I'm predicting a final tally as follows:

Bush: 283 Kerry: 255

Lawsuits and recounts will occur in several close states.

Similar numbers here: http://www.race2004.net/

About the only good thing about Kerry winning -- if he does -- will be getting to listen to the whining and hang-wringing from the GOP die-hards here and on talk radio. :D

(Well I guess I shouldn't say the ONLY good thing. Getting that moron out of the White House will be good too.)

I'll say it again...

Barring any unforeseen circumstances (terrorist attacks, last-minute "revelations", etc...) between now and election day, I believe Bush will win a majority of electoral votes, and that the victory will be larger than expected. Not predicted a landslide, but I do think everyone will be at least mildly surprised at the margin of victory.

Probably will still be areas where votes are contested by the left. Hell, they're already primed to jump no matter what. They've even admitted as much. But I don't think it will alter the outcome.

You heard it here first... :D

Kerry 269 and Bush 269. What would happen if this occured? Who would then decide who our next president was? I have seen an awful lot of this number on the news shows. They tested us last year with craziness, what's it going to be this year?

i am seriously hopeing that Bush wins. But i have a suspicion that Kerry will win. based on some odd ball thought of my own.

1. I feel the assault weapon ban was allowed to sunset because then Dem's knew Kerry would gain the whiteHouse and once in that guns in general would be banned. therefore to pitch a fit now to ban one certian class of weapon would be a useless gesture.

2. If you can give any credence to John Titor's tale, Kerry could be the winner and the growing Waco type incidents he spoke of could be the standoffs with gun owners after the gun ban.

well like i said its oddball but some people plan their daily life by dreams or tea leaves.

Bush win by 10:45 PM with 290 to 300 electoral votes by the end of the night. Ohio/Florida painted red on the map along with some Dem strongholds like Minnesota slipping to the "dark" side.

By 11 PM the Bush bashers on the web and in the MSM will be crying in their beer. Then Wednesday the rally cry of Voter Intimidation, Disenfranchised!, Bush Cheated, etc will scream across the blogsphere and the NYTimes with perky Kaite Couric interviewing some poor inner city dweller who was afraid they would ask for ID at the polling place so they didn't vote. The lawyers will start doing their thing trying to create a controversy and throw the mandate into doubt.

If Kerry somehow does win then he will most likely be faced with a Republican majority in Congress which means he is effectively neutered for 2 years until midterms in 2006.

Honestly, my gut feeling tells me this won't be as close as many think - this from a third party backer who pretty much disagrees with Bush on everything against tax cuts, the war on terror which included Iraq, and a few small issues here and there.

I think you got it!
That's how I see it also.

Now here:

I think that will happen anyway.
Not much is said about it though.
Dershowitz and company are ready to fight any DEM loss.

Poor John Kerry:
He throws away someone else's medals.
He drives someone else's SUV.
He marries someone else's wife.
And he inherits someone else's money.
I think we should all vote for him to be president of someone else's country.

Yeah, Like France. :D

Speculators Bet on Kerry Win, Oil Down $2

LONDON (Reuters) - Oil prices fell sharply on Monday, taking U.S. crude below $50 on speculation that a U.S. election win for Senator John Kerry (news - web sites) could ease the geopolitical friction that helped fuel this year's record-breaking rally.

Almost gave up on this board. Haven't posted for a while.

For what it is worth here is how it is shaping up in Taos County NM.

Absentee and early voters 8720. That is a 215% increase over 2000.
Primary early voters 777

Republicans in 2000 had 31% of early voters 2004 = 12%

Democrats early voters in 2004 = 7,573

2000 total voters 8,010 = 5,398 Gore, 1776 Bush, 836 Nadar

Last count on reg voters was 23,081 So almost 1/3 of voters have voted.
This is 67% Dems, 15% Rep, 3% Green, 2% odd parties, 2876 Non Partisan
(I will check the latest figures for state to see final registered voters) This was figure on Oct. 18, 2004

You have to deduct about 15% from voters list for deceased and movers. They can't be purged until they miss two general elections.

I thought we might get 3000-4000 early voters and am blown away.
We were in Colorado Springs this weekend and my son spent 2 hours in line waiting to vote. Lots of Bush signs there.

Last figures I heard were Dems gained 2500 new voters and republicans 300.

My gut feeling on NM is that it will go for Kerry.

In my 65 years and since I registered to vote at age 21 the legal age in 1960 and having had the election in my living room in California for 25 years I have never seen the level of activity as this election is causing. Apathy does not exist.

I just want it to be over and be decisive. If it is another courts deciding election I'll riot!!!

I heard they are questioning early voting because some of the voters might die between voting and the actual election day. Well absentee voters can die too, and absentee balloting has been allowed for years and years and years. If you cut out the early voting you have to cut out the absentee voter too!

I have been feeling that this race is too close to call, but a long time friend who has been a democrat for 30 years, and is active politically tells me that there are many democrats he knows who are going to vote for Bush, but are not discussing it for fear of the conflicts with friends and family members.

I have no way of knowing whether this is true or not, but if it is, then the outcome of tomorrow's voting may not be as close as I have thought.

interesting ladydkr

Zogby is calling NM a tie according to his polling data. 47% for both canadates.

Those 5 EV's most likely will be quite important.

25 more hours.
