Considering how many armed citizens and hunters there are in the US.....if hezbollah starts something here on American soil it's going to be a blood bath and an open season on those rag headed camel jockey's......and then we'll NUKE any arab country that sticks it's head up or opens their mouth....starting with Iran.

No. No we won't.

And, having seen how proficient most gun owners are, I'd say they are better off avoiding a fight... Simply owning a gun and shooting the occasional stump, does not make you a gunfighter... Those folks will DIE (quickly) if they try to square off against dudes that grew up in a warzone. I salute the sentiment, but dread the implementation.

Don’t have a lot of faith in the American vet and hunters?
I do agree with your typical joe and Jane who bought a handgun and keep it in their nightstand. Unloaded and with trigger lock
Those types are useless anyway

I figure the international bankers and in this country specifically the Federal Reserve is the #1 threat...........the US government puppets are just the enforcer of that..........

Faith and proficiency are two different things. Shooting, all by itself, it a very perishable skill; Gunfighting even more so.

I don't doubt that there are good-hearted folks with service history, but how many of them have stayed sharp? That takes consistent and deliberate effort.

Add to the mix: a few genuine bad guys start doing the nasty, a random selection of average Joes and Janes happen to be packing in the area, and now there is a crowd of folks shooting at a crowd of folks. I'm gonna bet that the Blue-on-Blue, random missed shots due to lack of training, cardiac events, and responding LE shooting well intentioned good guys with guns, will make the general chaos and body count grow exponentially...

By way of example: I'm several months into my beard right now; I look like a mountain man with a high-and-tight. If I'm wearing a wool watch cap and a heavy coat (it's Winter), how much different from your run-of-the-mill Tango do I look? If you see me (justifiably) returning fire on bad guys, and have a chance to ambush me (because I "look" like a terrorist), whatcha gonna do hero? What am I gonna do if I realize you are shooting at me and you're not in a uniform? Do you look like a valid target to me? I burn through ALOT of ammo each month; do you want to be on my receiving end? What are the LEO's gonna do when they show up??? (Hint: it's shoot everybody with a gun that isn't them)

I shoot a lot each month mysel
I reload so the cost is down
I’ve been involved in two stand up eyeball to eyeball shoot outs
That’s not including my military time
Now to most I just look like ole grandpa. And that’s to my advantage
And I’m not a all knowing blowhard so that’s also to my advantage
And
I’m smart enough to hold my fire except what’s directed at me
Now I’m not trying to pick a fight with you specifically
But you did dismiss a lot of folk out there
And on this forum
Even at 70 I can still get a good move on and knock down targets while still moving with my pistols
At 300 yards with my accurized 303 or garand. I will own the target
Now
I’m thru pissing on the wall

Your situation still doesn't change the fact that the VAST majority of U.S. gun owners, are only gun "OWNERS." There is no grand body of competent armed citizens floating through the crowd. I'll grant you, we might get lucky here and there, with a one-off shooter who actually knows what he's doing, but the numbers don't support that being a regular occurrence.

Here's hoping we never need to find out.
