The countless precious blessings whites have bestowed upon the world include flush toilets. That means toilets are racist. Weep the propagandists at the Guardian:

When I was a toddler my mother and I were visiting one of her sisters that lived in town. Having lived very rural I went out in her front yard and took a dump. I thought they were all going to have a heart attack. My mother blistered my behind and I was confused. I did, however, learn better.

Reminds me of the one bathroom remodel we did 30 plus years ago. The customers insisted on Kohler black fixtures (tub, pedestal sink and commode). We spent a lot of time trying to talk them out of it. Told them they would need to clean and polish them daily if they wanted them to look good. Six months later we replaced them.

I have done countless number of bathrooms in all black and the walls counter tops the same way and seen many more, a few wanted white ceramic walls with a black counter top to go with the black sink with brass or gold trim.

The store had mock-up bathrooms to help one visualize what a certain brand or style would look like installed. About chest-high walls, raised floor, built to be moved around...you know what I mean.

Anyway, Bubba informed me that he had to go potty. I told him I'd take him as soon as I found the faucets and grabbed what I needed, as the facilities were up front by the registers. He was cool with that. A minute or two later, I hear his voice floating across the plumbing department, "Daddy, I'm finished, but I need help. There's no paper!"

Yep, I found him sitting on a display, pants down around his ankles, with a look of distress on his face at the lack of paper. And he DID need some!

I bought the display. I shopped there often, the guys knew me well enough to howdy me when I'd come in. I couldn't NOT make it right.

Son is now 35, just for reference. No, he did NOT just do it again... but a couple years ago I was in a Lowe's I don't usually frequent and this old fart (hell, he was 5-10 years older than I am) with a blue vest on commented that I looked familiar. He kinda did too. We were trying to figure out how we knew each other and his lightbulb went off. He asked, "um, did you ...well, did you and your son buy a floor model display about thirty years ago?" Turns out he was one of the guys working that department in that store on that day.

So yeah, it WILL follow you if you don't make it right. I'm sure he'd have remembered me with much more clarity if I'd've left them the mess.

We still get the local "Penny Saver" a private sales/news monthy type paper. At least 30 or 40 pages. Use them up in the winter for fire starter. Price is right since there free.

Also get a monthly power company magazine. And lately we've gotten the condensed version of readers digest in our PO box.

Once in a great while, I do get published magazines when a subject in it is dear to me.

But yes Dennis is right, stupid phones! If the grid goes down, the old magazine holder is going back in to the bathroom though.
