Owner says Walmart USED to have the American flag displayed somewhere inside the store on the wall. He says he hasn't seen it recently.

Stylus whittled from wood and held between my teeth in the "interdental gap." Its a little hard on the neck and I have to use "sticky keys" to get capitalization. (So sometimes it "sticks" in reverse too.)

Time to repeat "my story."

Makes total sense. I've been talkin to myself for a few years now, and now I'm talking to a horse.
My mental state may be worse than I thought.....

I'm Walmart Free since June 22, 2015. Haven't stepped foot inside one.

No small accomplishment, kudos.

1. We admitted we were powerless over Walmart, and that our lives had become unmanageable.

2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him. ;)

Throwing away hard earned money...and proud of it, is my own perspective on that statement.
I personally do not have enough money to not wring maximum purchasing power out of each dollar.

Even in Walmart, why would I buy a name brand when the GV brand is the exact same product at 1/2 to 2/3 the price???

As a business owner myself I at least partially get where the big corps are coming from and why they do some of the things they do. And with the costs of doing business going way up ... payroll expenses and corp tax just part of that ... there are only a few ways to stay viable in today's market and economy.

That said, stop kissing up to the small percentage of woke crowd even if they are vocal. They aren't your real customer base, and it is a waste of money to cater to them and makes you look foolish to your true customers.

I recall that when Sam Walton was alive, Walmart PROUDLY claimed that their goods were American made. They even got Bob Hope to say that in a commercial one time. How sad they have fallen so low, and all in the name of the dollar.
Agree.

But the truth is, if all their goods were American made - the store would be virtually empty.

Exactly so.

Their "American flags" were hanging from the ceiling, all over the store.

Big cardboard white signs, in red/white/blue, proudly proclaiming that they ONLY sold products "MADE IN AMERICA."

Sam's kids couldn't let him get cold before they changed that......

I mostly just quit being a consumer. I only buy antiques from yard sales or stores. Half my food is grown, the other is purchased in my local grocery store (Foodland). I buy steaks/ground beef there, from where I know the butcher and he purchases the meat from Texas and Kansas. I have my own home grown chickens and pork. Foodland also carries mostly local apples from Crow Mountain Orchard. Only Florida Orange Juice. That's Smart Oatmeal is from Canada $2.99. Lil Dutch Maid box crackers $1.19 and cookies $1.29 are from Texas, and I have e-mailed them thanking them for their product. I no longer trust Walmart, so don't trust their GV brand. I'll compare my local grocery costs, tastes and quality against (China to Arkansas GV) products any day.

Clothes are another story. I wear a lot of local made 1800's clothes and native wear. Socks are US made Dan Post. Fruit of the Loom is from Kentucky. I bought a life time supply at their outlet center close to where they manufacture them several years ago.

But that's just the lifestyle I'm in.

Too bad. Red velvet and cheesecake sounds pretty tasty. I would have bought that on sale June 17th.

Where walmart screwed up was their cultural insensitivity...... it should have been grape and orange sherbet swirl with skittles mixed in.... damned bigots!
