I posted about these awhile back, someone here ordered one and it didn't work for her. I never have an issue to speak of, but if I do I make sure the jar attachment is down all the way and then it works perfectly. I like mine so well that I ordered one for a friend and another one for myself. I never have to use my food saver for jar sealing anymore.Found at estate sale. Seal jars without dragging out the big vacuum sealer

An auction in weather where people can't come is not going to be good. They need to chill.I really need to get over to Buddy's house to pick up his clothing that I need to donate, but the roads were slick yesterday; and snowy covered and slick today; I can't risk an accident. Hopefully, the roads will be clear tomorrow and the neighbor lady and I will go to the pool; I'll see if I can bribe her with lunch in Buddy's town so that I can get the clothes out of there. His sisters are wanting to have an auction ASAP; and I understand their desire completely, but not worth risking my safety, or a vehicle that I might not be able to replace.
King Arthur has some very nice artisan bread baking crocks and Dutch ovens.LOL, I think it's becoming my favorite past time to sit on the internet looking for recipes! Today, I've been searching for no-knead bread recipes. I am finding hundreds of them, but they all call for being baked in a Dutch oven. I don't have a Dutch oven (mine are enamel covered cast iron) that I can use in my oven, because of the plastic knob on the lid. So, I guess I'll be buying one with the metal knob just for making bread. All my regular cast iron Dutch ovens have the little legs on them.
So, does anyone have a suggestion as to what size I need to bake bread in? The recipes forget to mention that bit of info, or does it matter?

Sherree, I'd just use a regular cast iron skillet if you have one, or a Pyrex pie plate - use a piece of foil on top if it starts browning too fast.
SouthernBreeze, unless you just want a new new dutch oven, get a replacement knob for what you have. I have baked no-knead in my enameled cast iron and it turned out great.
I'm not one to run to the doctor, but you might want to get this checked out.I mentioned I was thinking I had Strep last week. Well, I have NEVER hurt like this in the parts of my body hurting with whatever this is that I have!!!
I did not know you had lymph nodes near your elbows ...both in the back and the front!! I was hurting there and looked up where the lymph nodes were, and yup.....that is where I was hurting. It went away until just a few minutes ago...And it is back with a VENGEANCE!!! ALEVE must have worn off!!
Just took the next dose of Amoxicillin and some ibuprofen!! Don't know if it is hurting so bad because I am really THAT sick, or if something else is inflaming them......but DANG!!!
This has been a weird illness.....just blah, then get a charge of short lived energy and then back to not at ALL fun again!!
stainless steel replacement knobs.Where do you find replacement knobs? My enameled cast iron pots came from Walmart, and I've never seen replacement knobs for them. Most all the recipes that were made in Dutch ovens were the enameled ones. Out of the hundreds of recipes I looked at, very few were made in regular bread pans.
I don't normally say this, but please go see a Dr, the ER, or urgent care. This is not normal, and you most likely need something stronger than amoxicillan.I mentioned I was thinking I had Strep last week. Do you all think it might be COVID???I don't normally say this, but please go see a Dr, the ER, or urgent care. This is not normal, and you most likely need something stronger than amoxicillan.
Um... it sounds like time to get to the doc and rule out tick borne disease, or fulminant (possibly heading to sepsis) strep. Please... you've got some sort of major infection going on. It could be viral, but you need to be sure.I mentioned I was thinking I had Strep last week. Well, I have NEVER hurt like this in the parts of my body hurting with whatever this is that I have!!!

I have used my regular Dutch ovens with legs in my propane oven. Just let the legs stick through the wire rack. It still works fine. I have used them on the burners on top too. So long as the legs go through the grate. It won't work on top of electric stove though.
