GOV/MIL US Navy Fighter Jet Crashes Aboard USS Carl Vinson in South China Sea - Video at Post #54

The general rule in aviation is "if the pilot survives it is mechanical failure. If the pilot dies it is pilot error."

It will be interesting to hear the findings. This plane has some political enemies.

The wording here suggests a ramp strike. Had it been a broken wire on the arresting gear my group would have gotten involved. Although retired, I did touch base today and they had not gotten spooled up.

The F-35C Lighting II Joint Strike Fighter that crashed on the deck of aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) and injured seven sailors was lost over the edge of the flight deck, U.S. 7th Fleet said early Tuesday in a statement.

The Navy said Carl Vinson was able to resume flight operations shortly after the crash of the F-35.

“An F-35C Lightning II assigned to Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 2, embarked aboard USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) had a landing mishap and impacted the flight deck and subsequently fell to the water during routine flight operations,” the statement said.
“Impact to the flight deck was superficial and all equipment for flight operations is operational. Carrier Air Wing 2 and USS Carl Vinson have resumed routine flight operations in the South China Sea.”

While the Navy did not specify in its statement to what squadron the F-35C was assigned, Vinson embarked with 10 F-35Cs assigned to the “Argonauts” of VFA-147 Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) flying F-35Cs from Naval Air Station Lemoore, Calif.

The Monday crash during a landing on the carrier injured seven sailors, including the pilot who ejected from the F-35 and was recovered from the water by helicopter.

“The pilot and two other sailors were [evacuated] to a medical treatment facility in Manila, Philippines, and four sailors were treated by on-board medical personnel,” reads the 7th Fleet statement.

All the sailors are in stable condition.

Caught the round down, big time pilot error unless there was a malfunction at that precise moment. You would think with ACLS aircraft carrier landing systems which no pilot would ever relinquish his stick during landing would have at least avoided that. Gonna have to wait for Ward Carrolls synopsis on this, he is pretty good at parsing the wheat from the chaff.

Stuff happens. I really think most people have no idea how dangerous carrier flight operations are in peacetime let alone the crazy times we are in with enemies everywhere looking to sink a carrier.
Those guys are nuts! Landing on a land based runway is one thing. (Which I have done.) I truly can't imagine landing on a postage stamp rolling around in the ocean. My hat's off to them. They are far braver than I!

I would totally agree but since the vaunted F-35 is involved, I wonder if this incident is the normal cost of conducting carrier flight operations or an indicator of yet more unresolved issues with the F-35.
Going out on a limb here but "indicator of yet more unresolved issues with the F-35" has such a ring of likliehood.

Bear in mind, I'm neither an aeronautical engineer or pilot of any kind; the numbers/pros vs cons on that program only added up in my mind if I owned blocks of LM stock - I don't.

It gets big when you're walking from one end to the other; 150 times a day.

Only a regular pilot here but a naval aviator once told me ’flare to land, squat to pee’. I agree with him and hats off to all that fly in and off of carriers. Would have to be a heck of an adrenaline rush.

Sooo... the nearly billion dollar jet was lost overboard in the South China Sea... how deep is that, and what are the chances CHINA can salvage it?!

A photo from this link show the F-35 in the water. A video at that link shows what appears to be the actual approach. Taken from the fantail (back end of the ship, below the flight deck), the aircraft adds power right at the ramp and is followed by a loud, atypical 'thump' just as it goes out of sight. Possibly a hard landing that collapsed the landing gear?

Navy Pilot Crashes F35, Ejects, After Vax Reaction

Throughout the Plandemic Real Raw News has written about incidents of vaccinated pilots either falling ill or outright dropping dead midflight, catastrophic events that endanger not only the pilots but also the millions of passengers entrusting their safety to the airlines.

This issue, obscured by the FAA in matters involving civilian pilots, and the DoD for military aviators, has plagued general aviation, commercial traffic, and military operations.

The most recent vaccine mishap involved the pilot of an F-35C, a 5th generation multi-role aircraft, aboard the USS Vinson, an American aircraft carrier patrolling the South China sea. The pilot, whose name has not been made public and RRN has been asked not to reveal, was returning to the carrier when the unthinkable happened: His glidepath was too steep, and his plane struck the deck without catching any of the three “wires” that are present to quickly arrest forward momentum and bring the airframe to a sudden, screeching halt. The pilot ejected a split-second before the F-35C bounced off the flight deck and tumbled into the choppy waters.

That much has been reported publicly.

The DoD, under direction of Sec. of Defense Lloyd Austin, has omitted a crucial fact.

Aviators approaching within a mile of their carrier “call the ball,” a radio transmission indicating they have spotted the “meatball,” a nickname for the visual reference used by pilots to keep the proper glide slope during the approach to an aircraft carrier.

As the F-35C pilot neared the USS Vinson, he “called the ball,” but also said he wasexperiencing sudden and intense chest pain, as if “someone hit me with a baseball bat.” The Landing Signal Operator aboard the USS Vinson noticed at once that the F-35 was above glideslope and would miss the wires. He ordered the pilot to “wave off” just as the pilot’s crackled voice said on the radio, “****ing vaccine.” The pilot had barely enough strength to eject safely, though several boatswain’s mates on the flight deck were injured when the plane struck the deck.

The pilot was recovered and taken to medical, where a physician determined he had suffered an acute case of myocarditis, or inflammation of the heart muscle, a common and potentially deadly side effect of Covid-19 vaccinations.

The USS Carl Vinson, a Nimitz-Class carrier, has a fully functional medical ward on its 2nd deck, complete with diagnostic equipment, including CRT and MRI scanners, found in contemporary hospitals.

The pilot, current condition unknown, got his booster shot aboard the USS Vinson 72-hours prior to the accident. He had no comorbidities, and passed a medical examination on 9/5/2021.

Other aviators aboard the Vinson described him as “an accomplished and competent aviator with thousands of hours of flight time in a broad range of aircraft, and dozens of successful carrier landings.”

This information came to RRN via a senior Navy officer who said the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps received a briefing on the accident.

As an aside, the Vinson’s CO, Capt. P. Scott Miller, is a “black hat” who has endorsed the criminal Biden administration.

Note: Have not gotten an update on Dunn trial yet but will post as soon I do.

Comments on the Tw link claim it was the Navy's first female F35 pilot in that crash.

I do not believe this to be true. I read a dozen articles on this mishap and many referred to the pilot's gender as he and his. Since so many female pilots have crashed on carriers, the pilot's gender was something I was wondering [about]. The vaccine booster's heart damage makes more sense. But there could be a disconnect between the navy report and actual circumstances

Reports such as this can become less credible when they cannot get their basic facts correct. The Vinson has four arresting gear wires, not three.

Is it just me, or does biden's new WOKE NAVY seem to be crashing and blowing up more than they did before?
Don't have as much time for live training now that they are diversity training mad?
