What is shelf life of the butter?

Well, I had a bit of time and searched. The manufacturer says:
"Red Feather Website changes & Question Shelf Life There is no Expiration Date written in stone, because the shelf life depends largely on the storage conditions (temperature, humidity, altitude, sunlight/shade, etc.). We do guarantee the shelf life for two years however, the actual shelf life of the butter will ultimately be determined by the storage conditions (temperature being the main factor) and the seal on the can remaining intact and therefore protecting the butter from the introduction of oxygen."

Another site offers this:
"This flavorful canned butter is ready to use anytime. No refrigeration is necessary until after you open the can then you'll want to refrigerate any unused portion in a separate container. And while the manufacturer states that it’s good for 2 years, we’ve heard reports of people using it well up to 10 years. We’ll leave that part up to you to decide.

Please note: The current supply of Red Feather butter that is shipping are 24-months old. While the quality of the product is not in question, customers should be aware that this product has a 5-year shelf life. Please contact us with any questions or concerns that you might have."


From looking around I will state this, among several other places selling this butter, $139 is definitely the cheapest price I saw.

You got that right. Sorry we did not respond earlier. Manufactures has warranty on shelf life but it largely depends on storage conditions.

Prices are lowest anywhere.

Note that butter is April 2013 production.
