issue. I'm still a little unsteady and maybe I was that way before covid and wasn't as aware of it. I do remember having vertigo problems. But all is well and I'm blessed.
