Deceased
It's a Medicaid shift of patients from state budgets to taxpayers
Since the State no longer pays
And the federal subsidies make the insurance affordable
For every one except the middle class
The States were or are now able to squander money elsewhere rather than patient indigent care

Has No Life - Lives on TB
I had an ER doc tell me that the ONLY way companies like Blue Cross/Blue Shield stay afloat is that if anyone applies and cannot pay, they are immediately directed over to Medicaid. They are too much of a risk for a "private" company, which is the way it was BEFORE Ovomit's NoCare. Everyone had access to medical care. Some got it for free and some had to pay...just like now. The only thing good that came out of this fiasco was the provision for pre-exsisting. It did NOTHING to hold down cost to the consumer.
